Whitehall Pele Tower has all the benefits of modern living, whilst retaining its original character. The house stands in an acre of grounds containing the picturesque ruins of a Victorian manor house. Two of the larger lawns can be used for family games. Inside the house are spacious rooms, including a first floor sitting room with Chrome cast, giving the ability to stream from your device to the TV, and an enormous Tudor stone fireplace, looking out over tranquil pastureland. We had a wonderful stay at Whitehall Pele Tower.
We had a wonderful stay at Whitehall Pele Tower. It felt like a real treat as the building has a stately feeling and the kids loved exploring the grounds. It was spacious enough to relax on a wet day and felt like a good base to head into the Lakes. The beds were comfortable and pleased to report they now have a king sized bed in the bedroom (there may also be a king sized in the other bedroom but I didn't sleep in there and can't remember!) The kitchen is well equipped and there were even bowls for the dog. The house was always warm and everything was very straight, tidy and clean when we arrived. My only nit picky point was they'd missed cleaning the fridge and bread bin and some areas in the top floor bathroom. Overall, we had a fabulous stay and we'd definitely go again. The security deposit was returned in full the next day. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This is the perfect destination if you want to go that little bit extra for a special occasion mini-break rain or shine. There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the property for all that it has to offer in a surprisingly warm and cosy medieval tower. It is well situated for the Lake District National Park and the Solway Coast with plenty of amenities in the town of Wigton just a few miles drive away. We booked Whitehall for a long weekend in the autumn to celebrate a significant birthday with friends. It was so much fun to stay in a unique property with so much history - a large place that still felt homely and we really appreciated the personal touch of having contact with the owners and the housekeeper. We had a cracking four days at Whitehall for a reunion. A great renovation of a interesting building. All required cooking and living facilities were available and the property was spick and span. A lovely, fascinating and peaceful location (hence slightly remote). The games room provided much entertainment with a table tennis competition on multiple nights :)Thoroughly recommended. For dog owners - the only comment to be aware of is that the lovely grounds are open on two sides so you cannot let your dog out to wander on their own.
