This was a honeymoon/family reunion trip for my husband, myself, and our 5 grown children. The house was completely stocked with everything we needed for sleeping, cooking, and relaxing, with privacy for everyone. I believe the listing mentioned having 3.5 baths, but there were actually 5 full baths. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect. We love the Chetola resort area, and it's quieter than staying in the downtown area. But still only a 5 minute drive to get downtown or to the grocery store. A 10 minute drive to Boone restaurants. We saw lots of deer and went on hikes directly from the house to the Apple Barn, Bass Lake, and Maze trail. Then we took the Glen Burney Falls hike from downtown Blowing Rock. My family had a wonderful time here and would stay again.

Nice stay in the NC mountains. The property is very nice and in a very nice, quiet neighborhood just a couple of minutes from town.

Very nice location and amenities. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and the downtown area. Recommend this property

Loved the huge windows and "treehouse" feeling. Well-stocked kitchen. Grandkids in the group enjoyed the pool and kayaking. Nice location close to hiking trails. Overall, had a wonderful time!
Just a couple of suggestions:
Pictures in listing are accurate but should show the STEEP downward drive.Three vehicles will fit, but getting turned around to exit is really tight. Guests should know this before booking.
The only other minus was lack of ability to control the AC on the lower level. It was uncomfortably cold on that level (stayed in July). Those sleeping in those bedrooms did all their showering in the main or upper level baths, and the second living area was too uncomfortable to be used. Temperature on the main and upper level was fine.

Excellent place to stay. House was very comfortable, clean and close to bass lake. Owner was very accommodating.

Spacious property with all amenities and great location near good restaurants.
Wooded area with quiet natural surroundings.
Host’s instructions and recommendations were very useful.
Parking was enough for 3 cars but it was too tight to turn around and come back out on a steep slope to the street.
Suggest to the host to not reset the WiFi password until the checkout time. Since the telephone service provider is weak, it was difficult to retrieve directions at the time of checkout.
Overall, highly recommend this property.

The house was a fun place to stay. Perfect for our family of 6. There is a wonderful trail to a lake and we enjoyed going to the Chetola resort. Kids went on a fishing excursion. Will definitely go back!

This home was nicely furnished and well equipped. The many windows looking out into the woods helped to make our rainy days more pleasant. Due to the rain every day, we were not able to enjoy the multiple outdoor sitting areas or the walking trails. Due to the mountainous area, parking is definitely limited and the indoor/outdoor stairs can be a challenge for some.

Great house for lots of family to celebrate Graduation and Mother's Day!!

We were in town for a family wedding and enjoyed our stay. There was enough space to spread out and not be in each others space. It was also a wonderful place to enjoy being with family. It was nice to have enough bathrooms to match the bedrooms...this was a bonus when preparing for the wedding.

Just as described! The house has tons of character, perfect layout with 4 beds and 5 baths so everyone has their own plus another for whoever isn't getting ready. The toilet seats are heated...what?! Amazing. The only gripe is that the mattresses are due for an upgrade ASAP. The outdoor areas are absolutely beautiful. The house is super kid friendly without feeling like it! The short walk to the lake was amazing at sunset.

We have traveled up to Boone/blowing rock every year since I was little! Including stays at the Chetola. And I think this might've been our favorite place we've stayed so far. The house had everything you needed and was great for all ages. And perhaps our favorite part were the trails right outside the front door!
We were a little bummed when we went up to see snow and winter sports and it ended up being 60° and rainy… But the house made up for it. When the rain stopped, we hit the trails and downtown and other times we spent in the resort pool and sauna. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

We loved our stay in this tastefully decorated house. It worked well with our families having bedrooms on 3 different levels with very attractive bathrooms. We enjoyed the real wood burning fireplace in the den. We love the Chetola resort and Timberlake Restaurant. We hope to go there again.

There were 10 of us, ages 4 -71! The house is beautiful, well designed and had everything. We loved being close to downtown Blowing Rick shops and restaurants. We took hikes and enjoyed fire pit and s’mores and had a wonderful time being together. Maria was very nice to work with and sent great information ahead of time! We all loved staying there!

Overall very nice well kept place!! Only thing was difficult to really walk a large family from place to areas. Better to drive with young children.

Great property and perfect house for family. We had 8 family members (4 in ages 20-26) for App State graduation. Everyone loved the house and location. Mother's Day Brunch was a huge hit and Maria was extremely helpful and communicative - including the previsit packed to things to do and places to eat. HIGHLY recommend!

What a wonderful home for a first time trip to Blowing Rock. Family and friends gathered for a long weekend where we enjoyed the town and the trails near by. The house is a real home and though we enjoyed the nearby restaurants we also had a great family dinner around the table. The walking around Bass Lake was beautiful. Recommend to all.

We had such a wonderful time staying at this property! We enjoyed all the games the house had to offer (we especially loved the ping pong table inside and bags or cornhole outside)! We loved hiking, fishing, playing tennis and generally exploring around the property! The house was exactly as described and met all of our needs! We were very happy with our vacation and would highly recommend this property to anyone!

We stayed for a weekend in February. There were 3 families and a total of 10 people. The property was large enough to accommodate our crowd. It had lots of activities for our kids (ages 4-7) including a small outdoor playlet. Property was clean and well furnished. Very convent to the town of Blowing Rock. We went skiing, but would definitely choose this property anytime of year for a mountain getaway. Lots. of outdoor seating that would have been utilized if we stayed during the spring, summer, or fall. We would stay there again.

Every November I treat my family to a weekend in the high country to find the perfect Christmas Tree! This has been our tradition for 25 years! By far, this was the best home we have ever stayed in! The home was absolutely gorgeous and close to everything we love to do (downtown Blowing Rock, shopping , restaurants, etc.). The home had everything we needed to make meals in, as well. There was room for my husband and our 3 adult children to spread out and relax. The ping pong table was a huge hit, as well as the fire pit. I have to say that our favorite thing about this house was playing games by the fireplace after a busy day at the tree farm and walking up and down Main Street. I think we all agreed that this was the best holiday weekend ever! We hope to return again next year and many years to come, to make more cherished family memories.

Will rent again. This house was great! Glad to know we have a house option in Chetola! Beautiful property and woke up to snow Sunday!
4.0 / 5.0
Very nice home situated within the very well maintained Chetola property. Very convenient to downtown BR and Cone Estate hiking trails. The house would benefit from a deeper cleaning and carpet replacement.
5.0 / 5.0
The property was very clean as far as kitchen, bathrooms, and overall but a bit dusty in some areas. Home is very cozy, roomy, and comfortable with well stocked kitchen and supplied much appreciated firewood and things like dish soap, trash bags, detergent, etc. We loved being able to hike the beautiful Moses Cone Park, tour the Cone mansion, and walk around Bass Lake. The heated toilet seats were great. Loved the fire pit area with seating for a group and the covered porch with many rocking chairs. Just minutes from quaint downtown Blowing Rock and close to Boone. We never got a chance to take advantage of the amenities on the Chetola property but would love to stay here again in the future for a longer stay!

This home was in the perfect location in Blowing Rock if you’re looking to be close to everything but enjoy a private, quiet retreat! There were convenient amenities for us and the kids. Unfortunately we were there during the remnants of Hurricane Ian, so the weather was not great, but we were able to take advantage of short breaks in the rain to do close by outdoor activities (the backyard “treehouse”, indoor pool at Chetola, the park in Blowing Rock, Bass and Chetola lake, check out a few kid friendly shops which got us in out of the rain/wind as needed, Tanger Outlets is right around the corner- where our children 6yrs and under enjoyed riding the coin rides since Tweetsie closed for the storm (they didn’t know what they were missing!) The house was stocked with a large pile of wood to burn in the fireplace inside, didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit in the backyard due to the weather, but it is very nicely set up with plenty of seating! Overall a great visit to an inviting, comfortable, and charming home with nice private spaces for our two families to enjoy. The oldest child thought she was Rapunzel sleeping in the upstairs bedroom suite all to herself in the “tallest tower”! We would definitely stay here again!

House was nice and clean with plenty of rooms for 2 families with kids. Lost internet connection for several hours. It took us a while to figure out where the router was since we couldn’t reach the owner
5.0 / 5.0
Property was great for an extended family get away. We enjoyed the resort facilities and hiking trails.
5.0 / 5.0
We were delighted with this large home for many reasons: a large, well-equipped kitchen, an amazing downstairs with a bedroom for the two granddaughters and a king room for their parents with a living space in between that had a ping pong table (!), a main floor bedroom for us (grandparents), and an upstairs bedroom that my husband used as an office with the card table and chair from the main floor master closet. We wish we'd had a king bed but everything else was outstanding. It was raining so the covered deck with six rocking chairs was especially nice. Great outdoor dining table and chairs and fire pit with chairs downhill on the property. We will definitely stay again.
