About this house rental
Yes, you can Work From Home while at the beach. Bring the kids and they can plug in and do their school work remotely as well. Our ultra-fast Internet connection boasts up to 150Mbps download speeds and 15Mbps upload speeds with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz connections. Enough for everybody to (ahem) work from home while at Luna Shores!
LISTEN to the ocean rumble on the beach on Whidbey Island right outside our remodeled, 1750 square foot, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom beachfront home on West Beach. No need to walk to the ocean – just a few steps over the rock bulkhead and you’re already there! Look at the photos to see how close the beach really is.
RELAX as you watch the westerly views of the ocean and the beach from the living room, dining room, master bedroom, guest bedroom and upstairs sitting area.
ENJOY the life of the ocean and the sunsets from the outdoor hot tub right on the deck in front of the no-bank waterfront.
What is the view really like? The best way to know is to check out our video at the top of the page (look in the main photo at the top and click the video button in the upper left corner).
From our home at Luna Shores, you can check out the Salish Sea, Olympic Mountains, Lopez Island, San Juan Island and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can even see the lights of Victoria, BC at night!
The master and guest bedrooms are upstairs and each have queen-sized beds and separate, private Juliet balconies - perfect for whale, dolphin and sunset watching. The additional bedroom is equipped with custom-built bunk beds with extra-long twin mattresses for four kids or adults. Our home will comfortably sleep eight.
Luna Shores comes complete with all high thread count linens, a fully equipped kitchen, 150 Mbps high speed Internet and WiFi, cable TV with over 220 channels and high-def, a 60" HDTV flat screen in the living room, fireplace, large capacity washer and dryer, and parking for up to four cars.
The main floor features a warm, open kitchen with high-end appliances and quartz countertops, a dining room with seating for eight, a beach viewing area for two, a large, open living room for everyone, and worry-free flooring throughout the down stairs.
Our home away from home is located just minutes from Oak Harbor, but secluded from the noise of the city. Close by are the world famous Gallery Golf Course, Fort Ebey State Park, Deception Pass State Park, and the ferry from Coupeville to Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula.
And if you're looking for something to eat, you can cook for yourself in the redesigned kitchen while watching the waves crash on the beach, or you can enjoy one of our favorite local restaurants.
The best part about Luna Shores is that Whidbey Island has some of the lowest rainfall in Washington State, making any time of the year right for a Pacific Northwest vacation. While many parts of Washington experience annual rainfall of 30” or more (220” in the Olympic Rain Forest), Whidbey Island will enjoy less than 20” of rain each year since it is located in the Olympic Mountain Rain Shadow.
We do have a no pet policy, and this is especially important due to severe allergies in our family, including hypoallergenic animals.
Why not take in the ocean and the views for a most relaxing and memorable vacation?
Come and enjoy the spellbinding effects of sun, surf and sea breezes that are never further than your front doors. Luna Shores on the Beach....one way to experience the best of the ocean.

Enjoyed our stay so much. Relaxing. Quiet. Great location!

What an idyllic setting. The house was exactly as described. Cool ocean breeze with wonderful views. Caught a few seals and took home some great stones. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked. Had all the spices we needed. Even had stuff to make crockpot chili and a peach cobbler.
All the furniture was really comfy. It was in a great central location and the hosts were fabulous. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful property right on the beach! At high tide, it feels like you're on the water.
The host provides thoughtful items that go a long way. They are also very responsive.
There are many blankets, games/toys/books/puzzles for kids. The kitchen is stacked with dishes and useful pots/pans.
Beautiful place and a great get away.

This is our second time staying here and we absolutely love it. The owners are so quick to respond to questions. The views can’t be beat and the house is well appointed with all the things you could possibly need.

The property was beautiful and it was so nice to be so close to the ocean. We had 4 kids with us and they were amazed by the bunk beds with their own light and book pouch. They spent every moment possible out playing on the beach during low tide or in the hot tub. A few issues arose during our stay but Dean was very responsive and quick to remedy them. We are hoping to be able to visit again soon!

This house is very well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. Also has an abundance of towels and wash clothes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay - the house is cozy, clean, and provides a fabulous water view! And we enjoyed the pair of eagles that frequently roosted on the power line pole outside the kitchen window

This house was just as advertised and then some. You couldn’t be any closer to the water and the sunsets are spectacular. The hosts have literally thought of everything (including an extra toothbrush that was a lifesaver)! We loved watching the seals right outside the window and relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. Stop looking, you’ve found it!

We have rented this house three times. We just love it. The location is amazing. The kitchen/dining area looks out at both the beach and the lake on the other side, so there's so much to look at. We call this the "Otter House" because the otters play in the surf often - on this trip, we saw them almost every day. But it could also be called the Eagle House because of the bald eagles that like to perch on the utility pole outside the kitchen window. We travel with our kitchen essentials, but the kitchen was well stocked. There were spices, ziploc bags, plastic wrap, etc., and there were plenty of plates/cups/glasses and eating utensils. There are also lots of towels, blankets, and the like. We were two couples, and three of us worked remotely at various times of the stay, but there was enough room to spread out, so whoever wasn't working didn't feel we needed to tiptoe. Joseph Whidbey State Park is closed during the winter, but Fort Ebey is just a short drive away, and if you don't want to drive, you can walk on the beach. We were so sad to leave at the end of our stay!

Our family of 4 always loves coming here to stay a week on the water. Great amenities and perfect location on the water. Kids love the bunk beds and husband and I enjoy watching the waves and jets overhead from NAS Whidbey. We rarely have any issues when here, but the owners are always quick to respond if we have a question. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home filled with amenities. You could not ask for a better location, as you are 25 feet from the water’s edge… soothing sounds of the waves, wildlife in abundance (we saw a whale from the deck!), and beautiful sunsets. And, the property owner was a joy to work with. We had an incredible stay. Highly recommended!

This was an anniversary trip where we brought the entire family along. It felt truly like a world away, and such a relaxing stay as we watched the waves, walked the beaches, and explored the island. What a great location, with amazing views, and very comfortable for everyone.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this property and it was just as perfect as the first time. The house is clean, well maintained and VERY organized (the basics are well stocked as well). The check-in/out process could not be easier and the owners are very responsive. Location wise, it's an easy drive to the ferries/stores/restaurants with lots of options for hiking nearby. When you're at the house, the view of the water is unmatched - you're right on it! (and you can hear the relaxing waves from all parts of the house). Overall, we highly recommend this house and would gladly look to stay at this property again whenever we're in the area.

The house is incredible--spotless, comfortable beds, all the little touches that made this an extraordinary vacation; free park day, Eagles, gorgeous scenery --think Deception Pass, smart tv that we could use; wonderful porch with rocking chairs---superb kitchen where we cooked many fish meals. Don't miss out booking this house if you really want to relax--quiet, quiet, quiet--at this time of the year.

Beautiful location, five girlfriends who have got together for the last 30+ years. First time we have stayed at Luna Shores. Comfortable beds , furniture indoors and out quality.. Kitchen was well equipped, host made sure we had everything needed to prepare great meals. Also hot tub and sunset’s… the best ;-)

Very clean and comfortable, lots of amenities. The bunk beds in the kid's room are a lot of fun. We would definitely stay again. The bed in the main bedroom is a little worn. It would be nice to have a queen mattress in one room instead of just fulls. It was a bit tough for a couple to share the bed. Excellent views from the hot tub. We saw some whales, sea otters, seals, and a bald eagle.

The view at this house is amazing, especially at sunset. Listing photos are totally accurate - right on the water. Close to Oak Harbor and necessities like grocery stores, drug store and restaurants. Home shows some wear from what was certainly a busy summer but is in great shape. My young kids went a bit stir crazy (would have stayed somewhere with a more accessible beach given the kids but this would have been perfect for a couples getaway). Well appointed house and kitchen as others have mentioned, prompt communication with the hosts.

We've stayed at this house every summer for the past 4 years. We love the location on the water! The house is well equipped with a full kitchen, laundry soap, and stocked bathroom items.
We had an issue with the hot tub, and the owner was very quick to respond and had the issue fixed during our stay.
There's so much to do within a 20 minute drive, but honestly we rarely leave the house when we stay for a week.

Beach getaway
Great views and children loved the bunk beds. Well equipped home and everything worked well however the septic system smelled on occasion. We enjoyed the sunsets from the rocking chairs on the deck.

Lina Shores Get Away
This property is very well equipped. I have never been in a VRBO that had this many kitchen amenities.
We arrive to an amazing view, wine and cookies, and even would be coffee!

Glorious
This is a gem! The views, the sound of the waves, and watching the wildlife was perfect! Beds super comfortable, perfectly stocked kitchen, all you need is your clothes and some groceries. We even hired a private chef to cook our anniversary dinner and she had all she needed to prepare a five course dinner. Thank you for sharing your home, it was so nice to leave the Texas heat and enjoy paradise for four days!

View gets it!
Luna Shores is a great place, its on the water (you have to climb over rocks to get to it) & the view is outstanding. The property, as another reviewer stated, is getting a bit worn, some of the furniture pieces are aging- probably from the sun. The upstairs is amazing, beds super comfortable. I did give it 3 stars for the aging inside and out..but it does get a 4.5 for cleanliness. I did enjoy my stay and its location is good. :-)

Absolutely stunning ocean access and views. Whales were on full display! Property is showing a little wear from being stunning…but an absolute magical place! Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic place, best beachhouse we have stayed at in the US
This beachhouse had everything you could ever want. The kitchen was gorgeous and had every pan and dish you could ever want. The proximity to the beach, the views from the two master bedrooms and the bunkroom for my son was absolutely perfect. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else. If there is availability, just schedule it!!!

We love this place
We didn't realize until we pulled up that we had stayed in this house maybe 10 year ago. We loved it then, and we loved it this time again. The location is just so wonderful. We can see the lake with all the birds (and the river otters) out the kitchen window, and you turn around and see the waves and San Juan Islands. The house is clean and cozy, and the kitchen is great to cook in. It's nice that the two big bedrooms are equally nice with the ocean view, so we didn't have to fight over who got the master bedroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and want to come back again in the future.

Lovely spot. The snow blocked us from visiting this time but I have been here two other times and love it. You will too!

AMAZing! Only wish we could have stayed longer!!
The property is everything and more! The photos can't do the in person experience justice! Kitchen was well stocked! We had 4 adults and 3 littles and the bunk room was perfect for them! The views from the bedrooms is incredible! We loved the hot tub and heaters on the back porch! Parking was plenty for a mini-van and the keyless entry was helpful! They even had games and toys for the little ones. The fire place in the great room was so nice to have coffee or wine by. Even though it had a great room there was 4 "spaces" to congregate... Allowing the adults to have separation from the kiddos. The suggestions provided in the house book helped plan activities for both adults and kids. Our only regret was not booking more time. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay for Thanksgiving holiday
My family and I had a wonderful stay for the Thanksgiving holiday. Even in the gloomier fall weather, the view was incredible and we really enjoyed using the hot tub. The house was the perfect layout for us to all be together but have the privacy of several bedrooms. The kids really enjoyed the bunk room as well. I hope to be returning to enjoy this house in the summer time!

Sunset was amazing.
Step out right on to the beach. Not much else around, but perfect for a quiet getaway. We went in the off-season and it was like we had the beach to ourselves.

Serene Salty Air
Easy breezy stay at beautiful Luna Shores. It lived up to it's name with a Lunar Eclipse this week and extreme nocturnal low tides making the moonlight anemones glow during headlamp assisted beach walks. Such a special place.
