The property is great. Loads of space and the bedrooms are all very large. The location is great and it’s 5min walk to town or supermarket and sea front.
The downstairs space is great and kitchen stays warm with the Algar on. The plates and bowls are good quality and there is sufficient for eating. The kitchen is not brilliant in equipment one wooden spoon and limited chopping knives. But very minor things and unless you are cooking a 3 course dinner you should be ok.
The drawing room which has been knocked through to a sitting room makes for a very large space and sofas are comfortable and loads of space with a good selection of books and games, especially if you like gardening. There are a couple of folding chairs which could be used, we had our own and large kitchen table which seats 6.
The slight downside and these are minor. Parking is hit or miss and arriving when the rugby and or football is on can mean you are parking further away. The Alger. Loads of people have mentioned this but one self meant limited cooking and it was hard to know what temperature it was. I’m sure with time it would be ok but two weeks you couldn’t work out how best to use it and most evening we eat around 9 or had to cook and then re-heat in the microwave the next day. While generally the house is clean it has some spider webs and dust around windows and under sofas etc all pointing to a surface clean in between visits. My wife is very clean and wasn’t put off which highlights how minor it is.
Overall the place is excellent and we would without question go back and stay again.

Vielen Dank!

Really great location in Penzance.
Really great location in Penzance.
House worked well for a family of five. The main bedroom on the top floor has an en-suite shower room. The loo seat wasn’t fitted properly, so you fell off the loo everyone time you sat on it! The room is large and airy.
The second floor has two bedrooms, one double, one twin, again both good sizes with everything you need. There is one shower room and one bathroom, away from the bedrooms also on this floor. The shower leaked one day on to the floor below, but the owners were v prompt in getting it fixed the next day and we had no problems after that. We were grateful to the openers for dealing with it so promptly, so thank you again.
The kitchen worked, except for the aga, which was disappointing for us. Even after putting it on a high setting and left it for an hour, it took baguettes over an hour to cook, which normally take ten mins in an oven. I probably did something wrong. We ended up eating out or getting a takeaway for every meal, except one. There’s a good size fridge freezer and a microwave. The table was a good size in the kitchen and worked well.
The lounge was also a good size and well designed.
A good house for a family of five in a great location.

We were a family of 4 (kids aged 5 & 8) plus my mum.
We were a family of 4 (kids aged 5 & 8) plus my mum. Burford is in a great location and is a lovely house. We weren't 100% sure about Penzanze for a holiday but after this stay we'd certainly return. The house is really spacious, very clean and we had a really enjoyable stay. The Aga does take some getting used to and it would have been good to also have a BBQ in the courtyard to cook up meat or fish without needing to plan ahead. The only other negative would be the garden furniture which is quite weathered and could do with replacing. Overall though we loved it and would recommend a stay at Burford.
