About this house rental

The Spruce Lane Cottage is a non smoking family cottage where our children and grandchildren have gathered each year to enjoy Mid-coast Maine. We would like you to enjoy it too!The Cottage rents from Saturday to Saturday during the Summer and is available for more flexible bookings in the Spring and Fall. This year we are excited to announce the installation of a heat pump to aid with heating and cooling the cottage.

This sunny two story, 4 bedroom cottage is a quiet retreat. It is located a short walk from the harbor and village. The cottage has a large wooden wrap around deck that is outfitted with comfortable chairs and provides a quiet place to have morning coffee, afternoon tea. or evening coctails while watching the birds, reading a good book, or planning your activities for the day.

The first floor, contains a living room with comfortable seating, a fireplace, and a large screen smart TV. Guests can log into their own Apps. and watch, There is also a bright, sunny dining area where your group can gather, and a galley kitchen. Two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and a full bathroom are also on the first floor. On the second floor there are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two single beds. There is a second full bathroom between the two bedrooms. Bed and bath linens (i.e. sheets, pillowcases and towels) are not included with this rental. You can either bring your own or we can arrange to have them supplied for a per person fee upon request.

This cottage is equipped with Cable TV and WiFi to keep you entertained and connected as you plan each day's adventures.

The Spruce Lane Cottage has access to the shore front just a few minutes walk away. Our guests can launch their kayaks or canoes in this area and explore the waters of Tenants Harbor. We recommend Drift Inn public beach in Port Clyde, located a 5-10 minute drive from the cottage, for swimming. This beach has a beautiful sandy expanse at low tide. Bring a picnic lunch, a good book and enjoy the day! There is a public parking lot close to the beach.

The village of Tenants Harbor is just a short walk from the cottage with scenic views of the harbor along the way. The post office, general store, Quarry Tavern at The East Wind Inn, Town Landing, Schoolhouse Bakery, and Happy Clam restaurant with its Outback bar are nearby. Walk by the Town Office a little further down the road and see the metal sculpture of St George and the Dragon on your left and then stop in at the Jackson Memorial Library on your right.

The Spruce Lane Cottage is located a 10-15 minute drive from Port Clyde where you can book tickets for the Ferry to Monhegan Island; pick your favorite flavor at Village Ice Cream; stock up on supplies at the general store, enjoy a coffee at Squid Ink; have a meal at the Dip Net restaurant or check out the art galleries.

If lighthouses are of interest, the Marshall Point Lighthouse is on the way to Port Clyde and the Owls Head Light is a little farther in the other direction. The Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse is about 12 miles away in the town of Rockland off of Route 1. There is a multiplex movie theater located in Thomaston about 10 miles away on Route 1. A public golf course is also located in Rockland. Enjoy shopping, antiquing and visiting the art galleries and museums in the surrounding areas. Most of all enjoy the seafood at the many restaurants on or near Route 1 or stop and pick up some fresh Maine seafood to prepare at the cottage. After dinner, relax on the deck and enjoy the evening or sit in front of a crackling fire and read a good book, play a board game, work on a puzzle or watch TV.

Our family has revisited this area for over 80 years. We invite you to stay at The Spruce Lane Cottage in Tenants Harbor as you also enjoy your adventures exploring Mid-coast Maine.

I rented this very property 41 years ago from Linda's parents and I have been coming here off and on throughout the years. It feels like a home away from home. The setting is delightful: quiet, private and serene. The home has had beneficial improvements through the years, with all the conveniences one could want. I look forward to getting my "Maine Fix" while staying in this most enjoyable place.

Comfortable older home, with private beach deeded access across the street. Convenient to lighthouse, restaurants and all St George has to offer.

We chose spruce lane cottage because it was in a small quiet town but not too far from the larger city with the tourists attractions and a short drive to few beaches. We really enjoy small town vibes and tenants harbor was just what we were looking for. The cottage was a stones throw away from the water which was a nice walk to and watch the boats come and go. We went to drift inn beach just down the road a few times, the kids really enjoyed exploring during low tide. We bought live lobsters from the general store and cooked them at the cottage which was a neat experience for us midwestern folk. Overall we had a wonderful time. The cottage was the perfect size and had everything we could have needed. The bedrooms were good sized and having two bathrooms was so nice! We absolutely fell in love with Tenants Harbor and we’re so glad we stayed at spruce lane cottage. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely stay again!

Was exactly what we needed for our stay with our pups. It was a quiet area and sunrises over the ocean were beautiful. The road leading to the property was a little tricky for our car but once we learned how to maneuver on it, it was fine. We had a very enjoyable stay 😁
