Beautiful views. Close to hiking trails and an easy walk into town. The house is fully equipped and an easy place for a family to stay.

We love this property and have stayed here whenever we go to Point Reyes. The house is comfortable, clean, well decorated. The view from the deck over the mudflat is spectacular.

Enjoyed meeting up with friends to explore Point Reyes. We were all very comfortable and especially enjoyed hanging out on the deck with its panoramic view and abundance of birdlife. Very clean home with very nice neighborhood. We hope to make this an annual trip to meet up with friends.

My group stayed in late May 2024, Point Reyes was colder than I expected and we weren’t prepared for the cool winds coming off the ocean—be prepared for cool days or nights. We spent hours on the deck watching the bird species change with the tide. The Merlin bird app helps identify birds using their vocalizations, since we aren’t birders, we relied on it heavily.
The interior is as lovely as the photographs. We were very comfortable sipping tea or wine on the window bench and enjoying the view of the wetlands when it was too cool for the deck. The kitchen was fully stocked with every gadget we needed, such a relief!
Thank you, Patty, for sharing your home. You made our annual ladies Memorial Day weekend a special one.

On the positive side, the house is lovely, was clean, convenient and well appointed. The beds were all comfortable, including the sofa-bed! Everything is labelled and easy to find. We had a very nice, relaxing time enjoying the view and each other's company one weekend, while attending a wedding down the road one of the days.
On the negative side, we had a perplexing exchange with the host before our stay. We booked in Oct. for a stay in April for 5 people and in Feb. asked to add a 6th person and adjust the charges accordingly, but when we made clear that we would need all 4 beds described in the listing, we were told that we would have to provide our own sheets for the 4th bed; this was a burden, as all of us were travelling by air. The host eventually messaged us offering to provide sheets for an increased cleaning charge, but by then we had made other arrangements and declined.
One of our party had the following comment: "...a classic example of the Single Person Tax. Clearly the host has not envisioned any possible scenario in which six people who are NOT three couples might book the property (despite the fact that it contains four beds).
The fact that you added a 6th person is immaterial here. There are plenty of scenarios in which a group of five (or even four) might want four beds. I just checked the listing and it clearly advertises 4 beds, including the sofa bed. If the host only has linens for 3 beds, they should not list the property as having 4 beds."

The four of us —two couples—have been coming to Point Reyes for decades. This is the most perfect place we’ve ever stayed in. Not only are the very wide of the Bay and beyond wonderful, but the house is very clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. We also loved listened to some old jazz records from the hosts huge collection. Thank you!!!

Loved the location, views, decorations, layout.

The view off the deck is nothing short of spectacular. If you love birds, this is the place for you! The house is quaint but well equipped (kitchen, linens, library, etc). It's a 5-minute drive from Pt Reyes town, which has an amazing bakery and plenty of restaurants.

My friend and I had a very relaxing few days in this beautiful home. We love to hike and its proximity to so many hiking trails in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore was a big plus. The configuration of the house was perfect with each bedroom on an opposite side of the house, with its own bathroom. Each bedroom has sliding doors onto the deck and the same fabulous view you can see from the entire house. The kitchen was well appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the art and furnishings were a very nice addition. Patty was very responsive and made the entire process easy. We highly recommend this house!

We love visiting Point Reyes. The neighborhood that this short term rental is located in is quiet and peaceful. The view of the preserve allowed us to see various bird activity, the changing of the tides, sunrises, and open space. The views could be seen throughout the house
The bed in the primary bedroom was exceptionally comfortable.
We will definitely return.

Loved being so close to outside, even in the shower!! Peaceful, well appointed home.

We had a quiet and pleasant stay. Beautiful view and nice space for relaxing as a family.

Quiet, great views, quick drive to most points of interest. No AC, so was hot and stuffy when we arrived; resolved easily enough by opening doors/windows. Loft bedroom not insulated from sound, so put the early risers there.

The house and location were perfect for our respite from Silicon Valley. Excellent bird watching, quiet and so peaceful. The house was comfortable and the outside deck (which is where we spent most of our time) was a bit of heaven.

We will be back!

Beautiful artsy and bohemian house on the water with amazing views. Great amenities. Short drive into the lovely town of Point Reyes Station. Area is known for oysters, enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay and would rent this again. The property listing could be improved by clarifying that the "hot tub" listed in amenities is a jacuzzi indoor bathtub and not what we usually think of as a "hot tub" where several people can sit, converse and enjoy a drink.

The home and property is even better than the photos suggest. It's perched right on the shore and the deck is idyllic. Wonderful, cozy home that offers a smart layout of rooms, allowing for easy privacy and multiple, comfortable areas to all hang out. Would recommend for all ages and group sizes.
Patty was awesome to work with and highly responsive.
We can't wait to reserve again!

This home has a great location. The view is amazing!

I am a frequent visitor to Point Reyes and have stayed at many properties. I can't believe I didn't find this one until now. It is literally overlooking the wetlands (which cannot fully be appreciated without the view this property affords) and seems completely isolated from other properties due to the location and view (and silence). Beyond the stellar views, it is a meticulous property, full of all the amenities one could want. I was there with another family of tweens, two adults and one 7 yo, and we all loved it. Super comfortable beds, great kitchen dining and common spaces, and again, the VIEW. OMG! I cannot wait to come back. One last note, I was the worst guest possible -- I lost the key. The owner had to drive out to the property at the last minute to replace it. It was a huge inconvenience to her, but she was understanding, not angry and simply charged me the fee that she should have for my fault. I appreciate it greatly and hope that we can some how make it up with a repeat booking in the future.

So quiet, so many birds. Absolutely lovely

We enjoyed staying at this property with our extended family. It had everything we needed and an amazing view! We loved playing the vinyl records! Even though it was cool outdoors the house was warm and comfortable. We highly recommend!

Everything as promised, we would definitely stay again.

Great location for a quiet vacation.
Had everything you could think of and more!

If you are a birder or love the serenity of listening to birds, Egrets Overlook is the rental for you. The house overlooks a beautiful wetland with an expansive deck. The house is well maintained, and the layout is great, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Close to Pt. Reyes Station and Pt. Reyes National Seashore. We will definitely return!

My sisters and I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in this beautiful home.
4.8
As others have said, this is a thoroughly lovely and rejuvenating place, even better than the pictures suggest, full of tasteful art and furnishing and with a perfectly outfitted kitchen. Feels wonderfully isolated but close to the town and hikes. Who knew there were such places in Point Reyes? Can't go wrong here. Looking forward to returning.

We were stunned by the wraparound views of the estuary, as beautiful in gray weather and fog as in bright sun and even at night, when the moon shone on the water. We needed a couple days of immersing in natural beauty and this house more than did the trick. The master bed is comfortable (and has as good a view as the living/dining room) and the kitchen is both cheery and very well-equipped and organized. It was great to be so close to the restaurants and shops of Point Reyes Station, the hiking trails of Point Reyes National Seashore, and the tasting room at Heidrun Meadery. Rarest of treats for city dwellers: the house and deck have been designed for exquisite privacy. We promised each other to return as soon as we woke up the first morning and could take it all in.
4.8
Feels remote, great view of Tomales Bay. So many birds!! But only minutes from Point Reyes Station where there a small town with all the real essentials. Great time. Will definitely try to revisit!
4.8
This property is great for a weekend getaway. The house is very private and the views (even during stormy weather) cannot be beat. The kitchen is very well stocked - much better than some of the other rentals we have encountered. Patty, the owner, also is very responsive and was very helpful in answering questions and resolving problems.
We are very much looking forward to visiting again!

We had an amazing stay at Egret's Overlook! The deck is magical, enabling us to see both sunrises and sunsets from its expanse, not to mention allowing up-close and personal viewing of bald eagles, golden eagles, osprey, egrets, herons, and all manner of water fowl. The incredible quiet was broken only by the hooting of owls and the occasional cacophony of low-flying geese.
The house is warm and cozy, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the beds are super comfortable. Oh, and I can't forget the the record collection: what a great plus! We can't wait to return!

Really enjoyed the peaceful water views!
4.8
We enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the wildlife, proximity to town and the beautiful deck. Very relaxing!

The property is as pictured and described. Owner was proactively communicative (in a good way). We have never stayed at a place overlooking wetlands, and we are glad we did. Very nice views here and very peaceful.
4.8
The house was lovely and very enjoyable with a calm energy. The views were spectacular at every hour as the tides ebbed and flowed on the Wetlands and the light changed throughout the day. Wondrrful.

Two friends and I took an art retreat at this wonderful house and, despite a record-breaking heatwave, it was perfect. True, there is no AC, but heat in Point Reyes used to be a non-issue. Times are changing, and the owner recognizes this. She sent me an email prior to our arrival letting us know that we were in for high temps, that all windows had good screens and shades which could be pulled to stave off the sun, and that several tower fans were available. Nights cooled off beautifully so we were able to chill the house down and remained very comfortable. Great, comfy seating in the living room (and a DVD player!) so we spent the hottest afternoon watching an art documentary. Mornings and evenings were spent on the deck overlooking the tidal wetlands chatting and birdwatching, listening to coyotes howl at night and watching deer, rabbits, and quail during the day. The deck and view are incredible; it’s truly an extension of the house, which has original, real wood floors. So here’s my one piece of advice: bring slippers, or house shoes/ flip-flops. As folks who don’t wear shoes in the house (especially when it’s not ours) we were all glad to have footwear that allowed us to flow in and out the wide open back doors and protect our feet which got dirty quickly when bare. The floors looked clean and polished but this is a damp but dusty climate and things get tracked/blown in.
Kitchen was well stocked. We cooked in and found everything we needed, all in good condition.
Thanks for a wonderful stay! We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed the peaceful setting and well-stocked, spacious house so much! Spent most of our time on the beautiful deck with amazing views. Plus it was an easy drive to the wedding festivities at Stinson Beach we’d traveled from the East Coast to attend. Wonderful weekend!!
4.8
We stayed at this home to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday. She loves nature/birding and the house could not have been better situated for both. The big windows and large deck allowed for viewing of all sorts of birds at all times of the day. The town of Point Reyes is also extremely charming and stops at The Point Reyes farmstead and the Meadery are a must. Great house. Great stay.

Beautiful, quiet, lovely house.
