El Mirador (from Spanish, from mirror to look, affording a view of the surroundings)
This gorgeous, private, and gated 1.8-acre estate is located just behind the historic Sonoma Square in the country. Newly remodeled in early 2014 & 2017, the property features 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, a large living room with 13-foot french doors offering endless views of the Sonoma hills, and a 26-foot dining patio for gathering friends and enjoying the weather.
Come enjoy the view over the pool, relax on a daybed suspended from a perfectly placed old oak tree while listening to the koi pond quietly cascading in the background, BBQ warming your dinner as you sample some local wine and cheese.
El Mirador could be one of the finest places to sit and relax after a long day of wine tasting, hiking, ballooning, biking, shopping, or just enjoying the slow-paced local atmosphere.

Spent 5 wonderful days at this lovely home with our three adult children and their spouses. We all enjoyed spending time at the house that we did very little wine tasting.

El Mirador is a perfect place to remove yourself from the square of Sonoma. Peaceful and serene which is what we wanted for this trip. We had a total of 6 (3 couples) and there was ample room. We stayed in the cottage by ourselves and enjoyed the extra bedroom for watching TV and having the extra room. The first bathroom is small and lacks ample space for your toiletries in my opinion. That suited my husband as he travels light. The beds slept good and the towels were very nice.
The kitchen was nicely stocked and well appointed with quality appliances. We enjoyed the coy fish and feeding them. Our biggest complaint was that the houses were not prepared for our arrival temperature wise. It took overnight to get to a comfortable temperature. It was controlled by Nest and should have been set back the day before or at least the morning of our arrival. It was during Sonoma heat wave. All in all, I would recommend this house for large groups that like to congregate together.

We stayed here with 4 couples. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. The bed linens and towels are very nice, the kitchen was well stocked, we enjoyed the pool and the large table on the porch. Great views and close to downtown Sonoma.

We spent 5 nights in early June with our two sons and their spouses. The layout of the house works really well with 4 king bedrooms all with their own bathroom. Two of the bedrooms are in the carriage house which is a few steps away. The location about 5 minutes above the Sonoma Square was convenient although not really walkable due to the steep incline and no shoulder. Steve provided some great information regarding local grocery delivery, names of chefs willing to cook at the property, and guide services in the area. The pool is lovely and stayed really warm throughout our stay. Having a private sleeping space for 4 couples and ample gathering space in the home made this the perfect choice for our family stay. Highly recommend this property!

El Mirador was amazing, felt like we were in the middle of the mountains! Sunrises we beautiful, property is well equipped, comfortable beds, and a quick drive away to the trailhead of Somona Overlook Trail - a must do!

House is a great location less than a 10 minute drive to Sonoma square with easy access to everything you need. It’s up in the hills so the views (and sunrises) were beautiful. Kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to host a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with the heaters on the patio. Easy check-in and lots of good recommendations from the host.

This house was just as advertised. We had a wonderful view of the sunrise most mornings. Tiffany came to the house and cooked us an amazing meal one night. There were 8 of us and we were all comfortable with our own king bedrooms with bathrooms. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This house was stocked with everything you could think of, organized and simply wonderful! I celebrated my 61st bday with my 3 adult kids, their spouses and my 23 month old grandson. Although we weren’t able to utilize the pool, the outdoor dining area and living room was incredible. Bedroom situation provided perfect alone time but allowed us to all be together. We could a big dinner one night, ordered in one night and enjoyed tons of super restaurants. Wineries were fun and we took a drive to Bodega Bay as well as Train Town for my grandson. We take a Mom trip every year and this house was our favorite. Thanks for a memorable stay!!!!!

LWe were one of four couples staying at this lovely property while we enjoyed the Sonoma area. Every couple had their own bedroom with a king size bed and a private bathroom. We enjoyed the amenities the house had to offer daily (especially the pool!). Also, we thought the location of the property was ideal to downtown Sonoma and neighboring wineries. Finally, the host, Steve, was a pleasure to work with and very attentive to all of our inquiries. Overall, we had a great time at this property and the views, sunrise and sunsets were amazing!!!

This was my first VRBO. It was a quite well done. The property is beautifully located and essentially had 4 master bedrooms. We had my wife and I, my two daughters who are married and one single daughter.
The restaurant recommendations were spot on. I would rate the El Dorado over The Girl and the Fig. Steve was unobtrusive but ready to help.
Fine experience in a beautiful city.
We would all do it again.

This was a beautiful wine country property for my husband, our 2 adult children with their partners, two great friends (that are family) and I.
The house was set up perfectly for all of our needs. The 4 bed/4 bath was great. The home was decorated beautifully with everything you need. Views are spectacular!
Steve provided wonderful information about wine tours and a private chef. We took advantage of both opportunities and it did not disappoint.
Communication with Steve was seamless, easy and he is very responsive.
Highly recommend this property and working with Steve!

Great house actually but some notes... The ANY problem is real but not being a regular we forgot about crumbs and such and woke up to waaaaaaay too many ants in the kitchen a couple times... Id swap that tired iron our for a newer model or a steamer.
Id stay here again but the ant thing needs to be addressed. Other than that no problems at all!

This home in the hills near Sonoma offers a beautiful view of the valley and hills. It is a well-maintained home with a spacious and comfortable living area and an extremely well-equipped kitchen.
We were there over Christmas and the owner offered us the use of an artificial tree; when the tree did not work, he replaced it with a real tree and also provided lights! The covered and heated patio was the perfect place for a larger group dinner. The owner was most helpful with any issue that came up.

It had been too long getting together with my old college friends and we decided to meet in Sonoma to celebrate togetherness. We chose this property due to it's scenic view and proximity to the town as well as the wineries and, of course, the pool. And the property did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded our expectations. It fit 8 adults perfectly. We frequently dined out in the patio area, we had a tv night in the very large living room and we enjoyed every evening by the pool watching the sunset. What more could anyone ask for? It was a bucket list vacation. Big thanks to the host for being attentive and for this beautiful property that gave us wonderful memories.

Great location, easy check in process, owner very attentive to requests. We were 4 couples and the home accommodated all of us gathering together while affording us privacy with each having our own bedrooms and bathrooms. Beds are VERY comfortable.

There are great views out the back of the property overlooking the mountains. Everything was in the home that we would’ve expected. Everything was very well organized and there were instructions for anything that we would’ve questioned. The home is in very good condition. An excellent place for family or a trip with friends.

All we could ask for in a rental - clean and super comfortable home (more that one guest commented that the beds were the most comfortable they'd ever slept in), with our host immediately responsive to questions and very keen on doing all he could to make our stay carefree and problem-free. Highly recommended!

Five minute drive to downtown sonoma, but feels private and secluded up on a hill. Good wifi, fully stocked kitchen, nice beds. Pool has a kid safe fence around it, which was great since we had toddlers with us.
