An approved COVID19 property by the government of Antigua and Barbuda, this home is perfect for anniversary celebrations, surprise birthdays, honeymoons, writing/work retreat, and family vacations! Its lovely tropical garden is surrounded by breathtaking vistas of the ocean and nearby hills. Relax to the sight and sounds of the ocean waves as they make their way to the shore, and on moon lit nights you can enjoy the stunning beauty of the moonlight as it shimmers across the ocean.
Olivette is well-appointed with two level home, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main level, and a third bedroom with bathroom on its lower level. We enjoyed an idyllic family getaway at Villa Olivette! Highlights of our trip included snorkelling at the nearby Cades Reef, deep sea fishing with the crew on "Pacific Marlin" out of Jolly Bay, the Thursday Reggae Night at Shirley Heights Lookout, Gina's BBQ chicken, exploring shore snorkelling and beautiful beaches on the island, etc. And, of course... the relaxing sounds of the ocean and spectacular Caribbean views from the villa's balcony. Villa Olivette is well situated to access as much or as little as one wants! The house was perfectly set up for our family trip with teenage kids. Check in and check out was very easy, thanks to Lenard. Thanks for sharing your vacation home with us so that our family could make some treasured memories together in lovely Antigua!

What's not to love! Beautiful property, with an amazing view of the ocean. We loved waking up to this scenery every day. Property manager was always available, private driver Claudelle was amazing! Don't take my word for it, take a trip to Antigua and stay at this beautiful property!

Olivette has an unrivalled position on the edge of Carlisle Bay and is completely private as not overlooked
Car is essential in this location as not much within walking distance
Track to villa is not for the novice driver but passable both care.
Lenard the local contact was very helpful
Excellent air conditioning
Would benefit from more crockery and maybe a barbecue grill
We may well return

Spent a month here. The house is very nice, the location is beautiful. Driveway is terrible, but so our the roads in Antigua. Would have given five stars but lacking in some ammenties. Cloths pins, cloths hangers, and kichen servingware was in short supply. May be ok for a short stay but were there a month. The downstairs bedroom( which was seperate from main house and may have not been used in a while) was also in need of some deep cleaning.

Undoubtedly a 5 star location with breathtaking views and sunsets to die for. We are seasoned self-caterers and know Antigua well and chose this house for its proximity to great beaches on the west coast and south east corner of the island. The house is located on the headland between Carlisle Bay and Curtain Bluff resorts in Old Road, and around a 15 min drive from Epicurean supermarket at Jolly Harbour. We weren’t provided with any check in info - even directions - prior to our arrival, meaning I had to message the owner when we landed and then given contact details for the manager.
The house is clean, light, and spacious with excellent air conditioning. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (toilet & shower, no baths). The kitchen is equipped with 6 ring gas hob/oven (needs matches to light it), a kettle, toaster, microwave, a large fridge with a good sized freezer compartment, and a filter coffee machine. There is also a large washing machine in the utility room and clothes lines immediately outside the back door to dry clothes.
A 4WD vehicle is essential for a stay. The track to the house from the road is literally a rubble dirt track and has a very steep incline at the start of it which requires very confident driving ability to navigate, especially when driving up it. The access road then straightens and smooths out as you approach the property. The drive of the property is another steep incline.
All in all a great property but access is challenging.

The night before we were to get on an airplane at 5:00 in the morning we received an email that our reservation was cancelled. I had tried to communicate with the owner several times to get check in information several days before and got no response. I would not book this property. We contacted a local management company and were able to secure a replacement unit.

Even though our stay was shortened by two days due to hurricane Tammy, our time at Villa Olivette was wonderful. The house was dated, yet probably one of most charming house we ever experienced for a vacation. The views were second to none. You have a fabulous sunrise each morning and a spectacular sunset from the porch and balconies. You have your “own” private bay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The property manager Lenard was one of best parts of this rental. He was a class act with his guidance and welcome. Our suggestion is that you either rent a solid quality car such as a jeep or 4 wheel drive to navigate the driveway and steep hill leading to the house. We suffered a flat tire exiting the hill. We ended up paying for drivers to escort us to our trips around the island. It was a first driving on the left side of the road. Our sincere suggestion is to save your money on a car rental and use it instead for drivers. Lenard had connections with local and trustworthy drivers.
There are nice beaches within walking distance. We suggest you walk to Gina’s shack which is less than a 10 minute walk for her fresh juices. Her bbq chicken is a delicious snack. The locals are nice and friendly, yet you be the first to say hello.
I would definitely come back. The house and its location on the hill was a gem. Remote and private. You would not be disappointed.

We had two beautiful weeks at Villa Olivette! The villa is perfectly located in a calm neighborhood and really not far from some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve seen in our life. We had a car to travel around the island but we were always happy to comme back at the Villa at the end of the day to relax and enjoy the sunset. The Villa is really spacious and we really enjoyed the balcony facing the ocean every morning and every evening. Lenard was so kind, thoughtful and helpful during our stay. He really is a nice guy and was a big part of the success of our trip, my boyfriend really enjoyed talking weather with him!
Overall we recommend this place 100% and hope to be back some day! :)

The place was beautiful and fully equipped with everything needed for a home from home stay! The location was fabulous with views that were simply stunning. The property manager was friendly, professionally, courteous & extremely helpful - he went over & above to ensure our stay was perfect. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars for location is because of the access road, slightly difficult to navigate, especially in the dark. That said, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

My wife, 16 month old son (and for a week in the middle, my wife's uncle and aunt) very much enjoyed our 15 days at Old Road.
Arriving in the rain and dark, finding the driveway was our second challenge, after navigating the unlit forest road from the airport in our hired Jeep!
To be fair, our family guests had a worse time of it with their taxi driver who flatly refused to come down the driveway which was poor form and easily navigable. Luckily, extremely friendly locals saved us and the property manager saved the taxi driver!
We received a very friendly welcome from the property manager who maintained excellent communications throughout our stay.
The property is a colonial style and just what we wanted. We weren't looking for a westernized property and the villa had all the charm. Views from all the windows and there was always something happening out to sea with boats mooring and often visiting the two exclusive resorts to either side of our promontory.
If you want isolation - you got it.
If you want excellent beaches around 10-15 minutes walk away - you got it
If you want to be immersed in Old Road culture at their stalls and home bars in 5 or so minutes - you got it.
Other than that, a Jeep (and I recommend something capable if just for the more than occasional massive potholes) will get you anywhere on the island in less than an hour.
We drove every inch of Antigua whilst we were there. Had a fabulous burger at a joint near English Harbour with Timothy Dalton.

I stayed for one week in July with my husband and another couple. Claudine and Lenard are wonderful hosts, making sure we had everything we need and checking in on us during our stay. The views from the balcony are breathtaking and we really enjoyed sitting out there whenever we were at the house. The upstairs beds are on the firm side. There is a dirt road that leads to the property. Part of the dirt road is steep and our FWD vehicle struggled to make it out unless the tires were in exactly the right spot on the road. Highly suggest renting an AWD/4WD vehicle (we rented an SUV but it ended up not being AWD).

Fabulous location with beautiful, stunning sea vista. Lenard was so helpful and kind, can't thank him enough. Antiguan people are some of the friendliest, warm-hearted people our family has met - they have a unique charm and sensibility that makes us want to return to this sun-kissed land.
The house is amazing and we would love to return here one day, we had a relaxing holiday.
Food: we had some marvelous meals at Gina's cook shop - an easy 10 minute walk from the house. Her breakfast and juices was outstanding! We also had some of the best (and very reasonably priced) Jerk chicken at The Countryside Jerk & BBQ Centre (about a 15 minute drive from the house on the Jonas Road on the inland route to St. John's). Also special mention to Roti King in St. John's. The folks selling homemade cakes from just a folding table beside Gina's had the BEST rum cake we've ever had!
Beaches - what can I say? All stunning. Favourite probably Galleon beach as we were regularly able to snorkel with turtles - amazing, gentle creatures (around more or less unchanged for 250 million years).
Very minor point - My wife says it might be an idea to overhaul the number of plates, bowls, sharp knives etc. We like to cook and this might be an area for a tiny bit of love and care - but as I say, minor and di not detract from this incredibly holiday - our sincere thanks to Judith, Claudine and Lenard,
See you (hopefully) in the next couple of years!

Wonderful location could not have asked for more... Check in process easy. Isolated but that is the joy of it. Buy your shopping at Jolly Harbour before you arrive. Ocean breeze just wonderful every night. Would go back.

Great view of Carlisle Bay and the sea! Very nice house with great porches. However, it would be helpful to explain that the steep and loose rock of government/neighborhood road, to get to the very steep driveway, requires great tires on a 4-wheel drive.

One of the best villas in Antigua with 360 panoramic views of the ocean breathtaking sunrise and sunsets ,love that is was secluded also …the villa was extremely clean ,big thanks to Lenard for always being able communicating with us when needed the check in was a breeze ,will definitely be back again .

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Olivette. The property provides great privacy and the views are spectacular. Gorgeous sunsets also. We loved watching the sailboats and yachts coming in and out of Carlisle Bay. Guadeloupe and St. Kitts are visible on clear days. Lenard, the property manager was amazing to deal with and always very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The house is spacious, it was just the two of us but 6 would fit comfortably.
The location is amazing. We spent mornings collecting beach glass and shells down along the shore. All the best beaches are only a short drive from the property, one of our favourites was Carlisle beach just around the corner. Fig tree drive is lovely as well and is close by.
An SUV is recommended as the driveway is a bit steep and bumpy. Overall we loved the place and hope to be back one day.

Husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The trade winds, the view of the ocean and the sound is what we look for in a property when we are on vacation in the islands. The house is a good space to spread out. We rented a car for our entire stay. Driving is a little challenging but as my husband got a little use to it we adjusted somewhat. There are several restaurants within a 3 to 6 mile radius and the beaches are lovely. The house has all one needs. We normally cook breakfast in and eat out. However, we got meals to go and came back here to the property to sit on the deck and just chill. Totally relaxing. The property manager Josiah was wonderful. Such a joy to work with, he came to pick up when we got lost from the airport and one other time. Very very responsive.. I would highly recommend the stay here, I would come back when visiting Antigua. One note the TV will freeze up frequently. I was told that the cable company is working on the frequency of this happening. Internet is strong never had a problem. I would bring my firestick next time around. Wonderful stay.

Finding the place is not easy. The road you take isn't on a map. I turned on satellite imagery and then I could see the dirt road. The beach below is seaweed and rocks. The water is crystal clear. The view is amazing. Totally worth it

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation in Antigua! Olivette is as beautiful as the photos and located in a serene, private spot overlooking the beautiful Caribbean ocean. Lenard, the property manager is super helpful and very responsive as is the property owners. Olivette was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. This was our first trip to Antigua, certainly not our last!

Stay in Paradise
Our family of 5 had an amazing stay at Olivette. The house and location are beautiful - even better than pictured and the property manager was beyond accommodating. Leonard went out of his way to address all of our needs - providing recommendations for places to eat, things to do and even driving out to find us on the road when we were lost. The only issue we had was some difficulty communicating with the owner prior to arrival. We did not receive information about the property location or contact information for the property manager until the day before we left. This caused some anxiety. However, overall, the stay was wonderful and we would highly recommend Olivette.

Old Road
On the VRBO website it says 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. Actually it has only 2 of each. Luckily, we are a family of 4 and it was not a problem.
View is beautiful. Lenard, the manager, was kind, helpful and responsive. It is near a poor village where you can see how many Antiguans live. The people were smiley and friendly even though they clearly struggle with the daily necessities of life. A lesson in itself!

Amazing view, with all the comforts of home. Never slept better. Don't know what we would have done without the help from Lenard organizing our COVID testing to go home. Love to return

Hidden gem!
We could not get anymore ocean front than this property. Majestic views and constant breeze from all rooms, terraces and patios.
On a clear day, we had views of Montserrat from the property.
Host, Judith, and property manager, Lenard were available for all questions, we did not have any issues with this beautiful villa.

A unique property in a truly stunning, secluded location
This is a well kept house with basic facilities that you need, including good wifi. The housekeeper was helpful. The real wonder of this rental however is the view and location. Secluded, with stunning views across the bay, you have the sounds of the waves washing every moment. The air con was good, and the location is next to "Old Road" one of the oldest villages on the island. It has a locals bar, which we went to and were welcomed. It's a short drive from a couple of stunning beaches, and sits between English Harbour and Jolly Harbour along the coast. We had a wonderful stay.

Breathtaking
The views from the balcony are breathtaking. We started in the morning watching the sun come up over the mountain and then could watch it set over the sea. The home is very comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and the property manager most helpful. We hope we can return, was truly an island paradise!

A local family owns Olivette. They are very helpful and responsive to any questions that you may have. There is a lovely swimming beach within a short walk as well as very good snorkelling in Carlisle Bay for stronger swimmers. The house is equipped for those who wish to cook their own meals as we did. The beds are very comfortable. The house is equipped with a washer that is very handy. We did not experience water pressure issues. The house is located in the Old Road area of Antigua, people are very friendly and helpful. Due to its location, renters do need a car, four wheel drive is preferable but not necessary.

Olivette was an amazing place to stay and truly experience Antigua!
Olivette is a beautiful house on a secluded beach that truly helped us accomplish our goal of disconnecting from the real world and enjoying our family. The greeting by Lenard at the airport was a wonderful touch. We rented a car and followed him to the grocery store and then to the house which was a nice way to get oriented to the island. Coffee on the balcony every morning while listening to the waves and watching the ocean was a great way to start the day. Highly recommend the Sunday evening barbecue at Shirley Heights, Stingray City, and snorkeling at Half Moon Bay Beach and Galleon Bay. We saw so many amazing things underwater from stingrays to starfish to sea turtles to octopus to hundreds of beautiful fish. The secluded beach under Olivette is great for hunting seashells and going out at night with flashlights to see the crabs moving around. We had a wonderful week here and highly recommend it. For us, this experience was much preferred to truly experience Antigua over a resort.

Bliss
Villa Olivette was a perfect little villa to rent in Old Road Antigua. It’s up a rocky off the beat old road and sits in a peninsula overlooking the hills, cliffs and sea. Eating breakfast daily on the veranda looking at the wildlife with the warm sea breeze in your hair keeping you cool was perfection. The villa is well equipped and beautifully looked after by Leonard and his team. It was immaculate and comfortable with simple furnishings and decor and many extras were provided that were not expected in a self catering villa, such a toilet roll and some washing powder, squeeze etc. The villa is very pleasant, but it’s the location that really sells it. Old Road itself is like much of the rest of Antigua, old, simple, shabby and charming. The locals were very friendly as we either walked or drove past them daily; everyone waves hello no matter their age. However, the villa is totally private and sits in beautifully tended gardens with stunning flowering bushes and the turquoise sea beckoning. Leonard could not have been a more accommodating manager; he even rescued us one evening when our car broke down which was well and above his requirement to do so. Judith the owner, equally lovely to talk to, has chosen th right person to look after her special home. We highly recommend this villa for anyone wishing to holiday in Antigua.

Beautiful house. Stayed for 12 days and wish we had 12 more. From the meeting@ the airport to the final day,Leonard was there if we needed him. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Leigh and Kathleen.

Accommodations were very nice. We stayed for several weeks and the place felt like Home. Any thing we needed or had questions about were handled promptly by the on island manager, Lenard.
I hope we can return some day

Fantastic Views!
We had a great time at this home to say the least! Only issue was the driveway into the property. Very rough and steep, but, once you get to the house you tend to forget about that driveway. Home is very comfortable. We enjoyed the pelicans diving for dinner most afternoons. This is truly a diamond in the rough! Yes, a car is needed here! We were a 15 min drive to Jolly Harbour for restaurants, 7 miles. Price paid for this one was on the low side. It is well worth more for sure!! Thanks so much to Tracy who met us at the airport and Lenard, the property manager, was available anytime and was very friendly and helpful.
This home, due to it's location, would be perfect for guests that stay home at night and make their dinner in. I did not care for the night time driving.
The little beach that is there is too rough to go swimming, but, has treasures to find on it. Like sea glass and shells.
All of the other reviews have said it all. Nothing negative to report here, just a great home to rent and enjoy!!!!
Thank You to Judith for allowing us to stay here!

Sweet Peaceful Retreat
We just returned from staying three nights at Olivette. It was lovely! Very well kept! It is very secluded with an amazing view! It has a well-furnished kitchen and the caretakers even had fresh fruit awaiting us. They arranged a car to be delivered to the house as well. The home is very comfortable and lovely. Nice two bedroom two baths. Air conditioning worked well and great wifi! A car is a must as nothing is within walking distance here. But we navigated the potholes pretty well and enjoyed our stay! Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay amazing!
