About this house rental

This is a 4 bedroom 2 full bathroom Log Home with walk out basement built in 2005. You are 9 Miles from Northern Lights Casino and 13 miles from the Towns of Walker & Longville in either direction. 18 hole golf course 4mi. The house sits on a private lake which is perfect for fishing. Fish from the dock, canoe, or pontoon. If you have your own boat, you are 1 Mile from the public beach/boat landing of the South Shore of Leech Lake. Huddles Resort is located 2 miles away. (boat ramp, harbor, gas, two full restaurants.)

This is a very spacious house with 3200 Sq. Footage with vaulted ceilings. Beautiful views of the lake and very quiet and peaceful surroundings. The back half of the house has windows floor to ceiling. This is perfect for a family or a group to get away from the pressures of life. Once you visit our piece of heaven you will want to come back. We are looking for repeat renters.

Awesome cabin if you’re looking to get away from the hustle-bustle of the city. Plenty of room and beds for our group. Everyone had a great time fishing and admiring the sportsman’s decor of the cabin. We were always awaiting the arrival of the Bald Eagles that would sit in the trees next to the cabin throughout the day. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us and look forward to booking with Jay again!

We loved our stay. We could go out on the lake every day. Location was wonderful for other activities. Patio with fire pit was great to sit around with family. House was well equipped. Owner was great with fast response to any communication. Can’t wait for next year!!

Jay, by far, was the best host I’ve ever encountered on this site! Communication was prompt every time and was as accommodating as can be! The cabin was completely awesome!! We will definitely be renting from Jay again!!!!

The moment we stepped inside, we were amazed at how nice the cabin was. The location was very convenient as it was right off the main road. Jay was very responsive to any questions we had. Overall, our group had a great time. I would recommend this cabin and would definitely go back!

We booked Jays house for our annual ice fishing trip. It worked out perfect for us being close to the lakes and town. I would highly recommend dinner at the piggy BBQ in Walker, and if you are by Winnie, you have to stop in and see Al at the Big Fish for a cold drink and a very goof meal.

We had such a great time at Jay's cabin. We could relax, play games, laugh and reminisce just lounging with our snacks and drinks while enjoying a fire and the lakeview. The cabin was neat, clean and furnished with everything we needed to have a relaxing weekend. We were amazed at the amount and variety of hunting and fishing items that were on display! The decor was definitely a frequent topic of conversation! We did some day trips to shop and check out the casino but spent the majority of the time at the cabin. Jay was a very accommodating host and we look forward to making a return trip in the future.

I knew Walker area busy over July 4th as we lived there 20 yrs ago. Booked cabin 10 months ago. Our host Jay amazing in correspondence, from start to finish. The cabin exceeded our expectations in every way. Had everything we wanted, needed and then some. 5 stars in every way!! No one wanted to leave. We can't wait to come back and stay again. Excellent vacation!!! Gorgeous Cabin, the decor is like a nature museum. Can't say enough good things about Landy's Lodge!

We loved our stay here. The huge cabin is beautiful, sitting on a beautiful lake. If there isn’t something you need inside the cabin, you really don’t need it. We’re returning next year. The owner is terrific to work with!!

Best View Ever!

Annual get away with the sister-in-laws. House was perfect for us! The view was beautiful and we really enjoyed the fireplace in the evening. We hung out there the whole weekend. Had intentions of going into Walker on Saturday, but got started on a puzzle and couldn't stop. Jay was so nice to talk to when he call with the arrangements and very accommodating. It was a fun and relaxing weekend. Hope to be able to come back again and bring my husband. I know he would love this place!

We had a great stay at Jay’s home in mid-September. Jay was very proactive and called a couple of days before the reservation to walk through all the details. The home is very clean, large and has all the necessities of home. For recreation, Jay has a small pontoon and two canoes available for guests to use on Horseshoe Lake. The lake is very private and quiet, which is what we wanted (only three homes on the lake and no public access). We did fish (catch and release) and caught a lot of small sunfish and bass, which was very fun. The Great Northern Trail in Chippewa National Forest is just a few miles away for hiking and scenery. While we were just a couple, the home could easily accommodate 10-12 people. We would definitely stay again and may plan additional trips to the area with Jay’s home being the base for the trip.

We were there in august 2021. We absolutely loved the cabin it had plenty and i mean plenty of space for 10 ppl with 5 including young children. The kiddos loved all the animals inside. The lake was awesome nice and clean, quiet and we caught lots of sunfish and northerns we did catch and release. Jay was wonderful in answering questions that we had fast. Would definitely recommend this place to others. It was amazing and fun filled 7 days!!!!

Memorable return to Landy Lodge

We returned to Landy Lodge after ten years away and AGAIN had a fun and memorable time. Our young grandchildren were thrilled to catch small fish off the dock and pontoon boat and their dads enjoyed pulling in a few nice-sized Northerns. What a treat to be the only folks out on the lake! We saw eagles and trumpeter swans and occasionally heard the calls of the loons. We were also there during a full moon -- gorgeous over the lake, with Jupiter brilliantly visible off to the side! We enjoyed a few rides on the canoe. Jay told us of the public beach just about a mile away -- great for swimming and building sand castles. Due to extremely dry conditions, we did not use the fire pit, but we made good use of the gas grille. Our stay was late in the season and there were several signs of "wear and tear" after consecutive weeks of summer stays. We listed our concerns to Jay and he indicated he would be taking care of them. We did not notice until a few days before our arrival that there is no WiFi at Landy Lodge. That may be an issue for some, as cell service is spotty, depending on your carrier. All-in-all, Landy Lodge is a GREAT place for a family time "at the lake," and Jay is a responsive host!

Jay was great with communicating and making sure we were set up for our week at the cabin. Lots of space, clean, and well equipped. The view of the lake was beautiful and we had a very peaceful time. Lake is ideal to be “on” and not as much “in” with the weeds. The pontoon and canoes were a great bonus. We loved watching the wildlife and enjoying the fire pit. Highly recommend this stay and I plan to visit again!

Our group was nine lifelong friends from across the country who get together every summer to golf and fish for a week. This property was perfect for what we were looking for. The property was not the fanciest place we have ever stayed, but the rustic décor and the ultimate privacy perfectly suited our needs. There is great fishing for small fish in the lake and the casino, Leech Lake, and golf courses are nearby. Our group has dealt with many property owners over the years and Jay is by far the easiest and friendliest to work with. Our group will definitely be back in the future.

This is a perfect piece of heaven. Quiet yet close enough to Walker to enjoy shopping, fishing and walking on the trails. The house was amazing. Just enough decor to find something new every day but not enough to overwhelming. We absolutely loved it.

This was a perfect getaway for Memorial Day a weekend. We wish we had more time! The lake home was very spacious with lots of amenities. Our baby nephew loved looking at all of the wildlife on the walls. We spent lots of time in Hackensack and Walker - very close and great for an afternoon. We will be back!

This place exceeded our expectations! Beautiful log home with spectacular lake view! Our fishing guide had to cancel despite the early snowfall & cold weather, but we still made the best of our time here. We still took the canoe out on the private lake, had a bonfire, played games & enjoyed some relaxation! Will Definitely come back to this place!. We'd love to check it out in the summer months, so we can fish & take out the pontoon. Enjoyed by everyone!

We had a relaxing girls’ weekend at this beautiful cabin. The photos don’t do this property justice. The views on the almost private lake are breathtaking, the firepit is amazing, and everything inside the cabin exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this cabin for a friend or family getaway and I plan to return for another stay in the near future.
