The bungalow sleeps 4 comfortably with a queen size bed in each room. Kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee pot, small electric cooktop and dishes. If there is anything else you might need, just let us know and we'll have it to you in a jiffy, as we're on property and available most all of the time! (Iron, blow-dryer, just ask!). Super Safe Location. WIFI, Netflix in each bedroom, cold A/C, bathroom amenities, beach towels, etc.
While we do welcome families with older teens, a minimum age requirement of 10+ years for children applies.

GETTING AROUND:
We are located about 2 miles from the Phillip Goldson International Airport (but you will never hear any planes!) We are happy to provide Free courtesy pick up and drop off for you to and from the Phillip Goldson International Airport. Just send us your flight information before your arrival.
The Gecko Bungalow is about 15 miles from the heart of Belize City, in the town of Ladyville. From here you are 1.5 hours away from Corozal Belize and Chetumal Mexico, just over the border to the North. Three hours to the South, enjoy the sands of Placencia and another hour past that to beautiful Punta Gorda.
Nearby adventures include Altun Ha Mayan ruins with fantastic photo opportunities at the top of ancient structures. Also, take a tour to the awesome Lamani Mayan ruins. After an easy drive, you'll hop on a boat and tour down the river, Jumanji style until you land at one of our larger Mayan ruin villages, Lamani. Enjoy an included, served picnic lunch and take a guided tour. About 30 minutes from the Gecko Bungalow you can visit the incredible Zoo (more of a Rescue Sanctuary) to see virtually all of the wild animals of Belize. Plan your day right and enjoy a mainland "must-do" Cave Tubing adventure and an exhilarating zip line excursion! A short drive to the city and you can hop a boat to one of our islands for a day trip, or take a backpack and spend the night so that you can snorkel at the Hol Chan Nature reserve and Shark Ray Alley! For our nature lovers, take a drive to the Botanical Gardens at Cockscomb Nature Preserve or explore the jungles in San Ignacio....So much to see and do, let us help you plan your itinerary!

You'll definitely want a rental car unless you want to tackle the local bus system or use shuttle companies which can get expensive. If you ever wondered where the old school buses in the states go to die, it's here! They're not real comfortable and make frequent stops.
Because of this, we can offer For rent at $75.00usd per day and exclusively to our guests an insured Kia Sportage 4WD for you're use. We don't charge any hidden fees the other guys charge do!

The Gecko Bungalow is an amazing property! The location is quiet, yet not too far from the airport. We stayed 1 night in the two bedroom bungalow. The bungalow had everything you could think of and everything you forgot at home. Both bedrooms had a/c and there were fans in every room so we were very cool and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and cozy. The bungalow felt like a home. It was fully stocked with everything. Michelle picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. Michelle is attentive and went out of her way and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Michelle also set up transportation for us to dinner. I would also recommend dinner at the Shrimp Farm. Dinner was amazing.
The grounds at the Gecko Bungalow are absolutely stunning! You feel like you are away in your own private jungle oasis. I can't say enough about this property. You really have to experience it for yourself! We would definitely recommend staying at the Gecko Bungalow and we will be returning for a longer stay.

Our family of four had an amazing stay at Gecko Bungalow. It had all the comforts of being at home, however with an amazing tropical paradise backyard. The hosts, Michelle and Scott, treated you like old friends from the get go of our airport pick up and supported us with our adventure plannings for our 3 day stay. We definitely will be back at the Gecko Bungalow to further explore main land Belize.

I am glad I was able to end my vacation at the gecko bungalow. Michelle made sure that everything was taken care of with the multiple shuttles to and from the airport. The bungalow was an oasis and I was very glad to get to experience it with my first trip to Belize. Michelle and Scott made it feel like another home away from home. It was way more than the pictures. The landscape was as if you were experiencing an oasis in the desert. Michelle and Scott were the best hosts and beyond accommodating. I'll definitely be returning to utilize the entire compound.

This was an absolutely fantastic guest house with phenomenal hosts. The pool was amazing for a quick night swim before bed. The decor was fun and everything had great attention to detail. My 11-yo son rated this as the best hotel he’s ever stayed in.

We had so much fun staying at the Gecko Bungalow. The adult kids loved the pool and the whole resort vibe of the pool area, outdoor sitting space and all the plants. We "older" people just enjoyed hanging at the pool and outdoor kitchen soaking in the Caribbean air. At night the place lit up and transformed into a completely different place. We had so much fun. We will be back and we will tell all our friends. Thank you so much Michelle and Scott. You both rock!!!

The Gecko is an amazing little oasis carved out near the airport. They have done such a fantastic job building out this special place.
Michelle and Scott, the owners, are delightful people and extremely hospitable. There was some confusion on my end when booking, and they were very accommodating in helping to resolve it.
I cannot recommend this enough for a little stay before or after your trip in Belize.

Cozy bungalow close to the airport. We had an early flight out and wanted to avoid the drive in from Belize City. This was a perfect option for us. The bedrooms were comfortable and the AC was great. We enjoyed our last evening by the pool. Communication was great. Would happily return.

I am a law student who decided I needed to escape California for spring break at the last minute. I did not have ANYTHING planned, and I traveled solo. Staying at the Gecko house made my spontaneous trip feel like I went to visit my aunt and uncle! Not only was I picked up from the airport, but Scott also introduced me to his friends on the island, and they accompanied me out for my first dinner in Belize. The next day I was able to catch some great tours (also set up by Scott and Michelle) by renting their vehicle, and Scott even let me borrow cash for my trip until I could find an atm (whaaaatttttt!!!) When it was time for me to leave, Michelle set up my ride to the water taxi and showed me how to purchase my tickets. They took control of all the planning so I could study and unwind. This was BY FAR the best experience I've had at an air b &b, and I look forward to staying with them again!! Michelle, you were lovely, but Scott, this one goes out to you!!

What CANT we say? Superior service and attention to detail and friendly assistance whenever and as many times as you can think of anything. Perfect spot for us & our dogs. Beautiful pool & landscaping that will serve as your outdoor living room. Friendly & accommodating hosts (we are always hesitant to stay where owners are onsite -- but Scott & Michelle were super laid back and truly great hosts!). No full stove/oven but does have electric burners, toaster & microwave so it was easy to make breakfast before heading out for the day. This is now our go-to spot when we need to spend time in Belize City (already booked our next stay!). Highly recommended!

Michelle and Scott are lovely hosts. Their attention to detail and personal touch makes the Gecko Bungalow even more appealing. All pictures are accurate and represent well. The sweet bungalow is well maintained and very clean. Michelle’s responsiveness to emails was superb and her willingness to help made our stay unforgettable. We were thankful to have Scott as our navigator, and his gregarious personality was very comforting as this was our first time in Belize. The care and attention they placed on the meals and interactions with us was truly top-notch. The beautiful and private pool and outside kitchen is outstanding, and just what the doctor ordered after a long flight. When we departed, it was like leaving old friends. Thanks Michelle and Scott!

Simply the best!
This is a fabulous bungalow with a fabulous hostess (thanks, Michelle!). So much information on what to do and see and how to get it done. We wish we could have stayed longer, but had to head back home the next day. A transfer to and from the airport and a night of laughs at the shrimp farm. Could not have been a better way to end our amazing experience in Belize! We'll be back...

Location, location, location .... Hands down the best place to stay!
My best friend and I had never been to Belize and decided, on a whim, to pay it a visit and let me tell you ... it was AMAZING but we would not have been able to experience all that we did had it not been for the location of the bungalow and the guidance of Michelle and Scott! First of all, let me start by saying that the bungalow is perfect! It's super cute and very cozy! My family and I have been using HomeAway vs. hotels for vacation rentals since 2012 and this has been by far the most welcoming and comfortable stay I have ever experienced with a vacation rental. I usually have a hard time sleeping when I am on vacation but I slept like a baby every night we were there!
Michelle and Scott really take care of you. They make you feel like you are a family member coming in for a visit! Even their dogs make you feel like family ... especially sweet Lincoln! :):):) Resort vacations are relaxing and hey, there is nothing wrong with spending 5 days on the beach drinking rum but we wanted to get out and mingle with the locals. We really wanted to explore and see all that Belize has to offer... and the bungalow is the perfect location to do that! We did and saw soooo much in the 5 days we were there thanks to Michelle and Scott! We definitely got our beach and rum time in but man did we experience so much more! Michelle and Scott made fantastic recommendations for food, places to visit and helped us book excursions to ensure that we were safe and taken care of! They even rented us their car and got us to and from the airport ... which was a HUGE help!
We are already planning our next trip to Belize and the Gecko Bungalow!
