The house is a very airy and comfortable, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home with large yard and patio. The street is quiet and not busy, so great for kids. Master bedroom with private full bath is downstairs (new queen bed). There is also a second bedroom downstairs (full size bed). There is an additional full bath on the first floor. .Both full baths have tub/shower which are great for bathing the kiddos. Plenty of towels provided. Upstairs are two large bedrooms and the largest of the two has a half bath. One of the upstairs rooms has a queen bed and the other has three singles. The half bath is in the one with the three single beds. The upstairs bedrooms have window A/C units. Downstairs bedrooms have ceiling fans. The home has a large laundry/mud room with front loading washer and dryer as well as washtub and plenty of closet space. There are several closets so no shortage of places to hang clothes up. Outdoors there is a large yard and patio. Patio has gas grill and charcoal Weber for those who enjoy charcoal grilling. Patio has table for four and additional chairs are provided. Nice gardens surround the home. This home is on a quiet street with very little through traffic. The yard has plenty of sun but also plenty of shade as well with large oak trees. Very private back yard. Driveway can accommodate 3-4 vehicles and there is plenty of street parking. It is 2 blocks from "downtown" and an easy walk to the marina park, brew pub, grocery store, restaurants and shops are just a few short blocks away. Nine hole public golf course in the village is less than 5 minute drive. The fourth of July is really festive in Northport with music in the marina park and spectacular fireworks. There is also music in the park every Friday evening in the summer, so bring your bag chairs! NOTE- WE ALLOW ONE DOG UPON PRE-APPROVAL AND PET FEE IS $150.00

My family loves Northport and we tend to stay at hotels when we visit, but this time we decided on a rental home. The house could not have pleased us more, it is in a very nice neighborhood for taking walks and is only a short distance from the center of town. It was very clean (The owners said they use a cleaning crew between rentals and it shows), spacious, and great for lounging around outside. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a couple of our meals. The bedrooms were tidy and comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. The house has a lot of personality and we could not have had a better time! The owners were easy to communicate with and very pleasant. We recommend Barb's Bakery if you get up there! Absolutely wonderful vacation, will definitely be doing it again!

Went to Northport for a large family gathering. A bit cool outside but this home was warm and cozy. The hosts were so accommodating with local recommendations for dining and seeing the sights. I can’t wait to visit again. Fingers crossed this place is available next time.

We traveled for 3 nights in Northport. This is wonderful property with in a great location. Family of 4 with a small dog.
***tall people warning: I’m 6’5 and if I didn’t slightly duck going into the family room and bedroom I would hit my head.

The house was amazing and everything was within walking distance. The deck has multiple levels that were difficult to maneuver in the dark, but not in the daylight! Some additional lighting could easily remedy that.

The home is well taken care of, one of the cleanest properties I have ever been. North port is a quiet alternative to the hustle of the surrounding towns. We will book again

I am sorry to have to write this review. I normally let bad events just go, but because I am so sick I couldn’t just ignore this one. We turned on the heat, which is located in the basement, one cold night and out of the 8 of us staying in the home, 6 of us all had various extreme issues - vertigo, sore throats, coughing, breathing problems, within an hour of the system being turned on. My elderly mother and myself all have gotten the most severe effects and we were both sleeping on the main level. We were also the ones that decided to stay. 5 others in our group left since they had other arrangements. Once we figured out that the hvac system was most likely the cause we turned it off thinking we would be ok and decided to remain in the house. We were in the area for my dad’s funeral and really had nowhere else to go. It was a bad idea to stay. Since leaving this house my mother and I have been severely ill. I have had constant histamine reactions to everything. I have been to the ER and to multiple doctors since and so has my mother. I have not been getting better. All doctors I have talked with have all asked me if I have talked to the owner of the house. I have. My mother lost her hearing for many weeks and continues to have inner ear, vomiting and bowel issues. If you have any kind of allergies, or not, I would highly suggest NOT staying at this property unless major changes have been made since our stay. So sorry this happened but it looks like this will be an “event”, as the doctors are titling it, that will effect the rest of my life. There is no recourse for us and we cannot prove that this house is for sure the cause, but after multiple people got sick on the same night we have suspected the house to be to blame.

One of the cleanest rentals we have stayed in, and that is so important to me and my family. The location is great - walkable to everything in downtown Northport. House is maintained very well and has very nice furnishings. Host was very accessible and responsive when we needed him. Would stay here again!

Lovely stay in Northport
We had a fantastic stay at this property! The house was spacious, clean, and wonderfully appointed, and includes a nice deck for outdoor living space. The location is a block from downtown, and we were able to walk to anywhere in Northport. We’re looking forward to being able to stay at this property again in the future.

The cleanest property I have ever rented! It was very comfortable, too.
No surprises here. Plenty of room for food storage. Plenty of closet and dresser storage. A nice patio for dining with friends with lots of flowers. A very short walk to Barb’s bakery and the rest of town.

Fun, sun and relaxing!
The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was great for walking to town and walking to visit family. There were 7 of us and the bed situation worked out well. One thing to note is that the bedroom with the 3 twin beds has a half bath located upstairs, the master has a full bath (main floor) and the other full bath is also on the main floor so anyone wanting to shower will be doing so on the main floor. The kitchen was well equipped with nice dishes and the outdoor grill had a full tank of gas and was newer. Due to COVID and a shortage of workers, many/most restaurants were only open Wednesday thru Saturday/Sunday so plan on fixing meals in on those off days. The owners were easy to work with and take pride in the home. Beautiful flowers were planted in pots and around the house. I highly recommend this place and would rent it again.

Northport stay
The rental home was perfect for our young grandchildren. The upstairs bedroom with three twins worked for the kids. There was plenty of space and lots of outdoor space for playing. The house is convenient to everything. The landlords were very professional and at ease with us! We are already thinking about going back next year!!!

Wonderful retreat!
This house was absolutely perfect. Very clean, comfortable, quiet, and in a great location. There is a lot of room and all the amenities that you need for a nice relaxing vacation home. It is within easy walking distance from downtown Northport and within short driving distances to nearby towns like Leland and Sutton’s Bay. Make sure you check out Peterson Park that is close by and a beautiful spot to relax by the water and look for Petosky stones. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property!

Wonderful!
My family and I had an amazing stay at this rental in Northport. The house was clean and wonderfully decorated. It was spacious for our large family and within walking distance to town which was a must for us. We especially enjoyed the deck outside, especially during the hot days when it was too hot to be indoors. Would highly recommend!

Quiet getaway in great town
Great house, very clean and tons of space. The area has a lot of great day trips you can take, or you can hang out in the quiet town of Northport. Communication with John and Carol was great. We would stay here again without question.

Perfect retreat for recharging
Northport is our go-to destination for a laid-back holiday in a beautiful setting. And this home was the perfect base camp. It’s a fully equipped, nicely maintained home with plenty of space for everyone to relax. The house is very clean, kitchen well stocked, patio and grill a nice plus. Each morning we’d start the day by walking two blocks to the local bakery Barbs for fresh cinnamon rolls and coffee, then continuing down to the harbor. The house does not have a view of the water but is only a few blocks away from the shore. Perfect location for hiking, winery visits and more.

Perfect location for family getaway
We were in town for a family wedding, which was taking place in downtown Northport. This home was perfectly located. We walked to the ceremony, which was in the park by the waterfront, and we were able to walk home from the reception. Our family of four, plus grandma and grandpa, plus one more adult comfortably slept in this home, and the dining area was nice and comfortably fit all of us for breakfast each morning. This was also a nice location to visit neighboring towns, farms, and the state park where the lighthouse is located. One note: be careful of that little step up into the kitchen from the entry way/bathroom. The owner gives you a heads up prior to your visit and has good signage warning you in the home, but my two kids (7 and 4) both tripped multiple times the first day or so before they adjusted to it being there. On the whole, you really can’t ask for a better home base for a family location you’re planning in the area. Highly recommended.

Cute Home needs some improvements
The homeowners let us borrow bikes and the house is well stocked with bath towels and sheets. The house could use more dishes, sharp knives and a better understanding on the trash removal. They will charge you if the trash is not tied up in a bag but the raccoons can knock the trash can over and get into it. They need to get a better outdoor trash can. The disposal would discharge food and water allover the cabinet under the sink and onto the floor. They said they would fix it but never did. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

Quick walk to downtown Northport.
The house was perfect for our family vacation. Neat and clean. Close to many attractions. Plus short walk or bike ride to town, restaurants and beach. Perfect for a quiet relaxing vacation up north. We did cook a number of meals at the house. They had most things we needed. I did bring a couple of my own kitchen items from home. We had a great time staying at this house. We had 6 adults and 3 small children staying at the house and there was plenty of room.

Great downtown home, beautiful renovation!
Our family of 4 had one of our best northern Michigan vacations staying for a week at John and Cindy's beautiful home in Northport. Our 9 and 10-year-olds kept busy riding their bikes all over including the 2-minute bike ride to Barb's Bakery each morning for fresh donuts, as well as biking the nearby wooded trails. Downtown Northport is such a relaxing spot -- we walked several nights to dinner, to the park at the Marina, to the Brewery, and made many grocery store and gift shop visits on foot. A highlight was the Friday morning farmer's market at the marina park. Everything was close! We also brought our well-behaved Golden Doodle - who loved walking to the gated school park each day to chase his favorite ball. The homeowners have done a great job with multipe updates throughout the house -- including the kitchen and bathrooms. The living areas and bedrooms were all very comfortable. We also enjoyed the outdoor patio and enjoyed several grilled dinners outside under the trees. Each day we picked a different beach to visit on Lake Michigan, which were short drives away. We also had great fun making the close drives to Leland and Suttons Bay and stopping at wineries along the way, and we rented a pontoon boat for a day on North Lake Leelanau. I would highly recommend this beautiful home, and it's ideal location just a minute's walk from Northport's downtown. Thanks John and Cindy!

Great base camp
We enjoyed staying in this charming home in Northport. We visited family staying in Sutton's Bay, enjoyed trips to Leland, drove to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Pyramid Point, and visited the tip of Leelanau peninsula. Loved strolling around Northport -- walked down to the lake each morning and evening. Nice restaurants in town, and charming shops. Home was clean, bathrooms and appliances are up-to-date, and linens are hotel quality. Would recommend to anyone -- we had 8 adults staying here.
