Spacious Brooklyn Apartment
Donovan's property was a very comfortable base for us to explore New York from. All 6 of us had plenty of room and beds to be comfortable. Everything was very clean and the kitchen is modern and well stocked. Loved having two subway train stations within 4 blocks. The neighborhood is not fancy, but it's a fine residential location with no safety concerns. The subways run a couple of blocks away, so if you are a very light sleeper they may disturb you. Not a problem for any of us. The mattresses are definitely firm, but not so much so that we were uncomfortable. We would rent this place again.

Long weekend in NYC
This home is really giving value for the money. Extremely caring landlord, and everything was as promised. When we had an issue with the key to the home, we got fast help resolving our problem. Only one thing that you should be aware of, it takes at least 45 min to get to Manhattan, however the Metro is really close to the home. Property is well maintained and well equiped and we had a really good stay. I recommend this home as affordable for the big family.

The House was lovely.we had everything we could of wished for.
We had a great break.
So much to do and so much to see.
We didn’t spend any time in the vicinity of the rental home. (I say home because it felt like home.)
It was great that the subway was so close.

Very nice home...very well maintained...
The house was amazing, very accommodating to the needs of our family...Donavan was very quick to respond and make sure we were taken care of...However not knowing NY at all it was quite a bit further to our scheduled Manhattan tours and broadway shows then what I thought it would be...

No issues at all!
The place is very clean and will stocked. We had lots of room for the 3 couples that stayed there. Subway trains (3 and L) are less than a 5 minute walk away. The neighbors were friendly and the deli just a few doors down had any necessities you might need. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Great accomodations
The pictures provided an accurate picture of the home. The place was in great shape. The outdoor rooftop space was an added bonus and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Donovan was an attentive host who reached out to ensure we were settled in and didn't need anything. The property is located several blocks from two different subway lines (which was very convenient) although in the evenings we used Uber/Lyft rides.;

Clean Home with a great floor plan
We have been chosing VRBOs over hotels for the last five years and have been impressed with every house we have stayed in, but Donavan's home was by far the cleanest place we have ever stayed. My wife is a neat freak and after four days she never found a fault. Very impressed. The floor plan was great and having three bathrooms was a must for our group of seven. The roof top area was a big plus and the house is just a few blocks walk to three different subway stations. Donavan contacted us often during our stay and asked how we were doing, but we never needed anything because the house was such a great place. Would stay there again if I go back to NYC.

Clean, spacious and welcoming home in the heart of Brooklyn (East New York)
We travelled from the UK, as a family group of 7 adults, looking for an affordable and comfortable base for a Christmas/New Year stay in New York.
The accommodation was clean, comfortable, well-equipped and very spacious. Our host was very helpful when organising arrival and departure. He was exceptionally friendly, cooperative and very swift to help, when he needed to rectify a minor issue with the property. (We all hope nothing goes wrong on our travels; in reality, what matters more is how problems are resolved when there are issues - Donavan was exceptional.)
We used the property as a base to explore Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg and even travelled directly from the apartment up to the Bronx.
Access to the subway (#3 and L lines) was a 5 minute walk to Livonia or Pennsylvania Avenue. The 20 minute ride into downtown Manhattan was very convenient, and very cheap compared with light transit in other major metropolitan cities.
We flew from London and landed at JFK airport. The property is perfectly positioned for this: a 15/20 minute taxi ride (or there's a public bus). The local supermarket-deli had everything we needed for most of our self-catering, although we often headed out for brunch somewhere closer to the heart of New York.
We were really pleased to have chosen to stay where we did. Those who stay in Manhattan miss out on the flavour, sights and feel of the wider New York community.
The outer suburbs of Brooklyn have had a unfair reputation (that really dates back to the 1980s): it's clearly not the most affluent community, but it is clean and the houses are well-maintained. The immediate area bounded by Livonia Ave, New Lots Ave and Pennsylvania Ave is comfortable to walk any time of day or night.
We were greeted warmly by our neighbours and needed to be no more careful than the 'street smart' behaviour that comes with travelling to any new city.
Strongly recommended as a serious option for anyone travelling to New York who is looking for a good amount of space, at a sensible price, conveniently located in what we came to understand as the real New York!

Superb!
Great property for a small group. Well maintained and nicely decorated. The owner went above and beyond when we asked to come a day early, he made sure that we were able to gain access early. Highly recommend this for a family or singles visiting New York.

Simply Amazing!!
The home is exactly as pictured! We wanted a true Brooklyn experience and this did not disappoint. Donavan is a wonderful host. The home is well appointed and very comfortable. We had 7 adult family members in our party and were not cramped in the least. Will definitely stay again!

New York Birthday trip!
Donavan's place was perfect for the 7 of us. It had everything we needed during our stay.
Super close to the subway. It was a quiet neighborhood with lots of friendly people. We wanted for nothing while we were there. We usually stay in Manhattan while we are in N.Y., but wanted a bigger place this time. We will be back for sure.

Perfect apartment for family or group.
The apartment was great. Plenty of room for everyone. Very clean and organized.Plenty of extra supplies that we could use. Donavan was a great host. He checked in on us and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable!!! I would definitely stay in this apartment again.
Here are a couple of things to consider- The train station is very close to the apartment, only 3 blocks away. However,it takes you 40 minutes to 1 hour to get to the city. On the weekends the L train doesn't run so we had to take 2 to 3 trains to get to where we wanted in Manhattan. After 4 days the travel time really started to wear on us.
If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Trains run close to apartment.

Perfect for us.
Four old buddies who hadn't seen each other in decades got together for a 5 day reunion. The place was perfect for us. Each guy had his own bedroom, and there was plenty of room to relax and recount stories. Donavan was very helpful and, besides the normal amenities, went the extra mile to provide an unusual amount of extra accoutrements to make things more comfortable. The place was spotless and well equipped, with everything you would need, including condiments, spices and other items that normally require a trip to the supermarket.
I use VRBO all the time and own a property in their inventory. I always try to provide extras that are not usually found and Donavan does the same thing. At the price, you won't find anything as good anywhere in the area.

Perfect NYC stay space, especially for family
I have travelled to NYC multiple times, but this was the first time taking my kids (ages 8 and 9). This apartment was PERFECT for us, as it gave everyone ample space and felt like home -- but with the convenience of a very close-by subway (L and 3), and playground. The neighborhood is pleasant. The rooftop gave us some pretty private outdoor space to enjoy. The apartment is well-furnished, clean and very comfortable, with multiple gathering spaces to appreciate. The commute into Manhattan to sightsee is quite easy and gave us time to rest and connect a little between stops. Flying from JFK was best choice. I loved this property and would gladly stay again, or recommend to others! Had to contact the manager with a few questions and he was EXTREMELY responsive and easy to work with.

We had a wonderful vacation. If there is a spot in Brooklyn that could be considered "quiet," this property tucked at the end of a side street across from a park would be it. The apartment was beautiful - basically what you see in the pictures is what you will see when you get there. (My wife says that she thinks it is even better than what you see in the pictures.) It took between 30 - 45 mins to get into the city, but the access was so easy and direct. The L train is literally one block over and one block down and the 2 and 3 trains are a block further than that. All of these trains take you right in to Manhattan without any transfer. If you're looking to pop in and out of the city multiple times a day, this perhaps would not be best property for you, but good luck trying to find anything this nice at this price anywhere where you could. Once we left, we were out for the day.
We were there on a very hot week, but were very comfortable sleeping all night. When we were home for dinner we made full use of the rooftop patio to eat and enjoy the views.
Donovan was also very helpful and responsive. We mostly contacted him through the HomeAway app, but it rarely if ever took more than a few minutes to get a response.
If you have a big family like we do and want to have awesome easy access to the city this is the best place for you.
