About this house rental
Bayview Vacation Home in Homer, Alaska invites you to experience unobstructed panoramic view. It sits atop a hillside overlooking downtown, Beluga Lake, Homer airport, Kachemak Bay, Homer Spit, Kenai Mountains and beautiful glaciers. The view from our house is very colorful, inspiring and ever-changing. Snow-capped mountains, green forests, glowing yellow meadows during sunset, and a sea of clouds along the blue bay are just some of the stunning views you can see during the day. At night, you can see the street lights sparkling on the Spit and the town. Even during rainy days, you will enjoy enchanting views of reflecting water droplets.
Our home was custom built in 2003 and faces nearly one acre of wild flower gardens. The house has a living area of 3,200 square feet, divided into upper and lower levels. In the upper level, the living room has vaulted high ceilings and huge panoramic windows built into the entire front wall. The windows allow you to soak in the views of the curved Spit, mountains and gleaming glaciers formed across the bay.
The master bedroom has one queen bed and one full bathroom equipped with a Jacuzzi bathtub. You can walk to the deck from the master bedroom or just lie down on the bed to enjoy the beautiful view.
The second bedroom has one queen size bed and one window. There is also one sofa bed for extra visitors and another bathroom near the entrance. Visitors sleeping on the sofa bed will feel like they are being embraced by the mountains in the dimming sunset. The spacious kitchen and dining area has a sliding door which leads to the deck. Additionally, the upper level is equipped with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
For privacy, a separate entrance deck leads to the lower level. There is also an indoor stairway leading to the lower level. The lower level has a living room with big windows overlooking the view and it contains two big bedrooms. One room has one queen-size bed and the other has two full-size beds. Both rooms have large windows to view the Spit and Kenai mountains. The lower level kitchen and dining area was newly built in 2008. The kitchens in each level are well equipped with all the necessary amenities for you to enjoy cooking and dining.
We purchased this lovely home in 2008 for our retirement and furnished it with the finest new furniture for your comfort. We also provided two 42” wide-screen HDTV, high speed internet, and cable/satellite TV for your entertainment. Our home sits on a private street where you can enjoy the serene wilderness, but easily get to town and the Spit within a few minutes drive. We have 3 security cameras. One is on the side of the house facing the parking area and the others are on the outside of the shed. They will be on during your stay.
Our house is the best for you to enjoy your vacation in Homer. Here are the features which you can not find from other places.
* Million-dollar's panoramic view, overlooking Homer Spit and Kachemak bay.
* A few minutes drive to the town, restaurants, Homer Spit and etc.
* Two big living rooms and two complete kitchens and dining areas. Very spacious.
* Comparable rate but more luxurious in a prestigious and quiet location very close to town.

Great view of the spit and super comfortable house! We would definitely rent again

This was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. We would definitely stay again. Our family of 3 teens and grandparents had plenty of room and all enjoyed the property. The view can't be beat. Very close to our fishing charter on the spit and all activities we did while in Homer. Excellent stay!

Location, Location, Location. The stunning view was amazing. The house is setup for a multi-family trip with two distinct floors separated from the other. That said, it’s a beautiful home with expansive view of Homer.

We really enjoyed our time in this house. It met our needs and was a great experience.

The place was just as advertised. The views are absolutely bananas. They have several different house rules that are clearly listed but it's nothing that I wouldn't do at my own house. Great place to stay in Homer.

Very spacious! Perfect for 6 adults and 2 kids! Plus room to spare. Saw a Moose in the yard!!

We had a great stay in this place. A moose came to visit in front of the house. Easy to drive down to the Homer Spit. We had one small issue with a toilet and Robin was very attentive. Someone was there within an hour to fix it. My only suggestion for improvement has to do with the long summer days- blackout curtains on the windows in the bedrooms would be helpful for sleeping. Overall, we would stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this house. Our kids were sad to leave and we didn’t want to leave the views. We never saw anything about septic issues until a recent review from someone else’s stay. This was never communicated ahead of time by manager and was not an ideal situation to have to deal with on vacation. When booking, we could tell that the house offered the bare bones of what we needed and that is what we got. This didn’t hinder our stay and we were prepared for this. We truly had a wonderful stay and we would recommend it, however, the septic issue needs figured out or communicated in advance.

Wonderful property that has spectacular views, not just of the Kenai Peninsula and Kachemak Bay but of animals and birds.

Fantastic house with incredible views of Kachemak Bay, Homer spit, and Homer floatplane airport. There was tons of room for our group to spread out and enjoy the quiet and views. The house was super clean, well stocked, modernly appointed with comfortable furniture and beds! We even had a moose visit us... fed up the hill right past the deck. We loved our time in this Homer home.

Septic system requirements…. No toilet paper must put toilet paper in the garbage and take outside each time. Six guys stayed here for a fishing trip.

Good, not great
The view was incredible, and we saw bald eagles & moose! Place was overall pretty clean, with a few minor spots that could have been better. One thing I didn’t like is that the fridge was full of someone else’s food and used bar soap in all the bathrooms. Good, but not great is how I would summarize.

The View!!!
The house was 99% perfect. The house was very clean, and spacious. We utilized every bedroom of the house and both living rooms. Plenty of space where we didn't feel right on top of each other. The view from the house is spectacular. We almost didn't want to leave for our daily activities, so we would be able to enjoy the view for longer. It is like a postcard picture. Beds were comfy, and quiet. Most times you couldn't hear if someone else got up during the night. Kitchen was big enough to have multiple people cooking and table was big enough to play games. The only thing that knocked a % off was the amount of food storage bowls and pots to cook with. We had 9 adults, and made pasta one night. No big stock pots available, so we had to use 3 small ones to boil our noodles. Food storage containers would have been nice to keep leftovers in. All in all I highly recommend this beautiful home. We loved it and definitely didn't want to leave.

Quick to downtown and spit
The views were amazing. Plenty of spacious rooms in this home. Towels and blankets aplenty. No hot tub but has bbq pit and views from every room of mountains, eagles, wild flowers and trees. Upstairs and downstairs are 2 complete full kitchens and living rooms with tv’s. Enjoyed our family vacation here and will definitely book again.

All about the views!!
The photos of this property sold me on this house!!! Not disappointed at all!! We could see the mountains, Kachemak Bay, and the Homer Spit all day which was sooo cool!! Outdoor space was so nice! Separate unit downstairs gave us room to spread out!! Room for little one to run around which was a bonus!

The house was perfect for our guys group. We were quite lucky to get clear and not too cold weather for our trip. Perfect place to sit around and enjoy the view at the end of a days fishing. There was a water leak in the lower bedroom closet, that was not indicated until we showed up, and made for keeping the downstairs fairly stinky with the door open. Seems like owners tried to get someone out to get fixed, but we never heard form anyone. Other than that, was a great house, and an incredible view. Also enjoyed watching the neighbor feeding a local bald eagle most nights.

This is a very good property. Outstanding views plus a very nice and spacious home. Was nice to sit on the deck or in the living areas and just enjoy the scenery while relaxing. Would recommend the property to others looking to enjoy something similar on hillside in Homer.

We absolutely loved staying here. We all wanted to move in. The view is second to none, with lots of space for everyone. We loved drinking out coffee while just staring at water, mountains and glaciers. Less then 10 minutes from downtown Homer that offers so much to eat and explore. Would stay again, hopefully longer next time.

The members of our rather large group all agree that this home was fabulous! The view, the eagles, the comfy beds, and the stocked cabinets all added to the joy of our vacation. Although we were greeted with a tsunami warning, we felt confidently safe up so high on the hill. We loved this place!

Easy check in process, we had everything we needed, lots of space. Absolutely amazing view and great location!

This property was perfect for our family gathering of eight. The view of Homer, the Cook Inlet and the mountains to the west was unparalleled. The house is high up the hill behind Homer and we were thrilled to have bald eagles cavorting just outside the large west facing windows. It was captivating to watch them ride the winds and swoop down to catch prey.
The property itself was spacious, extra clean and modern with comfortable bedrooms and plenty of bathroom space. We utilized both the upper and lower levels (which can be rented separately for smaller parties). Having the separation between levels worked well for us as it allowed a quieter space for the 'early to bed' crowd. There were plenty of plugs and good internet access. The kitchen was well supplied with necessary equipment and basic foodstuff so we were able to easily cook.
Communication with the owners was clear and timely. We recommend this property and would love to return one day.

We enjoyed our stay at 821 Forget Me Not Ln.
The view of Kachemak Bay and the Mountains was amazing. We met one of the neighbors and she kindly gave us great directions. She has a Labradoodle named Allie.
