About this house rental
Newer construction style home, nestled in the woods of the island. Close to saltwater marina with dock for your boat and fresh water lake a block away from the front door for fishing.
This a 1,800 sq ft. family vacation home nestled in the woods, pine needles on the walkway and deer in the yard. Very nice and modern. We just added 2 full size arcade games in the game room. The Simpson which is 4 player and RidgeRacer which also includes 4 other driving games. It is professionally cleaned after each stay, but there may be some dust missed here, spare towel in the washer there, etc... If you want to be on an island in the Puget Sound, have room to stretch out and make smores & memories w/ the family at the backyard fire pit with the occasional deer, than our place is perfect.
Quaint general store, golf course, and restaurant on the shores of Lake Josephine, one of two fresh water lakes on the island.
There is also a historical farm house with gift shops and museum that you can tour. Great time to go is during the annual Apple squeeze where you can press your cider just like the did on the island over a 100 years ago.

We had a group of 10 people, including children and adults. This was a great accomodation to fit us all. We added a tucked away futon to the twin bedroom and two kids slept on the L- shaped couch instead of the pull out sofa because it was quick and easy. Lots of linens and towels were available. Host brought us dish soap when we were running out. The arcade machines were a hit with the kids.
The best part of the location is that it's a block or two away from Lake Josephine that doesn't have any motorized boats. If you have access to kayaks, definitely bring them! Our crew had fun swimming there as well.
I will note that we had a little mouse situation on the last day, getting into our loaves of bread and a new bag of chips. We didn't have any issues the previous days and it's country living so it doesn't bother me, but just wanted to give a heads up to keep an eye on your food or keep it in a tub with a lid. The only other thing I'd wish for was enough plates and bowls for everyone, but we were able to make do.
Overall, we are very grateful to be able to stay at this place and would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you to Chris for making this available!

Bathroom towel hooks need replacing; no towels were on them when we arrived and soon found out why when couldn’t use. The dishwasher settings wouldn’t work except for a 99min cycle on one rack or something. The video game pedal broken. Coffee pot leaks underneath. The place very old and outdated, but we saw that on pictures. Good luck.

We brought our teen grandkids for a short vacation...despite the fact we had some unusually cloudy weather, we had a lovely stay. The house has a few quirks, but overall was very comfortable and lots of room to spread out as well as to be together. We went to both lakes....they were wonderful and we are always surprised at how empty they are. Be sure to plan your trip back so that you are in line for the ferry...if you miss it during the week, you can wait quite awhile since the times are spread out more. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR HOME!!

Property was as advertised. It's a little close to the resort areas for my personal preference, but others might like the location a lot. The house is larger than It seems from the description and would probably be adequate for a larger group. We may come back with kids.

We enjoyed the private small backyard and patio, and walking just 2 minutes to a lake dock. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and the large living room was good for our group to play games in. Thanks to Greg for the accommodations!

This is a great house for families! We have five kids and were joined by their grandmother, eight of us all together- there was plenty of room for all of us! First- the highlights of the property: location, location, location! Close to the dock, close to a fun park, quiet spot in the woods. Great slide and swings for littles, and a fun fire pit! There were games, including an awesome wooden chess set that was a big hit with our family! Comfy couches for family time!
And now the not so great things- this house needs some maintenance. It was dusty and quite dirty. There weren't sheets on all the beds. The towels were put away soaking wet in the closet. We spent the first day washing towels that had been put away wet. The dishes in the cupboards were also dirty and we had to wash every dish before using it. Lots of lights/lamps were burnt out. There wasn't much organization to anything. There was no dishsoap, we had to go buy some right away. The glass coffee pot was cracked and broken and the smaller coffee pot didn't work. The dishwasher was broken on the handle and the inside rack was in disrepair also.
This is a great house and we truly enjoyed our stay, it's a bummer that it isn't better maintained! Would we choose to come back?! Yes. We would. But we now expect to roll up our sleeves and clean up before relaxing.

We found this property to be spacious, clean, quiet and close enough to the lakes and amenities to enjoy all that the HOA has to offer.

The description says “ newly built”. In actuality it is 16 years old! Not new at all! Besides the lack of cleanliness, the rodent droppings crossed a line!!! ESPECIALLY since it was mentioned one year ago, and obviously not resolved! ( We found mouse traps, so the owner was well aware of these problem!)
The owner was sarcastic and unprofessional. He had the cleaning service come back out, but there was still trash under beds. This property should NOT be rented, especially to a family with a crawling baby! Besides everything else, the health issues are a real concern.
We tried to move to another location, but being peak season at A.I. there were no other properties available.
I do not recommend this property to anyone!

We had a large family gathering at this house and the experience was amazing. My wife and I got married in the back yard in a small ceremony which was simply beautiful and private! Everything you need to have an amazing time with the family and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This house boosted the perfect balance of nature and quite relaxation. We found the community to be very friendly and helpful. Our family gives this rental and all the amenities a five star rating! Once again to the owners thank very much and many blessings to you.

Property was nice and comfortable. The children's room equipped with games was a plus, oh so was the swing set in the back.
I left a note for the cleaning person with this information:
The dryer and washer were full when we arrived - we did not use them. The dishwasher was also full with clean dishes, not sure where everything goes so I did not empty, we washed dishes by hand. Also, there were no garbage cans on the property. There was a blue bin but it was full of recyclables.
left 2 bags in the kitchen. Also, my grandson tripped and hit the hallway table and a green seahorse fell and was it broke. The tag on the back said it was purchased at HomeGoods.
I can either pay for it or purchase one and mail it to you.

It was the second time we reserved the house this year.
Nice specious house with no stairs. There is plenty of everything for your needs.
Perfect covered outdoor seating area!!! We spent most of our time outside, even though it was raining.
A couple of reindeers came to visit us.
We are definitely coming back in the summer.

Honestly, I was a bit concerned about the sq. ft for our family of 6 adult and 5 children but the house is so well laid out that it was never an issue. Kids sprawled in the large living room with the TV and adults stuck with the smaller sitting room and dining room. Stocked with just about anything you need. Plenty of place for our door games, very nice back patio with plenty of seating, fire pit with wood and roasting sticks. Short walk to a dock where, with some ingenuity, kayaks can be launched or you can swim if there is no algae at the time of your stay. Both lakes were clear. Lots of parks with one having a zipline. Andy's Marine Park is a bit of a hike and ends at large rock covered beach (must have foot wear) where sand dollars are plentiful as are the crabs. A hit with everyone! Jacob's Landing is a nice easy stroll through the woods but if you've already done Andy's Marine Park ya might want to skip it. The Ole Swimming Hole at Lowell Johnsn Park is very nice and accommodating for all ages. The general store has just about all you might need. Having traveled a lot we didn't find it outrageously expensive but would still bring the bulk of our food from the mainland. Plan on getting in line for the ferry just as the previous one leaves if you want to be assured of getting on. We didn't get to load when we came over and 2 vehicles in our group didn't get to load on their targeted ferry coming back. It also happened to be a crossing with a large gap in the schedule.

We had a wedding on AI. All of my siblings stayed in this house. It was perfect for them. They were all comfortable and well rested. It is a very cozy home with tons of space.

I am not typically one to complain, but having had lots of experience at various vacation rentals, we were disappointed with the state of the house as we entered it. The carpets had not been vacuumed, freezer didn’t close properly resulting in water leakage, broken ice maker, a load of laundry in the washing machine, dirty towels hanging in the master bedroom closet, patio tables and outdoor furniture were dirty, and evidence of mice including droppings in the master bedroom closet. At least one mouse was seen under the couch in the living room during our stay. The cleaning was not completed prior to our arrival, and the presence and sight of rodents was pretty appalling. Understandably mice are a problem everywhere, but that much evidence of them in the house would suggest inadequate cleaning. Having small children in our party added to the concern. Communication with the host to have our concerns addressed was frustrating and disappointing; his suggested resolutions were equally disappointing. We would not stay here again.

I rented this place and my family and I held our Bible study and revival there. I believe that the presence of God will forever remain there. Such a peaceful and quiet place to get away to hold events.

My partner and our four little ones (5-8 years old) enjoyed this house so much! It was the perfect location for us. The house had everything a family could need to make meals, stay clean, and sleep comfortably.

The island was peaceful. The house itself was clean, orderly, and safe for children.

Place was really clean and updated on the inside. Loved the hikes and wildlife nearby. Be sure to lock up garbage before leaving; there are trash pandas on Anderson Island!

We stayed here for a wedding on the island and it was so perfect! Very clean and spacious!

The hose is nice and comfortable. However, there were only 2 washcloths, no paper towels, very little laundry detergent and no extra garbage bags. The description should mention if these things should be brought by the renter. There were sheets left in the dryer.

The house was clean and very welcoming. Chris was easy toneeach and we didnt have any issues while we were there. Close to different lake access and so accomodating!!
