About this apartment rental

Beachfront condo #410 is a 2 bed/2 bath corner unit in building 10, on the southern edge of the property. Corner units in end buildings like this mean, extra windows with a more expansive ocean view & extra light. In this case it also means an extra-large lanai that faces both west & south. Breakfast on the lanai and enjoy an extra bit of local culture when single & double outriggers launch from the adjacent canoe club for practice paddles and a colorful regatta of local races. Pick up fresh local food to prep in the full kitchen, finish on the gas grills, then dine on the lanai. In winter the whales put on a show for free, but all year round the sunrises & sunsets (also free) will stun you. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. A king bed in the master bedroom, and in the second bedroom 2 twin beds. There is central A/C.
Tile flooring, flat screen TV with complimentary cable, WiFi, local phone. Central AC, ceiling fans, in-unit washer/dryer. The resort itself is a real gem. Nestled into a quiet and safe community, the vibe here is one of low-key local that lets you know you are in an authentic place, not some theme-resort. Centrally located in North Kihei, Kihei Beach Resort is a favorite of return travelers.1 vehicle per unit free parking. From here you can venture forth with low commute times (15-45 minutes) to enjoy most of the awesome adventures and attractions Maui has to offer. Two long & winding roads - one to the summit of Haleakala & the other through the rainforest heading to eastside Hana. These are longer treks to places remote, but places not to be missed if one can help it. On days you want to stay close to base, stroll the (almost empty) 3 mile stretch of white-sand shoreline north to Ma’alaea. The resort’s 1.3-acre grounds tempt you to stay and relax by the pool, sunbathe on the beach or claim a lounge chair under a palm tree and read a book. From the grounds & pool you have panoramic, nothing peek-a-boo-about-them coastline views that extend south to the Makena cinder cone, sweep out across the water past Molokini Crater, neighbor islands Kahoolawe & Lanai, then north to Maalaea Bay with its backdrop of stark white windmills marching up the sharp ridges of the West Maui Mountains. During high season (Dec-April) humpback whales (mamas, babies, and guardian males) find shelter in Maalaea Bay; the sight of them breaching is always thrilling. All year round you will savor spectacular sunrises and sunsets by day, and star-studded skies and silvery moonbeams glittering on the Pacific by night. It’s fun that Kihei Canoe Club is next door to the resort. Watching the canoes during practices or races is a cool diversion few resorts can offer. On Tuesdays & Thursdays the club offers visitors an opportunity to paddle out with them ($40 donation), so worth it! Across the street is a quaint collection of local treasures: a farmer’s market featuring local fruits & veggies, Ululani's Shave Ice Store, Sugar Beach Bake Shop & an ABC convenience store. You will find yourself there more often than you think, it’s one of those spots! And just down the road a bit toward Kihei, you will notice a most charming church painted 'plantation green' with white trim & exuding the Aloha spirit. Keolahou Hawaiian Congregational Church holds services in English & Hawaiian on Sunday mornings, open to all; on Thursday evenings they host 808 Uke Jam, a gathering of ukulele enthusiasts of all different levels who play, sing, learn & share aloha; it is free & open to the public. It is priceless. By the way, this condo is professionally managed by Destination Maui Vacations, an on-island management company with more than 40 years of history on the island. Our offices are located nearby with an easy-to-reach, courteous staff. We love to help & will do our best to ensure you have a wonderful stay on Maui! Free Parking 1 vehicle per unit.

We had a great time staying at this property. The only issue we had was a last minute change in our room because of construction that was going on above the original unit rented. The location was great and made for some outstanding sunset and beach views. Some of the interior was a bit dated with popcorn celings and shower doors that would come off the tracks but overall was fine because we spent most of our time exploring the island instead of at the condo.

This place was great! I cannot believe the view. We loved seeing the outriggers ever morning from the lanai. Since it’s a corner unit there was a view on the side of the unit and a better view off the side of lanai. The location was great. A short walk for coffee and a pastry across the street in the morning. The shaved ice place was always busy and with good reason because it was awesome. Then the farmers market and ABC store were so convenient for everything. I thought this was a good location to get to anywhere on the island. We will definately stay here again on our next Maui trip.

Excellent property. The location is awesome with ABC, Bakery, Shave Ice, and Farmers Market across the street. The beach is usable as well. The view was amazing! It is a great setup for families with teenagers. The beds were comfortable and parking was never an issue—overall great place to stay.

We stayed here for a week in mid June and everything was just as it said it would be. Very comfy beds, clean bathrooms and kitchen. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need. The unit is right beside the Outrigger Canoe club and we absolutely loved watching the boats go in and out in the mornings and hearing their horns and Chants. There is also an amazing bakery, Hawaiian Ice Place and Farmers Market right across the road. The location is wonderful. Far enough away from town to not be crowded but close enough to be at a restaurant or grocery store in about 10 minutes. We loved how it was very central on the island as well. 15 minutes to the airport but we could be anywhere on the island relatively quickly. The host were very nice and very responsive to anything we needed. The only thing that was a very small negative but out of the host control was the water quality in front of the unit was a little murky but just swim out about 15-20 yards and the water gets clearer. It’s just the sand making it cloudy. We had a wonderful week here in paradise and if we ever come back we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for five days at the end of February. When we entered the condo and looked out the balcony, we were immediately aghast at what was sitting on the beach right in front of us -- a huge, rusted, decommissioned military boat. The view was not what we paid for and workers on the boat made it impossible to have privacy or quiet. However, I wrote to the management company requesting some financial remuneration, since we would never have stayed here had we known we would be confronted with the rust heap. Fortunately they gave us back $500, about 10 percent of what we paid for five days. The boat was also later towed away, and even though it was in our sight on the side, at least it wasn't blocking our view. However, the boat had been there at least a month before we arrived and they should have warned us ahead of time. Otherwise, we enjoyed the condo. We were grateful for the ample towel supply, toilet paper and the few supplies in the kitchen such as plastic wrap, salt, pepper, etc. The location was great and made for easy drives everywhere. The washer/dryer were convenient. Although it was clean, the cleaning fluids used before we got there were so strong, it took us the entire five days of airing the condo to diminish the smell. Also, although it's modern and nicely furnished, don't expect a luxury, up-to-date condo. It has outdated popcorn ceilings, and kitchen cabinets that were difficult to open in a couple of cases, for instance, because there were no knobs.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We LOVE this location! Second time staying there!! The boat was a HUGE distraction from the "ocean view" and the noise from dealing with the boat- pumps etc.was very very loud. Hard to sit outside and have conversations. So that was not relaxing for us- until the evening then quite but there was the BOS U in our view of the ocean. NOT that serene ocean view we paid for or came for.Wondering if would be some compensation for that whole endeavor??? We know you had no control over the circumstances but seems like anyone staying at Kihei Beach should not be charged the full amount for an ocean view/relaxing grounds and our vacation. We felt like a small recliner and another comfortable chair in the living room would be helpful. Chairs not very comf- couch was great! And the above tenants seem to move their deck chairs alot and could hear them very clearly- usually when we were heading to bed. Maybe same was happening to whoever was below us??? Maybe better patio furniture. Again love this place and your services were great! But THE BOAT sure put a dampper on our expensive vacation- absolutely no beach to even walk on. And as we watched other try to walk on beach- many fell and was not safe. Apprehending back on any compensation for this BOAT that was not part of our stay!!! Paid top dollar for not a top spot 😕🤔
