Everything above this stay was special, and that is quite a statement, given that on this trip we had stayed in another historical hotel in Mexico City and were coming to Mansion Merida from an exclusive luxury resort in Quintana Roo.
This is quintessential Merida, the mansion is a part of the history of this iconic city. At 200 years old, and still owned by the original family, every nook is filled with luxury and history.
The staff deserves 5 stars for the care and friendliness. Ivan at the reception was courteous, and helpful and saw to our comfort. It was better than having a personal conceirg. The staff of the restaurant was superb as well. Nothing can beat the breakfast in the courtyard with the fountain.
We also had a lot of fun going thru the artifacts, photographs, paintings and a note, from Frida Kahlo herself, displayed in the lobby.
The room was beautiful and sound proof and had a superb view of the street from the balcony.
Neighborhood is safe and walkable. You are 3 min walk to the main square and some great local eateries and bars.
I wish I had more days to spend here! What a way to end our trip to this beautiful country!

This hotel is amazing, you go back in time to the beginning of the 20 century with all amenities of modern time; the staff is great, always ready to serve you and help you with whatever you need, the owner Mr. Raul is gracious and take care of you personally. I just feel to go back as soon as I can. One final thought, I like to take a walk early in the morning where I live in Miami, over there is was safe and fine.

We were wowed by the beauty of the mansion on arrival. Pleasantly surprised to be upgraded and enjoyed the extra big room immensely. There was fresh fruit waiting for us in the room which was topped up the next day. On the 2 mornings we were unable to enjoy breakfast at the hotel, we were given a picnic box to go. The hotel is centrally located and near bars and restaurants so walkable to all the must see sites. Overall a wonderful experience

The hotel is excellent and all the staff is great! Only one suggestion. A hotel of this category should not ask for a voluntary tip for the cleaning staff. Hotels of similar level in other parts of the world don’t ask for any extra payments.

A beautiful old building with lovely historic furniture and ornaments. The front courtyard where breakfast is served is very special. Most of the guest rooms are facing on the road, which is one of the busier streets in the centre of Merida.

This was the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. The service was second to none. The food and drinks were terrific. Like staying in a museum but so close to all the going ons. Safest city in North America. The hotel owner is so warm and gracious. Spectacular!

The hotel has tremendous history and the staff and owner Raul were fantastic
Loved the homemade breakfast every day and the warmth of the place. Not in new condition but it’s a historical building that has big character. Would definitely come back here again and probably will because of this palace

Your scoring system is too low. This was a 10 catagory hotel. My wife and I travel every year and have stayed in many great places. This hotel was our favorite of all our travels. We have never had such service in reception, staff food service breakfast service and dinner service. We say the owner everyday and kn our last day we had breakfast and talked for 2 hours. Our stay was as if we own the property. We have decided niw to come back every year. To gave such a relaxing and wonderful time surrounded by such caring people.

This hotel really made me feel like I was at home during my stay. All of the staff members made me feel very welcome- even when I had a 7 a.m. tour, they had a packed lunch prepared and met me at the door as I departed. On my birthday, I returned from a tour to a room decorated with balloons, a “happy birthday” sign, and a slice of chocolate cake. The courtyard is beautiful; the pool area an oasis in the city. The location is perfect: only one block from the main plaza and three blocks from Santa Lucia. Avoid the big chain hotels and stay at this place, with its understated luxury, friendly staff, and easy access to Mérida’s main sites.

Our rooms were very bad no hot water , toilet and sink was not drawing. Except the firing room every thing is a modern 3 star room , that was not shown in the website . Wasted money!
Dining experience in the old colonial architecture was beautiful . We thought rooms were similar too .

Really great experience here! The little details like personal notes, a framed photo, and a visit from the owner during breakfast were really nice. They also accommodated me when I wanted to set up a note and champagne for my girlfriend. Only thing was that our room said it had a hot tub but did not. But we got over that really quick. Beautiful place!

This is a wonderful hotel. The hotel has the romance, grandeur, and visual appeal of an old colonial home, paired with amazing showers, comfortable beds, and unbelievably attentive service. We loved this hotel. And the location is the best in the city. All of the restaurants, shops, and museums are within easy walking distance.
