DEEP DISCOUNTS ON FOUR+ WEEK STAYS: For the past several years, this has been the most sought-after property on the coast of Maine for large families because we can accommodate up to 30 guests. But a late-2023 court ruling affecting our subdivision has limited short-term rentals (defined as less than 28 days) to just two weeks per year! Those weeks are already sold out for 2025, one remains available for 2026, if interested reach out soon for availability!
PRICES SHOWN ARE FOR RENTALS OF 28 DAYS OR LONGER.
Please note that due to court order, we can only rent two weeks per year for less than 28 days, so we have to charge a premium price of $1599/night for bookings of less than 28 days, regardless of what rate the system is quoting. The rates listed in calendar are for 28+ day stays only. For one of the single week stays only please inquire for a special offer.
SATURDAY-TO-SATURDAY POLICY: Like almost all family-oriented vacation rentals on the coast of Maine, this property rents Saturday-to-Saturday only during high season (Memorial Day thru Labor Day), with a 1-week minimum. Bookings of less than 28 days are subject to a much higher $1599 nightly rate. Sorry; this is by court order and outside our control.
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
=====================
House and separate guest cottage (both included in rental) share five private acres at the end of a peninsula, with 700’ of west-facing oceanfront! We rent the whole thing as a single family compound (5-br 4-ba Main house with rec room PLUS a 2br-1ba guest cottage). The property also features a deep-water dock (8' water depth at low tide at dockside). There's even a hot tub from which to enjoy the incredible sunsets!
You will open your eyes each morning to breathtaking views of Davis Cove and the nearby islands of Muscongus Bay. There's a bald eagle who makes his nest high atop a tree right in front of our guest cottage, and there's a seal (his name is Neal) who is frequently seen just a short distance in front of our floating dock.
Do you like lobster? just walk down to the dock and flag down a passing lobster boat to buy lobsters caught minutes earlier, or walk across the street and buy them from the local fishermen.
The main house includes 5 King bedrooms with ocean views. Three of these King bedrooms are brand new construction in 2019 and include private en-suite bathrooms. One of them even has a Jacuzzi hot tub/spa! Two more King bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. The main house offers the larger kitchen and dining area of the two buildings. The kitchen and 3 new King bedroom suites are new construction in 2019. All appliances are brand new. There is even a lobster cooker big enough to cook enough lobster for the entire family at once!
The second included building is a cozy 650 sq ft 2-br, 1-ba guest cottage with kitchen/dining area, living room, and massive wrap-around deck, hot tub, and gas grille. The cottage itself sleeps 4, offering a queen bed in each of 2 bedrooms. It’s fully equipped and has everything that you will need to prepare delicious meals, including all new appliances in 2016. The large deck overlooks the ocean and includes a barbecue grill, outside dining area, hot tub and Adirondack chairs. The cottage is one level, and offers excellent accessibility (ground level, no stairs) for families that include people with limited mobility. The larger main building is accessed by stairs and the living spaces are on the 2nd and 3rd floors to enable spectacular ocean views.
The cottage has been particularly popular with groups who wanted to give someone in the group their 'own space'. We've seen everyone from the new parents with the screaming newborn to the grandparents to the in-laws "given their own private living space for the sake of everyone's comfort" in the super-accessible cottage, while the rest of the family enjoys the much larger main house about 120 feet from the cottage.
The recreation room with full HD digital laser projector for the kids’ gaming gear offers a perfect place to send the kids if you want to reserve some “adult time” on the cottage deck to take in the beautiful sunsets from the hot tub. Tell the kids to bring their xBox or other gaming equipment with HDMI output to hook up to our projector. It's also a home theater system with Netflix.
It’s a great place to go ocean kayaking. We can’t provide you with kayaks for liability reasons, but we would be happy to arrange a local rental, and the company we work with will even deliver your kayaks right to the property. We can arrange to have them waiting for you when you arrive.
The family compound lies on 5 very private acres of lawn and mature trees for you and your family to enjoy with 700’ of shore frontage, a deep water dock, and a small rocky beach. The private location is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, but also just a short drive from enjoying everything that Midcoast Maine has to offer, such as Rockland, which features the annual Blues Festival, Lobster Festival, and the Boats, Homes & Harbor Show. There are also Windjammer Days in nearby Boothbay and Camden harbors. You can take the ferry to several of the local islands, including Vinalhaven, Monhegan, and Islesboro, or visit the many lighthouses in and around the area. There are many art galleries and museums, such as the Owls Head Transportation Museum and the Lighthouse Museum.
There are many hiking trails for you to enjoy in the area, including two small hiking loops within just a couple miles of this property. You can drive or climb Mt. Battie in Camden for amazing views, shop in the cute and quaint shops in downtown Rockland or Camden and enjoy a multitude of restaurants for your dining pleasure. You may also plan wonderful day trips to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Camden, Belfast, Boothbay, Damariscotta, Wiscasset and the list goes on.
There is a binder of information on all of these things and more, located in the home to help you decide what to do first! Samantha, your property manager, lives in town and is at your disposal 24/7 during your stay.
Both buildings have 100mbps Internet. Both living rooms offer a smart television so you can access your Netflix, Hulu or similar account, but please note that due to the location, cable TV is not available.
Please note that due to the proximity of the deep water and a rocky coast, children should be supervised for their own safety. Dogs accepted on a case by case basis.
OWNER'S SECRET:
June, July and August are considered by most people to be THE months to vacation in Maine, but the owner (whose family has owned this property for over 50 years) says his favorite time to visit is September and October. To be clear, we're now talking about autumn in Maine, not summer in Maine. But the sky is clear, the air is dry, it seldom rains, and the hot tub and fireplace more than make up for the possibility of chilly weather. The tourists are all gone, there's no traffic, and the rent is much lower. Food for thought!
2025 MONTHS REMAINING: May 24-June 21, August 30-September 27, September 27-October 25, and extra special of 5 weeks for the price of 4 (including Thanksgiving) October 25-November 29.
EARLY AND LATE SEASON RENTALS:
Please note that our floating dock system, which offers a swim ladder and easy access to boating and swimming is seasonal. The floating docks are generally removed in mid-September and then re-installed in mid-May. If you are considering a stay before June 1 or after Labor Day, please be aware there is a possibility that the floating dock system will have been taken out of the water for the season.
2nd BUNKROOM STARTING 2026: We're adding a 2nd bunk room on the ground floor of the main house. This will allow us to comfortably sleep 30 adults IN BEDS. (Currently the only way we can sleep that many people is with use of pull-out sofas). When the new 2nd bunk room is complete, we'll have 5 king beds in bedrooms plus two queen beds in bedrooms plus 6 more queen beds and 6 more twin beds in our two bunkrooms, for a total of 19 beds plus about 5 more pull-out sofas. Please note that we limit group size to 30 people as a courtesy to our neighbors, despite that we'll have enough beds to sleep more.
LEGAL RESTRICTIONS ON USE: This property is offered for private residential use only. At least SOME members of your group must be related by blood or marriage, but guests are welcome as well. We can only rent to one group at a time, and subletting is not allowed. This is not a "Party House". Big families are welcome (including family reunions) but this is not for bachelor parties or other loud functions. Please respect our neighbors when you visit.

Thank you for the amazing oceanview and sunsets.

We had an amazing stay! Great host and terrific location!

Huge, spacious house for 12 adults and 2 children to spread out in for our week-long family reunion. Large main living area enabled us to be together very comfortably during cooking, eating, and many hours of visiting. The location was great and the view wonderful. Lovely, private property. The host was was always very prompt and helpful with the several inquiries made during the months before our stay. The only thing we didn’t anticipate was the remoteness of the house relative to the nearest towns and amenities.
5.0
Very quiet and relaxing. The weather was chilly so dinners outside had to be done by 5 due to getting dark very early.
The fire pit came in handy after dinners.

Loved Maine in all it's splendor, keeping our eye on hurricane Lee and deciding to stick it out. It was the best decision we could have made. Weather turned nice, beautiful sunsets followed by a day of wind and rain and it was over!

We had a great time at this property. It worked well for our family to have so many rooms, and the bunk house and pull out couches were great for the kids and teenagers. The view of the ocean was gorgeous and it was the perfect place for kayaking and paddle boarding on down days. The host was quick to respond to questions or concerns. Overall it was a great experience.

This property is truly a gem. The grounds offer so much between yard games, the dock for fishing and swimming, the hot tub for relaxing and the fire pit for fires and delicious s’mores. Location can’t be beat! The two houses easily handled our family with plenty of space, comfortable beds, and a basement offering movies projected onto a huge screen or throwing darts or playing pool. Every single box was checked with this rental!

We had a great stay with extended family at this property.
Customer Service was top notch, super responsive and helpful, going above and beyond to answer questions and make our stay a great one.
Lots of fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking, lobster eating and yard games. Super fun location.

Our family came from Utah to NY, VA, DC, CT, VT and Maine- 6 siblings and spouses and 2 cousins and a daughter and spouse. The 2 houses worked out fine with one couple with less mobility staying in the cottage and we ate most all of our dinners out on the large deck at the cottage with plenty of room and nice ambience, 2 nights had 16 of us! It was nice to have the large area to enjoy, the fire pit, games to play, etc. The weather was not perfect but several of us visited museums and attractions in the area. We walked each morning and that was nice with little traffic and problems. The beds were all comfortable and nice rooms. The lobster pot worked great to cook 16 lobsters. The property management firm was good to work with. We got our lobsters right across the road at a low cost! One minor complaint that did not affect many was that the pool table needs to be replaced, surface is not good. All in all it was a great time for our large group and we all enjoyed the week.

Beautiful location in Maine. Plenty of room to play games outside and inside. Great fire pit for smores and campfires.

My family of 15 had a superb time in Cushing! The house was clean and well-stocked, and the view is breathtaking! We can not say enough about how amazing the property manager, Samantha, is! She’s the BEST we’ve experienced in 11 years of rentals. We highly recommend staying at this lovely, very well managed property. Again, Samantha and the views made our stay truly magical.

This house and cottage was wonderful for our family group of 14, including 2 kids under 3. We especially loved the well stocked kitchen, big table and comfortable gathering area, fire pit, and lobster pot! Our group also appreciated the comfortable bedrooms with blackout curtains. Samantha, our host, was great, and easily accessible for any concerns we had or recommendations we needed. Honestly, we don’t think the online photos do this house justice - especially with the fantastic outdoor areas. The cottage deck, dock, fire pit circle and hot tub areas are spacious and the views are beautiful (we all ran outside on multiple evenings to take photos of the amazing sunsets). Overall a great, quiet place to get away, relax and enjoy Maine.

Had a great stay in early november. Great view of the water. Owner offers many options for things to do at the house, and details of surrounding attractions. This was off season for the area, so most stuff was closed. But very much enjoyed relaxing at the house.
Dogs very much approved.

We stayed here with a large family group for a long weekend while in town for a wedding. The house and property is amazing and a perfect set-up for multiple families. The cousins loved their kid bunk room and all the couples had their own private rooms and most private bathrooms as well. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything you need. The property manager even purchased a high chair for the house so that we would have it for the baby during our stay. The property manager was very quick to reply to messages and provide more supplies as needed. We would love to get the chance to stay here again to enjoy all it has to offer if we all can make it to Maine again!

The little cabin is perfect for mobility challenged which is where my husband and I stayed the rest of the family stayed in the big house with plenty of space. The weather wasn't the greatest but there was plenty to keep everyone occupied. It's a drive to any of the tourist spots but we weren't looking for that so it was perfect for us.

Heavenly
Our stay couldn't have been more relaxing. The location, the beautiful yard and property, the waterfront, the dock, both houses were all perfect for our family group - infant to grandparents. The location was convenient to explore surrounding towns and attractions, but most days were spent happily on the property. There are so many activities and amenities available we didn't begin to do everything. We used the kitchen in the "big house" more for breakfast or lunch, while the "little house," and it's expansive deck, was preferred for evening grilling and lobsters (one night's lobsters gifted by the owner!). "The point" was a favored spot, and someone seemed to always be there, watching fisherman in the morning, exquisite sunsets in the evening, or boats and wildlife, including a seal, all day long. The fire pit was also well used, and the s'more supples that awaited us when we arrived were greatly enjoyed by everyone. The property is owned and managed by local residents, and Samantha was friendly and easily contacted. I could go on, but I cannot say enough about what a great property this is.

Living it up in Maine!
Enjoyed the peaceful, tranquil waterfront property. Maine lobsters were available for pickings by the nearby wharf. We cooled off from the hot weather by swimming in the refreshing water right off the dock. This was a memorable experience.

Cottage was small but had large deck. Family (of 10) gathered there because no outdoor seating was available at the main house where spacious eating and sleeping were located. Fire pit, boat dock and other outdoor space was terrific. Host- Samantha- was friendly and accommodating -We especially appreciated the complimentary lobsters!

Love the large property. Love the quietness. Deep water for fishing. Love the guest house. Too many to list. Overall “Perfect” vacation. Will definitely be back soon.

Spacious and quiet place to relax and reconnect
Wonderful location on the water, facing westward. Views from the house are good, but even better from the cottage deck, fire pit and dock. Nature abounds with loons, owls, and other birds about. Rooms are nice and beds comfy. Space is tight if the bunk room or second cottage room are used, so it is ideal for a group of a dozen or so.

We planned a memorial get-together for my late husband. We had 9 family members aged from 5 to 73. The property was quiet, private, and peaceful. There was space for getting together and space for solitude if needed.
The long stairways of the main house seemed a challenge at times for us older folk, but we managed. The cottage was a nice addition for the couple who liked to sleep a bit later than the early rising exuberant children allowed.
Unfortunately, there was a problem with the hot tub during our visit. The rental agent apologized and generously offered lobster to compensate for that.
It's a beautiful setting and a wonderful memory.

Our family enjoyed the views from the cottage deck and the dock. Sunsets were gorgeous. We had a couple of questions for Samantha and she responded immediately. There are a lot of steps to the third floor of the main house, so remember to pack lightly! Beds were all comfortable. While the mattresses on the beds in the cottage are comfortable the bedrooms are very tight. But laying next to the open window and listening to the waves, wind, and seals barking more than made up for it! And the cottage kitchen was not as clean as the main house. But we made all of our meals at the main house and spent most of our time outside or in the main house, so we were okay with it. It made a great home base for exploring Rockland, Camden. Monhegan Island, Port Clyde, etc. And we made excellent use of that lobster cooker every night! We had a great time and would return.

Property was located in a beautiful cove with views that were amazing. Excellent space for large groups but intimate enough for a small reunion of friends as there was plenty of space to spread out. House was well appointed. Overall a great experience on the Maine coast, great area to hit all the mid coast attractions and small quaint towns along the coast.

Maine Dream Vacation
This vacation was a family dream come true.! We always wanted to take the kids and grandkids to eat lobsters and show them Maine. When we first drove up to the house, we were awestruck by the beauty of the property. It was everything we hoped and more. Our hosts and this spectacular location made this dream vacation so memorable! Upon our arrival there was a warm welcome with everything to make a great start including a s’mores basket and lots of other special treats. The whole family enjoyed toasting marshmallows at the campfires in the evenings, relaxing with morning coffee while fishing and swimming off the dock,, gorgeous sunsets at dinner on the deck, volleyball and baseball games. There was a lot of living /sleeping space and the beds were so comfortable. There were plenty of places to go- lighthouses, state parks, playgrounds, historic sites and art museums. A highlight of our trip was Monhegan Island and our fishing trip with the great Captain Brandon! The best part was cooking the 24 lobsters and the delicious dinner on the deck with the entire family while watching the most beautiful sunset! A big thank you to our hosts for their special part and we will always remember our Maine Dream Vacation!

The full compound was perfect for our family gathering of 14 adults and 4 kids. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and canoeing of the dock and the kids explored the ecosystem in the rocky tidal pools. The deck on the cottage was perfect for our whole group to dine alfresco, and there were enough Adirondack chairs for us all to gather around the fire pit in the evenings. The only downside of the location was that it was bit of a drive to the nearest grocery store (20-30 minutes), but it was really worth it to have so much beautiful outdoor space. The location also enabled us to take day trips to Portland and Acadia. Samantha was responsive and helpful. Highly recommend.

After a long year plus of COVID isolation we were able to gather our family of 12 for a fabulous week on the water. The property absolutely makes the place. We used the cottage as our main social center with the boathouse for sleeping children and quiet time. We got out on the water and in the water every day! The new Adirondack chairs were great and made creating multiple social centers so easy. Sunset and drinks on the dock. Dinner on the cottage deck and evenings around the fire pit.

Wonderful time in a beautiful setting!

This property is on the water, and that in itself is reason to give it 5 stars, but the house and cottage are exceptional.

Beautiful Property in Mid-Coast Maine
Spacious property for a large group with plenty of gathering spaces indoors and outdoors. Property faces west, so we had breathtaking sunsets into the water every evening. Property is very quiet and peaceful, yet only 20 minutes from town. Lovely place for our family reuinion. Samantha is a wonderful host, and very easy to communicate with. This was our first ever trip to Maine, and we felt like we experienced the best of Maine by exploring local Rockland/Camden, taking the ferry to Monhegan Island, and cooking lobster in the outdoor lobster pot (provided on the property). We all slept well each night in comfortable king-size beds. Property is highly recommended.
There are a couple things we would have brought in if we had known in advance. Like most houses in Maine, this house is on well water. Our crew did not like the taste of the well water, so we made a trip into town to purchase bottled water for the week. Also, bring strong bug spray and citronella candles for sitting outside on the lovely evenings watching the sunsets.
We made famiy memories in Maine that will last us a lifetime. Thank you, Samantha, for being a wonderful host!
