Are you ready to ski one of the top ski resorts in the world, hike a 14,000' peak, take in a music festival, or simply relax as you walk among the quaint shops in the historic town of Breckenridge? Our wonderful log home will be your perfect base camp to enjoy all of these things and so much more!
Placer Lodge is a spectacular natural log home that has incredible views of Breckenridge Ski Area and the entire Ten Mile Range. You will be spending your vacation in a 3400 square foot home that has 5 bedrooms, a loft with fold out sofa, 3 bathrooms, and 3 living areas. The home has something for everyone. There are 6 separate television viewing areas (2 bedrooms and 4 common areas), a ping pong table on the 1st level, an 8 person hot tub with great mountain views and a fabulous 40 foot deck spanning the entire front of the house. This fantastic get away is located up scenic Boreas Pass Road, and only 200 feet from a shuttle stop for a free and easy ride into town or the ski basin so you don’t have to worry about being the bus driver for the younger members of your family. Just beyond the home, about a quarter of a mile up Baldy Road, is a National Forest trailhead for summer and winter access to the back country. It is simply an ideal location no matter what your sport or passion.
The bedrooms are furnished with authentic, hand peeled, custom built Aspen furniture that adds to the character of this lovely log home. The living room features a cathedral ceiling with fan and elk horn chandelier, a natural stone fireplace back drop, a wood burning stove, and huge windows perfect for gazing out at the ski area and mountain views. Well equipped kitchen with everything you would need to comfortably prepare meals for large groups and holiday feasts. Our home is perfect for the family who wants plenty of space to spread out and enjoy themselves or the vacation that is designed to spend time with friends or extended family. Whether you are visiting Breckenridge for the snow filled winters months to ski, snowmobile, snow shoe or ice fish, or the incredible summer months ideal for hiking, biking, 4 wheeling and fishing, or the more quiet fall months with their cooler temperatures, colorful foliage, and spawning trout, come and enjoy our home all year long and renew your body, mind and spirit with the special times each season brings.

The home suited our needs well and we were very happy. The host was very kind and accommodating and made sure that we were taken care of. The group consisted of 4 best friends since high school and we gathered together with our families and enjoyed every moment. Great trip, great house and great experience!

There were 15 of us and it was such a great place for our friends and family. More than enough room to spread out. The kitchen was equipped with all your needs. Everyone loved the hot tub. The ping pong table was a hit with the kids. Large area in the lower level to set up your ski stuff so it’s ready to go. Great views from the living room. Minutes from downtown Breck. And John the host was great! We really had a fantastic time.

The house is beautiful and well equipped for a party of 12.
Easy drive to the ski lifts and downtown Breckenridge. The surrounding area is quiet and you can easily walk to the shuttle. The only thing I would suggest is a new mattress on the sofa bed in the loft bc nobody could sleep on that one. Overall a fantastic house to stay in for your ski or summer vacation.

We stayed at the cabin while we were in Summit Co to get married. It was perfect! Rustic, luxurious, secluded. The hot tub was fantastic as well. I just cant say enough good things!

This house was wonderful - ideally located above Brackenridge downtown in the middle of a fir forest with wonderful Mountain View’s.
It was as described and a beautiful log home with high end finishes. Stocked with enough kitchen ware for all our family. May have been my favorite VRBO rental.

Home is even better in person - views were spectacular! Enjoyed the deck and the sunroom where we spent a lot of time doing puzzles. Short walk to bus stop was also very handy! Our family had a great vacation at this property!

We came up to spend a couple nights with my parents in town. We wanted a cabin feel, and views, something close to town but not in all the hustle and bustle of the main strip. This house was perfect for our needs. We had dinner on the west facing porch every evening, had beautiful wildflowers growing around the property, gorgeous sunsets, a visit from the neighborhood fox, and found the house to be cozy and comfortable.

We had a great stay with family and friends! There is plenty of room-the kids stayed downstairs and adults upstairs. We enjoyed the beautiful views and the hike up Baldy where we saw Moose and her two babies and a fox! The owner communicated very well! Also there are great shops, restaurants and breweries in Breckenridge. Highly recommend!

The hose is nearly perfect. It's big, log cabin type design, handles a crowd well and has a big deck with an amazing mountain view. Stayed with wife, kids and grandkids. We had unusually chilly and wet weather during our particular week, but that just led to more puzzles and games. Every morning was beautiful and clear, for coffee on the deck. Some of the happy hours were clear as well. The grandkids loved the hot tub.
We certainly noticed the altitude, since the house is at an elevation of 10,500 feet! After a couple of days, all but one of us adjusted to it. Just gotta ease into it. All in all, a great family vacation.

tub. The best part was we were able to watch the sunrise on the mountains from the family room.

We had our 3 kids and their families staying at the rental for a family ski vacation. Communication with the owner was excellent. Very easy check in/check out. The home, kitchen was well stocked with everything needed and more. Lots of games, puzzles for the young ones. Loved the hot tub. It was hot and ready for us to use. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star was because of the mattresses. I did read that was a concern in previous reviews, and it was true. Other than that, a wonderful place to stay!

John & Neda were awesome, always available to answer questions we had. We have been renting from VRBO for every trip we have made in the past 10 years. Our family stayed here for a week and couldn't say enough about how great it was. Plent of room for everyone. It rained a lot so we were unable to spend a lot of time out on the deck but we still had great views from inside.

Great home and location
Summer getaway for our family reunion. Great location above Breckenridge, easy access to town either driving or free bus, close to Baldy trailhead and other hiking/biking trails. House was clean and well stocked with linens and kitchen supplies for meals. Bedrooms on all three levels made it easy for the family to spread out. Deck looking out to valley was a great way to spend mornings and evenings. Highly recommend!

Perfect summer spot
We had a friend's wedding to attend in Breckenridge and this place was the perfect spot for 12 of us to stay. The views were outstanding and the property was spacious enough for us all to enjoy. One note-- the upstairs bathroom is an en suite to one of the bathrooms so made it a bit difficult to share with other upstairs guests but we figured it out. Would stay here again!

Great place to stay for a reunion of sorts with an old group of friends. Had some small issues with the microwave and the coffee machine, but we made them work so nothing really to write home about. Otherwise, a well stocked, cozy, and spacious house. Would stay again for sure.

There were some thing for everyone at this property. We love the hot tub and the ping-pong table. Plenty of space for my whole family, clean and nicely decorated. The house was very cozy. The hot water did not work on the main level bathroom, and the master bathroom shower did not drain. We found some Drano and were able to fix that. The windows were a little bit dirty, which impeded a crystal clear view of the sunset, but we managed through.
We will definitely be back.
