Q: How can you keep nightly rates lower compared to many similar size properties in the area?
A: We are not an investment property which enables us to provide our guests with amazing value (property size, location and all amenities that we offer) at a very modest price point. That would simply be impossible if we were to obtain such a property for business only.
Q: There are no cleaning charges posted in the profile. Do you clean the property yourself? Or Do you incorporate cleaning fees into your nightly rates?
A: Absolutely not to both:) We use our longtime housekeepers on a weekly basis regardless whether we host or not. As for ‘incorporating cleaning fees into our rates’ - that is simply impossible as we are using Smart Pricing software. Smart Pricing figures rates for our property by taking into account availability of rental homes in the area. Nothing else comes into play! Our nightly rates are actually very modest compared to other homes of equal value.
Q: What do you suggest guests bring with them when they arrive?
A: I would say just personal things like clothes, prescription medications, favorite bath products.
Unlike investment properties and many other homes, our house is fully stocked. Kitchen, bathrooms, wet bar area and living spaces aren’t lacking amenities. You will find great variety of pillows, comforters, blankets, throws too.
*** Bringing your own linens and towels would not only help to reduce laundry costs as we are not charging any cleaning fees but will also help environment. Laundry services are available for additional fee.

Q: There are no ‘Extra Guests’ charges posted in the profile. Do you care how many guests stay at the house?
A: We complete HOA registration form for every group and only allow registered guests on premises. However we don’t believe that there should be additional charges for a larger group of guests or bigger family. That is simply nonsense!
Q: Are pets allowed? And is there a per night pet fee?
A: We only host fully grown crate trained dogs ages 3+. There is a one time pet fee that covers the entire stay. Pet fee is posted in our profile.
Q: How many vehicles can your parking lot accommodate?
A: Our parking area is quite large. According to permits issued by Kidder Township the number of parking spaces is limited to six (6) vehicles.

A: We have been hosting way before VRBO has been around. We have guests that visit us every year for many years. We also have established relationships with number of modeling companies that use our property for commercial photography. Throughout years of hosting we welcomed so many amazing families, bachelors and bachelorettes, artists, singers, photographers, actors, writers and even a few celebrities. But most importantly, throughout our years of hosting we haven’t had a single unhappy group of guests.

Fantastic family event with a good time had by all. We enjoyed the lovely, spacious home with all of the amenities. The outside grounds were very well manicured - the hot tub and fire pit were a plus. Kids really enjoyed the beach area. Easy to navigate the water with the beach devices provided. Would absolutely recommend for a relaxing get-away. Masha is an excellent hostess who is very attentive to your requests.

Let me just say, if you are on the fence about renting this property, stop thinking and just book it! My girlfriend and I and a group of 8 other people stayed here for a birthday weekend getaway and it was everything and more we wanted! Masha the host was the most accommodating host I have dealt with and everything was perfect! From the pool table, to the hot tub, to the fire pit, everything was so cozy and we all had such a good time! The kitchen was stocked with all the appliances we needed and the bedrooms had all the linens needed as well. We went mid December and can not wait to come back in the summer! 5 out of 5 stars!

The homeowner, Masha, did above & beyond for myself and friends to make our stay more than excellent this winter. The amenities provided at her home, emails received with local food places, and things to do, along with the beautiful lake and park around the block were absolutely outstanding. There are simply not enough words to say on how amazing this experience was and how YOU NEED TO JUST BOOK! Trust me. Stop looking, and book. Clean house, linens, provides toiletries, amazing amenities to use, updated appliances, forgot a toothbrush? No worries! She has everything ready for you!! More than you think a hotel would even have. I even brought my own coffee machine because I didn't know what to expect, but didn't need it - she had THREE options for making coffee in the morning!!!! THANK YOU MASHA!! Looking forward to our next stay!

We rented this home for a long awaited family reunion. It was perfect! Spacious yet so cozy. Incredibly well stocked. . Super helpful hosts . Down the block from a lovely beach park and down the road from Jack Frost Mountain . We hope to return . Totally recommend.

The perfect place for a weekend away with a group of friends. We golfed at nearby Jack Frost National, and the proximity could not have been better. The property itself is beautiful and stands out among the other houses in the neighborhood. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our larger group. We will be back!

Perfect
This house was exactly what we were looking for. It is located on a quiet street, had an abundant of beds/bed rooms, and more than enough space for almost a dozen people to not feel cramped. The house, especially the bathrooms were clean, and filled with fresh/never opened knick knacks that friends may have forgotten to bring. Our hosts were readily available to answer any questions we had leading up to, or during our stay. One piece of advice to guests. We were always able to get an Uber where we were going, but wait times can be long, prepare for such in advance!! Thank you!

My sister's bachelorette party
I rented this house for my sisters bachelorette weekend. This ended up being the perfect house for a large group of girls. The house is gorgeous and spacious with so much to do. The hosts are quick to respond with any questions and are extremely helpful. They supply you with everything you need at the house. The private lake was amazing and we enjoyed using the paddle boat to cruise around the lake. I highly recommend staying here. My whole group had a blast.

Excellent All Around
The property is exactly as advertised (it lives up to the gorgeous photos!). It is well-maintained, full of amenities and entertainments, and perfectly suited for a reunion of friends, bachelor party, or other get together. The thing that truly sets this property apart, however, is the attentiveness and responsiveness of the host. Masha is wonderful and goes out of her way to make every phase of the rental process run smoothly. Check-in and check-out were easy, with flexible arrival and departure times to meet the group's needs. Masha thoroughly inspected the property before the group's arrival to make sure that everything was ready for the visit, leaving a gift for the guest of honor and offering courtesy firewood for the fire pit. Later, she even found a wallet that one guest had lost outside the property and mailed it back free of charge. I cannot recommend this property enough. 5 stars!

My friends and I had a great long weekend in the Poconos. The house was large and spacious, with a lot of options for activities. The house could have been a bit cleaner, but the overall experience was good.

This was the second time my group and I booked Masha’s home because we enjoyed it so much the first time. Black Bear House was one of, if not the best VRBO experiences I have ever had.
The place is absolutely stunning. The pictures look great, but it doesn't do justice compared to in person!
The interior is beautiful with high ceilings and our group really appreciated the large open area for everyone to hang out.
The layout is perfect and we loved the room set up and appreciated the linens and amenities provided!

Outdoor area is simply amazing: HUGE lawn that we utilized as our cricket field and our croquet field and our soccer field etc.
Almost forgot the best part - we were allowed to put a TENT for our teens to sleep at.
The fire pit is a great spot to sit and relax at night or really any time!
The instructions were simple yet detailed.
Every question we had along the way Masha was quick to respond and was always a pleasure to speak with.
The location is also close to several hiking spots that we enjoyed!
We couldn't have asked for a better location, we had privacy but was also convenient if we needed to go to the store. Overall a great experience. 10/10! Would definitely book again!

Without a doubt one of the BEST houses I have ever stayed at! Highly recommend!!
This place is AMAZING! Honestly it is even bigger than it looks on the photos (HUGE deck & HUGE resort-like grounds included). The living room is massive. There are really big windows too so it fills with the natural light during the day and you can see the stars/moon at night. I had a surprise birthday gathering for my girlfriend and our close friends and everyone was raving how awesome the place was. Masha was a great host and was quick to answer any questions we had. The property is on a main road so it is accessible and super easy to find but it still feel very secluded because its surrounded by trees. Lots of PRIVACY. Very FUN property to stay at! This was the best Pocono trip our friends have had!

Amazing house that feels like home
Absolutely loved this modern yet rustic chalet with a mid-century vibe. It's even nicer than the pictures. There's a large great room that's perfect for everyone. The owners are incredibly kind, helpful and very responsive. The house had nice little touches and everything you could possibly need. Would recommend and stay here again.

Fantastic Stay
My roommates and I rented this space out for a long weekend. The cabin is gorgeous, it's full of everything we needed. The skiing nearby is great and we had a great time playing pool, shooting darts, and making dinner. Masha handled the communications with us and make sure we knew everything and had everything we needed. We'd absolutely rent it again - totally recommend.

We had a great stay. The house was beautiful. Perfect size for all 10 of us. Very clean. Owners made sure you had all the amenities you could possibly need. Location was good for skiing and skirmish. Great fire pit. I would definitely recommend!

Bachelor Party Weekend

Our group absolutely loved the cabin and our weekend stay! The place had everything you could want and more. The owners were so helpful and communicative about the area and very helpful with what the property had to offer. They were so quick to answer any questions we had, too!
Our group was especially excited about the backyard fire pit and the games inside. It was a perfect getaway spot to spend time with family and friends.
I do not travel often but there is no doubt I will keep this location in mind should we ever return to the Pocono area. We would love to stay here again!

A must stay!
My family and I just returned from a weekend getaway. From the other houses we have rented before, this is one that is a.definte repeat. Masha and Leon are wonderful hosts. Their online.listing is accurt and goes even beyond. They pay attention to every little detail that you can think of. It is literally home away from home. The house is super clean, well kept, comfortable and provides all the entertainment that a family needs to.come together.

All I can say is “this place is extraordinary”, also extremely beautiful, home comes equipped with everything you need, The area is absolutely gorgeous. The home is so much fun that you don’t even want to leave, it has games activities for the kids, Cable and good Internet. I can’t wait to go back.

Black Bear House = Awesome Memories Made
If you are looking for opportunities to make memories and to have fun with family and/or friends, the Black Bear House and it’s welcoming and attentive hosts offer you a beautiful and well-equipped property to be your home away from home! Our family, including our grandchildren and our children and their spouses, were all very sorry to have to leave after a six day visit as we thoroughly enjoyed the house’s many amenities (too numerous to outline) as well as the community lake ( a short 1/2 block from the house), the yard’s great hammock and lawn for croquet (provided), and the many beautiful hiking trails and the unique Boulder Field in nearby Hickory Run State Park. We felt like we had all the “comforts of home” available to us within the house during our stay to entertain ourselves (pool, darts, games, puzzles, and internet connections) and we enjoyed preparing and sharing meals together both indoors and outdoors ... always finding the utensils and basic supplies we needed to do so. I could go on, but suffice it to say I am doubtful there could be more welcoming hosts and we hope to return one day for round two of our great family vacation in PA❣️

Great stay!
My group and I with kids we’re here for the long weekend and had a great time. Masha and Leon were most wonderful hosts. The house was very well prepared for us with thoughtful things like welcome packets for kids, goodies, and tons of info. Highly recommend the hosts and property.

Great Location! A+++ Hosts! Unique Place near a Pretty Lake - Everything was Top Notch!
This beautiful stylish house is the perfect place for a getaway in the mountains. There is so much to keep you entertained - pool table, lots of games and it's only 5 minute ride to Jack Frost for skiing. It was particularly cold during our visit but the house was cozy and warm when we arrived. The gas fire place is especially nice! There were lots of extra blankets, comforters, pillows, throws, etc around the house. The house is fully socked up with anything you could need in the kitchen, bathrooms and throughout the house.

By far the best place I have stayed
Every single one of us raved about the space and agreed that we would love to be back!
Masha's home is absolutely beautiful and the location cant be beat. She was a fantastic host and always available when needed. Clean house, linens, provided toiletries, amazing amenities to use, updated appliances. Home is steps away from a beautiful lake and the house features a huge park like yard - not fully captured on the pictures. 10/10! and would love to visit again!

The best host experience!
First of all, the house was amazing. We slept a group of 11 of us easily. There was a lot of nice space to hang out outside, and plenty of space for spending time inside as well.
What really struck me with this trip is how amazing and generous the host, Masha, was. Leading up to the trip, she answered any question i sent her within a half hour. She was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed (linens, towels, and even extra beach passes from her neighbors to make sure we all had one). Not only this, but she left us all the amenities you can imagine - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, tooth brushes, soda, snacks, condiments, etc.! Masha made this trip so easy and pleasant and we all agreed we would return! We also fit 6 cars easily, with room for more!

AMAZING!!
We booked our 2017 annual winter retreat and birthday celebration here at the Black Bear House and it was just amazing! Masha was very accommodating and also fast with responses. This house had our group busy all weekend! The living room area was big enough for our group of 13. Board games, pool table, piano, foos-ball, darts.. so much fun! We will definitely come back next time. Thanks Masha!

Terrific experience for our weekend stay! The online description is exceptionally detailed and very accurate, Masha has thought of almost anything you will need. In fact, we celebrated a birthday while there and found candles/matches in the drawer. The property was immaculate and the layout was great for hanging out with friends. Masha also helped with local recommendations for dining and attractions. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Get Away
The Black Bear House had everything we needed and more, great quiet location with plenty of things to do. The owners are very accommodating with questions and certain requests we had. I had a large group of 16 and everyone slept comfortably. Though we only stayed a long weekend we would and are considering a returned visit!
