This 4 bedroom / 2 bath retreat sleeps 13. Only 35 minutes from Auburn/Opelika. Great for school breaks, summer vacations, Auburn events (football, graduation, rush, etc.).
The spacious indoor and outdoor space allows for a peaceful getaway. Watch the sunrise and sunset and view the amazing wild life that Lake Martin has to offer - ducks, turtles, fish, geese, and even bald eagles. Local roads are paved and great for running/walking. Nature at it's finest draws in both adults and children.

This is a wonderful lake house for our grown kids and spouses to celebrate my husband's birthday. We hope to return soon when everyone's schedules clear at the same time again. The outdoor space, which is what is important to us, is amazing. The swim area, quiet slough, kayak, water pad, paddle board and decks were well used by our group. We had absolutely beautiful weather and it is where we spend the majority of our trip.
Having three King beds and two queen beds (plus many more) was perfect for our group of 8 adults. The kitchen was well stocked as was the games. The living area, mostly windows looking at the lake, had the most seating I have ever seen....and the view- WOW! The leatherish couches were not my favorite but others in our group liked them and I enjoyed the other fabric couch and arm chairs. If you like to sit and watch TV (we turned it on one time in 4 days) they have you covered with a very large one.
Our absolute favorite..... sitting on the lake front deck, in the Adirondack chairs, on the peninsula, watching the sunset and looking at the stars. We sat there drinking coffee in the morning too. You can see the fire tower from the front porch sitting also.
If you are looking for a modern, minimally stocked rental- this is not for you. If you want a lake house that is stocked because the family actually uses it, where things are thought about for everyday functioning- book Sunset Peninsula.

The accommodations are spacious and outside docks and seating are great for family fun. Everything we needed for a wonderful week was provided. Owners are gracious and easy to work with. We reserve from year to year so that we won’t miss out on this piece of paradise.

This house is the perfect vacation place for family. Lots of comfy space inside and out. The living area is beyond fabulous - with 2 enormous sitting areas. Very child/baby friendly- so many things at the house that saves guest from having to pack.
All if outside things was awesome also- kayaks, paddle board, large mat to float on.
We will definitely be returning!

I stayed in this wonderful lake home the week before my son’s wedding at New Water Farm, and for several days after as the family celebrations continued. The home was convenient to the venue and everything we needed for last minute supplies. Beautiful lake views and the sunsets are spectacular. The owners are so friendly and responsive. In short, nothing could have been better. Thank you!

Our family has gathered at Sunset Peninsula for four summer vacations. The owners and their property are consistently great. We love the large gathering spaces (inside and outside), fabulous lake access and views, and well equipped home. Vacationing there is relaxing, fun, and easy!

We had awful weather- literally torrential rain and we still had the BEST TIME! Owner was always polite and available for the few issues we had ( related to weather). There were only four of us that stayed because my sister’s family of 13 had rented a house next door. I would love to come back again and fill up those beds with more family. There is so much common space that would be perfect for extra large families. Also, due to weather, we didn’t get to use all the great amenities that came with the house for going out on the water, but still managed lots of laughs and relaxing time.

This property was beyond our expectations! It was very well equipped from the kitchen to the outdoors. The location was amazing because it is almost completely surrounded by water. Lots of SPACE inside and out!

This was our first time to Lake Martin and it didn't disappoint. The house and location was perfect for our family get together of 6 adults and 4 kids. We brought our pontoon and was easily kept at the private dock. Lots of extra fun stuff..lilypads, paddle boards etc. It was awesome. Beds were nice and comfy. The only negative was that every dinner plate we got out to use, had stuck on food. Dishwasher must need replacing. So we washed Everything before using. Other than that, a perfect vacay!

Ideal Lake Property
We have enjoyed this lake house several times and you can’t beat the property for lake access. It is ideal for having fun in or beside the lake. Great sunsets, fishing options, swimming, kayaking, big family meals, grilling out, star gazing, or just sitting on the huge decks and enjoying the views were some of the highlights of our week vacation.

Family Getaway
Our family of 6 had the pleasure of spending the Thanksgiving holidays at this beautiful home recently. Everything is as pictured and more! The water view (even with the decreased water level for the season) was fantastic and truly surrounds you on three sides. We enjoyed just sitting out on the decks and taking in the views.
The house was very clean, the beds all comfortable and the amenities plentiful.
The kitchen was well-stocked and sufficient for us to be able to prepare and cook our Thanksgiving feast.
Highly recommend for families looking to enjoy the beautiful Lake Martin area.

Rainy Day Oasis
Despite constant rain from a tropical storm, the layout of this house easily accommodated our group and a everyone had a great time. I can't think of a better property for gathering with friends and family. We will be back!

Wonderful Labor Day Weekend
The closeness to the water is really convenient and really makes it easy to get all the "water toys" out of the house for our preteen children. Very large family room and eating area was very spacious for 6 adults and 4 children. Pictures on VRBO do not properly show how nice and convenient the property is.

Great inside & outside experience
Exactly what our family needed for a great, long weekend getaway on the lake. The house did have a great open kitchen, dining room area and family room perfect for gathering, gaming, sports watching or just relaxing. For us, it was all about the outdoor area and lake access. Great deck with plenty of seating and water toys. We brought our boat and loved being able tie up at the dock with very easy access to the lake.
Great job by owners Matthew and Annslee with excellent communications and the great 'homey' touches in the house.
I highly recommend to anyone looking for family venue on the lake.

Take the stress away and be blessed every day on the lake!
Selfishly I would like to keep the place from being too popular so we wouldn’t have any trouble coming back as much as possible. However the place is just a piece of paradise and has to be given deserved credit. It was more enjoyable than we even imagined. Having the deck lead to the water kept the kids (and the adults) busy but relaxed for hours!! The home is great for a large family gathering, space is perfectly designed with everything you would possibly need for your stay. Bring your swimsuit and come on! The house is on a beautiful point on one of the fingers of the lake so boat traffic was light. The lake itself is grand with many places to pull up on the boat and let the kids
swim and play. We definitely plan on return trips.

Multi-generation Vacation Spot
Our family gathered at Sunset Peninsula for a vacation on our favorite lake. The property works great for everyone ranging from 15 to 89 years old. We have vacationed at this property a couple of times previously and will definitely try to return again. The owners are great to work with and seem to have thought of everything!

Wonderful property
I would highly recommend this property. The outside amenities were great, especially the flat lot, boat ramp, and the deck, which is amazing!! The main living area is nice and open, plenty of room for everyone. The home was very clean. There is also plenty of parking. With this lot, you have several areas to fish. The homeowner, Matt, was great! He was very accommodating and responded quickly to questions. We will definitely rent this property in the future!

Outstanding Stay
My group had a fantastic time in this house for a long weekend. It’s layout was perfect for a bigger group, and the location is beautiful. Everyone in my group was impressed and really enjoyed the layout. We created some great memories that weekend and big thanks to Matt and his family for lending it out to us!
