I enjoyed staying at this property and I will say the staff and food was great. Some inconsistency when it came to service and quality of food but I have to give a big thank you to Miguel ( server at Shaken) who was great, very attentive and gave good recommendations for breakfast. For dinner menu, I highly recommend the cevice.
BRING BUG SPRAY. I got bit so many times at the resort by the pool mainly and the flies love to come around when you get your food. It was definitely a downside of my stay and I am not sure they are doing anything about it. There was spray avail at the bar but by then it was too late in my case. I have to note the private beach is 15 min away via boat. Nice but water is not deep enough to swim. Ceviche there is not as great but drinks and other food is great. Also, it was hard to stay in a room with NO full length mirrors...my friend's room did not have one either, so I guess that's a thing as well.

Amazing service, private beach. Very safe!
4.3
The bed quality, pumping AC, and warm pool water is definitely worth the price! Thank you for an amazing experience at this resort!
4.3
add about 250$ per person to whatever price you paif here, you need another flight to get there and then you need to rent a golf cart to get anywhere, NONE OF THIS IS MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS HOTEL, tourist trap
4.3
It was beach.
4.3
It was the most unpleasant stay I had, the room was service on the third day, there was mosquitos inside the room, inside the shower area, TV đź“ş not working properly. On the last day reception order us a taxi, the driver was rude to us because the hotel give him the wrong drop off, also the service was changed 3 times the amount of local taxis.
4.3
The only reason It’s not all five star is because of the mosquitos. They ate us up anyplace we didn’t put bug spray. Even under my clothes. Every thing else was a tropical dream. Very lovely. Staff was very courteous and friendly.
4.3
The staff were absolutely amazing. They went over and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. Even when there was a small issue with our bathroom they were in the room with maintenance within minutes. They were exceptionally kind and friendly. The room suited our needs well and was very clean. I would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful resort! However the mosquitoes were horrible!!
4.3
Staff were super friendly especially Mathew with the concierge. Private beach was great
4.3
Unique gated property on the island. Friendly staff. Food at the restaurant was very good. Private beach club is worth a visit. No complaints.
4.3
The good: Beautiful property with amazing wood built into the rooms. Mostly friendly staff. Multiple options for dining. Safe and secure resort. Great private island!
The bad: There are an insane amount of mosquitoes especially near townhomes and snack huts. I know this is an island, but I LITERALLY got 5 new bites every time I entered or exited my room. They desperately need to spray.
The ugly: Rude and dismissive attitude from management. Michael W (Concierge manager) helped check my husband and I in and even helped show us to our room. Unfortunately our air conditioning was not working and showed a room temp of 30 degrees Celsius (86 F). My husband mentioned that it was hot, but Michael thought nothing of it, dropped our bags and left. We are very patient and decided to wait about 90mins to give the unit time to cool off the room, to no avail. We went to the front desk, where I saw Michael before he looked at me and then walked away. I caught up with him about how abnormally hot the room was, he stated I must not be familiar with the remote to work the air because it was likely just locked! I advised that I am quite familiar with the remotes /units and that was not the issue. He again stated that the remote must have accidentally been locked and I needed to notify the front desk staff.
After 3 attempts to correct the issue, my husband spoke with Dalton and another staff member who were amazing and helped to change our room to one where the air was working properly.

Certainly a great hotel and very accommodating to all your needs. Was good to escape the San Pedro highway of golf carts and get some fresh air. Still early in the development phase of this hotel but has really good potential to upstage the other 5-star hotels in the area. Service was outstanding and the escape to the pristine private beach was yet another plus that made this hotel top tier.

Really enjoyed our stay! The private beach, compliments paddle boards and canoes. I will say its best to rent a golf cart. The hotel does offer the rental service. We rented ours off site for $30/day. $40 taxi ride from airport to water taxi. Water taxi was about $30/pp. $10 taxi ride from water taxi to hotel. All staff were great! Super fast room service! Would definitely stay here again. 8.5/10

Great friendly staff and service.

This was by far the worst traveling experience of my life. In what was supposed to be a great way to celebrate my birthday turned out to be a nightmare from start to finish. From power outages, no AC, unclean rooms and overall lack of customer service. There were power outages every night of my stay, we were unable to watch TV or use AC. When pointing this out to guest services all we were told was that the island is having power issues and they would offer a $150 credit to put towards our incidentals. One night we didn’t have power for 4 hours, sat in the dark/heat until we fell asleep. Management staff stated I could speak to the GM to address my concerns, however he had a family emergency the day he was supposed to come in. I was deciding between this hotel and the other large resort 5 minutes away. I wish I would’ve stayed at the other one. When speaking to other travelers we were told the Marriott resort had generators and the guest there weren’t experiencing what we were. Out hotel only have generators in the lobby so the guests were just left in the dark literally. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here!
4.3
The resort was nice, the meals were very good but a lot my expensive than I thought they would be. Because we didn't have cell service we didn't feel comfortable leaving the resort because we could get lost and the city was very dirty with garbage everywhere. The bathroom was rusty and you had to leave the bathroom door closed at all times to avoid heating up the entire cottage. The cottage was cute though.
4.3
The property was very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. The major discontent had to do with the very frequent and sometimes prolonged power outages. This ws never mentioned or stressed in any communication. These outages were well known by every local and not s surprise. Many facilities had generators. The rooms did not have power during the blackout. I have a cpap that I use nightly. Had I know the power outage was so common I would have taken the battery to use at that time.
A little communication would have greatly improved the stay
4.3
There were roaches in one room i had to kill. We were moved to another room that same night. The next night we had to kill another roach.
The staff was very nice and professional though.
4.3
The front desk team really took care of our needs. I planned a special anniversary dinner and Matthew helped set up a private dinner and had roses delivered. The property was quiet and the private beach was even better.
4.3
If I can give minus star I would. I travel the world and this hotel was the worst.
First day, big cockroach came out several hairs on the bed sheets, mosquitoes everywhere and A/C is so loud we had to wear earplugs whole time. No amenities what so ever. No coffee pot, no mug.... My fishing trip request cash payment so I brought exact amount cash and part of money disappear. Dont be fooled by beautiful photos of private beach. Full of sea leeches and it is not that pretty in person.
This was the only bad part of my belize trip.
Picking this hotel was my mistake ever. Oh the outdoor pool is so small. It is joke!!!
4.3
The staff is amazing and did as much as they could do. Our room had to be moved because a pipe burst. The new room we received was very dusty and dirty. Our wifi only worked for one of the 4 days we were there. Let me say again the staff really tried their best with the resources they are given. My husband and i appreciate that!
4.3
Mahogany Bay was a great place to stay. It was a bit removed from the hustle & bustle of town yet still just a short golf cart ride away. The resort was pleasantly not crowded, the staff were very friendly, and the private beach was amazing!
4.3
It is a perfect place for peace and quiet.
4.3
Property itself wasn’t the problem. The issue was everything else. The so-called amenities aren’t amenities at all. A small refrigerator in the bungalow that can barely hold the two bottles of water they comp you everyday. The weight room was small, and half of the equipment didn’t even work. Everything is US currency. Over priced and over rated. The staff was great, it’s not their fault that Hilton decided to rip off their guest! If you watch any YouTube videos about this property, they are lying because they’re being comped. Skip this property!
4.3
Excellent staff, clean beautiful setting. Outside downtown so not as noisy. Very clean and felt safe.
4.3
Good hotel but it has inconveniences: good luck getting a towel at the pool, they dont clean your room or bring you fresh towels unless you ask, if you stay in a shared building with 3 rooms in the same little building, you can hear everything from the room above yours, you have to take a 15 mins boat ride to the beach.
4.3
rooms were never cleaned and we had ants.. other than that beautiful property.
4.3
Staff was wonderful. Dalton at the concierge and Afeni in the restaurant and many others made our stay wonderful.
They truly made our visit memorable.
4.3
Family friendly, beautiful location.
4.3
Let me start by saying this was the best resort staff I have ever encountered. Everyone from dalton at check in to Jairo and Alyssa at the concierge desk. Every person was friendly patient and kind. My stay here was amazing the only issue I had was they were literally building a house 20ft away from my cottage from 6am to 6pm. This was an annoyance but didn’t impact my overall stay I wasn’t in my room much during the day. Every person I encountered at this resort and really on the island of San Pedro felt like
Family. Belize is a wonderful place and I can see myself living there.
4.3
Beach club and dining options were nice and food was good however dining was very expensive. Rooms are lacking and since nothing is included I would say the room prices are high. We were forced to switch rooms the night before our flight due to piping leak and we were not compensated.
4.3
Over priced for what you get.
4.3
No access to the ocean
4.3
Expedia does a very poor job of price representation. A $55 per day fee at check in changes the room price. Advertise lower, pay when making reservation, but then pay more at check in. Resort was way too pricey for what you get. Go to Ramon's.
4.3
The room was beautiful, the pool, main house, private beach were all great. The roads were dusty and dogs started barking at 4:30 am and construction workers started by 7am.
NOT great on a relaxing holliday!
4.3
I appreciated the friendliness of the staff.
4.3
Leaking mini-fridge. Room directly under flight path of low flying planes, loud, constant noise. Plus golf carts, guest conversations & grackles on tin roof sounded as if all were IN our room. Property spread out, prepare to walk a lot. Vendors huts disappointing; ice creams offered were vanilla, strawberry & chocolate, really? And mandatory resort fee for one night stay is ridiculous. Much construction beyond the pool & on end of “Main Street”. This was a sad caricature of a resort. The value just was not there.
4.3
The biggest complaint I would have on our stay is the noise that comes into the rooms at night with not having glass windows on the bottom only the mesh and shutters. We had very noisy young girls beside us in the cottages and noise of the air conditioner from the cottage beside us kept us up most of the night to where we had to go buy ear plugs. The staff was friendly but young and service was slow. For the price of the property to stay at and for the cost of drinks and food was expensive. Videlly was great to deal with at the front desk.
4.3
10 out of 10. Property was beautiful and clean. Staff very pleasant and welcoming.
