Check in was easy. The hosts are great to work with. The house is perfect for a family stay.

The property is truly beautiful and the house is definitely a throwback in time to the 1970 era. However, the furnishings are a bit shabby, patched with duct tape, and there is a carpet that needs a deep clean. Some items, such as the bath tubs, need freshening. When we arrived, we discovered cleanliness issues, especially the bathrooms, and some broken items, which Gary quickly addressed. Still, everything worked and it was fun, giving the horses apples and carrots.

Couldn’t stay, had to find a hotel ASAP.
The house would’ve been great if it had been cleaned, floors, ceiling fans, bathrooms, kitchen and bedding.
Lamp shades busted, tv didn’t work and duct tape keeping the couch together.

Loved the retro feel that reminded me of my childhood home out in the country in Indiana. Kids loved the games and huge spaces inside & outside. Easy drive to Winged Deer Park for Softball Nationals. Lots of space for our family of older & younger adults and children. Lovely views, so pretty driving around the area. Very peaceful and relaxing!

The house is definitely 70s in every way! Clean and comfortable. It is about a 1/2 mile off of a dead end street, so it is very quiet and peaceful. Very nice town and easy access to restaurants, stores and food. Hosts were quick to respond to questions. We enjoyed our stay.

If you are looking for a beautiful spot for a family or group getaway this is ideal. Other than 4 good size bedrooms, large living room and two good size eating areas there is a great game room with darts, pool and game table. There is also an outdoor dining table with an umbrella great for breakfast and star gazing. A little attention would go a long way with a good cleaning a replacement of some broken dining chairs. Overall we had a fun family time and left with many memories.

This spacious home is located in a quiet and somewhat secluded woods with lots of birds and horses nearby. There is plenty of space to entertain a large family and we loved the area. The grass, trees, and hills outside the home are beautiful. We saw fireflies at night and wild turkeys in the morning! It's an older home but it's clean and fun!

Owners are amazing! The property is out of the way, but still close to town. The house is big and has everything you need to really enjoy the stay. TIP: Bring aluminum foil to line pans if you cook for easy clean up lol

We loved the location and house. It was idefinitetly a throw back and the pictures are very acurate. It was just what we needed, livable and with a 2 year old I did not want a bunch of knick knacks sitting around for us to worry about him touching. The pool table kept us all entertained once we returned home from visiting family. The owners let us check in early and were very quick to respond to a hot water issue we had. I would definitely recommend if you want the true county living, but not if you are trying to keep up with the Jones'. I am also very glad we had 4WD to get up the lane to the house. I would rent again when we come back.

Our family of 5 enjoyed "The Hideout" even though we were there only for a few hours each night to clean up, have breakfast, and get some rest to attend the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough. Our 10-yo twin boys would have liked to stay and continue playing darts and explore the beautiful front and back yard. We hope we can come back to enjoy it again.
The hosts are wonderful and quick to respond to all our messages.

Retro hideaway
Beautiful, peaceful, secluded property with ample room for the family to spread out. We were very comfortable; it was relaxing out on the patios with fun activities for us such as darts, pool, smores by the fire pit and walking the long driveway through the trees.

Peaceful Country Setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the ranch. The home was spacious and comfortable. We had our coffee out on the back patio each morning which was lovely! We also enjoyed taking our pups for daily walks down to greet the horses. We highly recommend staying here and hope to be back again!

Just 35 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway (our reason for being there). Everything we needed, short walk to view the horses, quiet and comfortable.

Roomy and Fun
Besides the awesome owners and beautiful Horses, what makes this place a great place to stay is the roominess, openness, seclusion and Fun things to do! We enjoyed the peacefulness in the morning on the front patio drinking our coffee! We had fun playing pool, darts and corn hole almost every night. Also, the big Living room was a great place to entertain our Tennessee family while visiting.
Thank you Diane and Gary!

Wonderful Hideout from the world
We enjoyed our stay at the Hideout very much. The owners were easy to communicate with, prompt in responding to our questions and very understanding. The property is literally hidden away but close to everything and the views are awesome. The house is large and with a family of 7 we had more than enough space to spread out and enjoy our time.

Country heaven
The home sits back on a long lane that passes by two ponds and lots of beautiful horses. We had a relaxing time in the secluded countryside. Felt just like home to us. Owners were friendly and really nice people. We will return to stay again when able.

Serene, Roomy and Fun
We love it here! Quiet mornings on the Patio! Fun filled evenings in the Game room or sitting around the Fire pit! Can close the middle doors to give each group their privacy or quietness. Plenty of room for dinner visitors!
Also need to mention how wonderful and accommodating the Owners, Gary & Diane, are all the time!
Thank you and God Bless,
The Ramsey Family

Retro Retreat
We stayed for 8 days during Thanksgiving. Home had everything we needed to prepare large meals as there was 7 of us there the entire time with friends and family also in and out. Pool table, large yard, deer feeder, firepit and basketball hoop kept all 5 kids occupied the entire stay. The views in the fall are absolutely stunning. The property is centrally located with major ammenities near by while the house is secluded and private. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.

Great visit!
Gary and Diane were very helpful and responsive before and during our visit. Their place is beautiful and spacious and the 70s theme to the house was fun for everyone! Altogether there was 7 of us staying there and there was plenty of room for everyone. We even had our family over to visit and enjoyed both the outdoor and indoor areas with plenty of seating! We would absolutely book here again when visiting Jonesborough.

The hideaway lives up to its name
We loved the hideaway, would've been nice or if we could've stayed longer, but needed to get home. Would have enjoyed walking around outside however it rained the entire time we were there. Thank you will remember this place if we ever need to come back to Tennessee

Great place to Stay with Family and Enjoy the Serenity!
House was plenty big enough for our Family and visitors. Some were in the Living Room talking or watching TV, while others could be in the back Game Room playing pool and having fun without disturbing anybody with two doors between them. Game Room was next to Garage and Bedrooms on other end. There were plenty of towels, rags, sheets and covers. Beds were roomy and comfortable which made it easy to sleep along with the peaceful, quiet atmosphere. Loved waking up and having coffee & breakfast out on front patio listening to the birds and rooster. Loved walking around the property and seeing all the beautiful horses and seeing them as we drove in & out of the long gravel road to our little "Hideaway", as well called it. We grilled on the charcoal grill one night and the gas grill another. If the weather would have cooperated, we planned on roasting marshmallows at the fire pit one night in the back patio in the yard. The owners are very nice and welcoming people who were very responsive to our needs and requests. I gave them 4 stars this time, but sure to give 5 stars the next time, because they are new to Renting and I'm sure they learned a lot from our requests and will most likely have the property & amenities more "Renter Ready" in the future. Thanks for everything Diane & Gary!
Sincerely,
The Ramsey Family
