With two barns on the left and the main home at the end of the circular driveway, Thornhill Farm is truly one of a kind. The views across the fields with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance are spectacular. There is a trail to the top of the mountain, a pond to fish in and a porch to rock on.
You'll feel right at home when you see the rocking chairs on the front porch. The door leads into the main great room that has a stone fireplace reaching to the vaulted ceiling. There is a sitting area and pool table for gaming. A few steps up and you enter the living room paneled with original pine. The warmth in this room is inviting. For indoor dining you'll find a dining area with a table that can seat 8 - 12 comfortably. The brand new kitchen cupboard is filled with English stoneware and linens for your use in serving and dining.
There is an en-suite master bedroom and a guest bedroom and bath on the first floor. Upstairs there is an en-suite bedroom and bath and an additional queen bedroom. The three bathrooms are completely new as of May 2022.

The property is wonderful. There are several very old oak trees that are just magnificent. There were at least half a dozen deer that roamed the property in the morning and evening hours. We did not see the turkeys but I would not have been surprised to them there. It is a very quiet and peaceful location.

My favorite part was sitting in the swing underneath the Oak tree in the evening, watching the deer and being surrounded by lightning bugs. It’s beautiful and peaceful.

This place is absolutely perfect! Beautiful property, lots of space, renovated bathrooms, and all the charm of a country farm house.

We took our adult children and some friends for a long weekend and really enjoyed the whole trip! It was great being so close to town for shopping or eating lunch. And it was an easy drive up to Jump off Rock and also close to vineyards and breweries. We spent a lot of time outside by the bonfire and hitting golf balls or fishing in the pretty pond and then when it got too chilly it was really fun to play pool inside. We cooked supper every night and enjoyed all being able to sit around the large dining room table. We also had a large herd of deer visit us every morning! The newly renovated bathrooms are lovely and the beds were all comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Holly was wonderful and responsive the whole weekend. Would definitely recommend this farmhouse stay!

Dozens of deer and their babies came out early each morning and evening to graze on the pasture. Farm was old but comfortable. We had very cold weather and the heating was uneven. Even so, it was a very relaxing setting.

Enjoyed location and expansive outdoor property. House is large enough to allow for group to spread out. Older home with lived in charm.

The house is in a great location. It's quiet and yet there are grocery stores and restaurants nearby. The rocking chairs on the porch were inviting and we loved the tree swing. Unfortunately, those are the only positives about this property. This house hasn’t been deep cleaned in a very long time. The oven was filthy! The kitchen sponges were sour. We couldn’t find any dishcloths/towels in the kitchen. We eventually found some hand towels in the hall closet near the bedrooms. When we needed potholders on the quick, we found one small, very used pot holder. Also, the kitchen has very little counter space and what counter space is available had displays of dishes, bowls and knickknacks. The displays of personal items/decor are throughout the house. This leaves little room for guests’ belongings. We were constantly moving items so we could have room for our stuff. Unfortunately, I broke a bowl. The drapes were very dirty. When we tried to close them for privacy, they felt grimy. When we rolled the TV cart out to attach a fire stick, the floor underneath the cart hadn’t been cleaned for some time because there was a square patch of dirt. And worst of all, the odor. It wasn’t a musty or a damp, or an “old” odor. It was putrid. I will add though that the bad smell was not in the entire house. The game room and the kitchen had a slight odor but it wasn’t offensive. In fact, we eventually became “nose blind” to it so we were able to enjoy the game room. It was the bedroom side of the house that had a nasty smell. We were hoping to get used to it but that didn’t happen. We decided not to contact the hostess with our concerns. While we could’ve requested more sponges and possibly someone to clean the oven and remove the knickknacks, it was the overall cleanliness of the house that was our concern. Deep cleaning can’t be done while the house is occupied. I would recommend another cleaning company. We were charged a cleaning fee

We enjoyed spending quality time at this property with the family. Lots of room to enjoy each other's company and privacy to get away from it all.

This is our second time to stay and we are already planning our next trip back! We enjoyed many evenings watching the sunset, fishing in the pond, and generally making great memories. Great hosts and a great property!

I just recently rented this property for a reception and to lodge some of my guests. Holly was incredible to work with. She allowed me to visit the property before hand to make sure it was what I was looking for. She was very attentive and had her brother help my family with parking the day of. I highly recommend this place for your party or event, it is a amazing sight! My guests from Florida, Illinois and Ohio could not get enough of it.

My family came up for my daughters graduation and stayed at this lovely home. They loved it. I would highly recommend it. The older gentleman who owns it greeted us and was welcoming.

We LOVED Thornhill Farm!!! The setting is beautiful! Our family was gathered to celebrate my parents 70 th anniversary and my Dads 93rd birthday and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot. So peaceful and private...our only neighbors were the deer and wild turkeys that visited daily and right outside the windows, Definitely would love to come back!

Thank you for letting us stay. Your home had lots of room for our four children. There is a musty, damp smell in the lower area where the master bedroom is that takes a toll on your allergies but after some Zyrtec we survived the extended weekend. Thank you again for letting us stay.

This home is tucked away on such a cool property with a pond, land, quiet and peacefulness. It is like something from a Jan Brett book, with quaint little features everywhere. Holly and her dad could not have been more kind.

The house location worked very well for where we needed to go during our visit and provided a private setting. The pool table was a hit with everyone. The house was very musty smelling when we arrived and while the main rooms eventually aired out the closets never did. The house was very cluttered with assorted personal belonging (e.g. boxes of audio/video media, a case of ramen noodles under the pool table, etc) and that clutter meant no space in some of the bedroom closets (although with the musty smell in the closets no one really wanted to hang their clothes there anyway). There was an ant issue in the kitchen when we arrived but the owner arranged for a pest control company to come in and that was remedied. While the description indicated one bedroom did not have AC it was actually two (one up and one down). We had cooler/drier weather during our visit but the small BTU window units were at their limits on a couple of the warmer more humid afternoons. The washing machine broke down mid way through our visit so several of us ended up spending a few hours at the laundromat which was not in our vacation plans. The covered front porch was a nice gathering place but much of the furniture on the side deck was rusty and there were insufficient cushions for all the chairs so no one really wanted to get rust on their clothes by sitting in them. The railing at the front porch steps was very unstable and one of the top railings was cracked and not attached to the post so this caused concern given we had a couple older guest with us that might actually need to use these as opposed to only look at them. While the description does say this house is not handicap accessible, one should be aware of its unique floorplan where going between almost any two rooms in the house will require navigating some number of stairs (the main floor basically has three slightly different levels with and handful of stairs between them). Again if you are traveling with older guest you might want to take this into consideration. We have stayed at another rental unit in the Hendersonville area and while this unit offered a much better location, that advantage did not come close to offsetting its many other shortcomings and higher rate. We will not be planning to use this property for future visits and would not recommend it.

This farmhouse turned out to be a delightful place to stay with plenty of room for kids to run and adults to wander about. The kids love the old farm bell! The kitchen and bathrooms are well-equipped and there was plenty of light for us to read by - which rarely happens. On entering, you first go through the pool room which, on first impression smelled a little musty. However the rest of the House was fine and this may be unavoidable in an older home where it is often humid.

The farm house was spacious and comfortable and provided lots of space for all 9 of us. The location is fabulous and the peace and quiet of the farm is wonderful.

Stayed at Thornhill Farm and it was lovely. Had my coffee in a rocking chair on the porch watching the sun burn off the fog. The sunset on the first night was stunning. The perfect spot for a family gathering.

Although the reason for our stay was a memorial service for a close relative, the farm brought our family a touch of brightness. It was just what we needed. My daughter & son-in-law and their three small children were as happy as ever to have a safe cull-de-sac where their girls could safely run and play not the mention the winding sidewalk where they could draw with chalk and the swings and expansive porch with rockers. The many bedrooms accommodated us all. The house itself is quite spacious so we could all stretch out and not collide with each other. The kitchen was more than amply stocked with all the necessities. The location was five minutes from where we needed to be for the service and in close proximity to places where the kids could have fun as well. We had good communication with Holly the host/manager and her father was there to welcome the first arrivals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back again if the opportuity arose.
