We had 12 family members enjoying a traditional Labor Day mountain weekend. The rooms were large, especially the living room with plenty of space for our nightly board games. Loved the wonky floors and doors that come with a house that old. House was Just as described except there was no hot tub, which was listed under amenities. Location was perfect! Would definitely recommend for large family vacations that don’t need all the bells and whistles of “mountain mansions”. Owner was outstanding in responding to opening glitch.

We had a wonderful time on our annual Montreat family trip. This house was in a great location and provided plenty of space. Thank you!!

The house is roomy, with lots of different spaces for people to gather, including a screened porch; and it is very walkable to the various conference buildings.

This is a wonderful place for a large family/group to congregate. It has plenty of space and comes with niceties like games and puzzles and a grill. Very convenient to Montreat/Black Mountain attractions.

The house was perfect for the grandparents, 3 kids, spouses and 3 grandkids. Well stocked kitchen ( a must for our family), large living room, great screened in porch, spectacular location just a couple of minutes walk from Lake Susan. It's an old funky added onto Montreat classic house with lots of character but everything works. Would highly recommend.

Great house for a group of ladies. It is old an has an odd layout, but the rooms are spacious. The blinds in one room need repair; we didn’t use that room, so it was okay. Most of the mattresses were fine. One was pretty hard. The downstairs sitting area sofas are pretty bad, (if you are older getting up is a laughable challenge!) and rugs are heavily stained. It is a great location. We walked to Montreat Conference Center easily. The porch was great for gathering. Check in and out we’re a breeze.

We stayed for a week in Montreat with 3 families. This was a fabulous house with upgrades and plenty of space for us to spread out. Very easy walk to drop kids off at clubs, do pottery or play pickleball. We would definitely return here! Thanks for a fabulous stay!

A chuch group of 10 members stayed in this updated, spacious, and beautiful 1920s home. Over time, there have been several additions which resulted in some interesting characteristics to the home, yet the updates were performed in an extraordinary manner. The kitchen is large and well appointed with two refrigerators available. Great for a large group. Beyond the home itself, the greatest attributes were its location, ample parking (which is very unusual for Montreat), and the frequent and responsive communications with the owner. When we arrived, the home had a new disherwasher but it was not fully installed. The owned communicated this to us and effectivly coordinated its prompt installation. Being a home built in the 1920s, a person with mobility issues would have challenges. Some passages are not wide enough for a standard wheelchair, all entrances to the home have stairs, some doorways have unlevel entryways, all bedrooms are upstairs (with one of the two staircases being rather steep), and the bathooms did not have rails. Additionally, several of the bedrooms had limited storage for clothing. Unless one of these items is a show-stopper for you, I highly recommend this property. I certainly hope to stay here in the future!

This property was absolutely perfect for our family of 6 (4 children ages 1-9). We love Montreat and Black Mountain and this property was a short walk to the wonderful playground. We all loved this home so much, and it gave us plenty of space for our home base. We hope to return!

We were in Montreat for a watercolor workshop. This house was a perfect location, and it was great that everyone had their own bedroom. We cooked every night; the kitchen had everything we needed. The two refrigerators were especially nice. It’s a great home for a group!

Perfect location to take advantage of beautiful Montreat trails and walkways. House was perfect size for our large extended family to gather and celebrate Christmas/new years. The classic home was nostalgic for us since we all grew up in a similar old house in Ohio. It was like coming home!

Claire was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The home is in a great location with hiking close by and many places to walk. Park is right across the street. We wish we had more time there to explore downtown Montreat

Evrything was great. Claire was responsive to our messages. The house was beautiful and as expected. The town is quiet and quaint. Not far from restaurants and breweries. Very happy we chose to stay in this house.

My family stayed here in August. There was plenty of room for everyone to have a private room, lots of room to cook and eat together. I thought that only the 2 baths would be hard, but it actually worked fine. The porch was nice to hang out on, there are plenty of puzzles and games to keep the group busy. The location is central to several trails and the area is quiet. We even got to see a bear one morning!
Very homey and comfortable, not fancy.
Would definitely stay here again.

The house was excellent. There was lots of room. We especially enjoyed the large dining room where we could all eat together. I would have preferred a first floor bedroom.

This place suited our needs beautifully. We had just the right number of beds and the kitchen was well stocked, however I recommend bringing your own coffee filters, sugar and salt! Large dining room and living room were perfect for a large group and we were close enough to walk to the park! We’ll definitely be back!!

My sister and I rented the house to celebrate Christmas with our young adult children and our parents. We all live in different cities and look forward to this time together. This home was just right. Plenty of bedrooms that were very comfortable, a large kitchen for us to cook meals in, and a very expansive living area for us to gather. We played cards, completed more than one puzzle, and enjoyed walking through the neighborhood. What a sweet town. We only wish we had booked it for a longer period of time.

My family and I were looking for a house that would allow us to all stay together as we celebrated my Mother's 65th Birthday. This was the perfect home for us!

This home was perfect for our youth group while attending the Montreat Youth Conference. There is plenty of room for everyone to gather in the living room for games and conversation. The porch is nice and the kitchen is well stocked (except for a cheese grater!).

We came for a week of remote work and kiddos in camp at Montreat. The walkability of this home and screened porch were our favorite things. Beds were also clean and comfy.

Perfect place for our reunion of 10 family members. We enjoyed the home's spaciousness and the updates in the kitchen, and finding a tuned piano was a pleasant surprise.

This house was super spacious, it fit our large group perfectly, we were all able to gather in the living room without feeling cramped. Also we were all able to dine together because of the great dinning space. The kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans and good cutting knives also has a grill right outside of laundry area. Excellent location, close to black mountain hiking spots and park for kids. Would definitely love to stay here again. Only recommendation for future guest is to bring extra paper products. Other then that amazing place.

The house is an excellent mountain retreat in a superb location. If you want a place with real character and a true Montreat experience then you’ve found it. If you have the opportunity to stay, this is a classic old home so be sure to treat her with some kindness...

I rented this property for our bachelor/bachelorette trip. Everyone had a great time! Montreat was such a cute little town that we barely drove into downtown Asheville. Highly recommend!!

The place was really pretty and where it was located was a good place. Some of the things I think needs improvement is the beds and the furniture in the living room. Also to make the place cleaner because there was a lot of dust and spider webs.

The house is in a wonderful location. We walked to the playground, enjoyed thee paved walkway, were close to hiking trails, and the neighborhood. The deer, chipmunks, fox, and other animals amazed the children. Our vacation was wonderful.

This house has everything our family needed! We really appreciated all the thoughtful extras like paper towels, plenty of really nice dishes/glasses/silverware, basic spices, detergent, coffee maker, and a large variety of pots and pans. Spacious and comfy home for our family! Loved it!

We loved our stay at this property. The large gathering areas were wonderful for our group to be able to comfortably visit and catch up! The kitchen is well equipped for such a property in my experience. The whole place made me feel immediately at home and at peace. I would love to have stayed longer and just enjoyed the peace and quiet!

We chose Montreat for a get together with family and friends. We had a total of 10 people in the house and it easily accommodated everyone. The house is big family room where we all could hang out, a good sized kitchen, a big dining room table and a very nice screened in porch. We loved Montreat, Asheville and the Black Mountain. Short drive to water falls and great trails. The owner of the house was great and easy to work with. Great place; great area.
