This magnificent custom home is one of our many vacation rentals in East Beach on St Simons Island, completed in 2017 and has been showcased on the 2018 Christ Church Tour of Homes. Featuring 5 bedrooms and 5-1/2 bathrooms, this designer home will wow you from the moment you step inside. With its sophisticated beachy décor, extended height 11' ceilings throughout and the open living floor plan, this is the perfect place to relax during your stay on St. Simons. Located on the beach side of Bruce Drive between 9th St. and 11th St., this home is just a short walk to the beach.
The centerpiece of the home is the gourmet chef's kitchen, and no detail has been forgotten. The kitchen is fully equipped with every appliance and utensil you will need during your stay. Featuring an oversized built-in refrigerator/freezer, gas range, two dishwashers, and an iconic large island space with space for four to eat or snack. The dining space has an expansive dining table with room to comfortably seat 10 people. Adjacent to the kitchen is a living space and wet bar for all of your entertaining needs. Enjoy all of the comforts of home while you relax on the oversized custom furniture and watch the large flat screen tv.
Step outside from the living room and enter the outdoor entertaining space of the Lanai. The outdoor kitchen is the perfect space to relax poolside at the large island and grab a cool beverage from the full-size refrigerator. A pool bath is conveniently located in the Lanai with quick access to the pool. Adjacent to the Lanai is wonderful sunroom featuring a towering fireplace and television. This area creates the perfect space to kick back and relax while enjoying the custom detail of the exotic pecky cypress wood ceiling from the large sofa.
As you exit the Lanai, you step down into your private pool area which is perfect for all members of your party. The pool features an 8" deep entry area with an in pool umbrella offering a wonderful place to lounge or for the little ones to play. The opposite side of the pool will relax all who indulge as you sit on the 6 foot in-water bench under the waterfall. Lounge chairs, dining area and extra seating areas surround the pool to ensure you can find ultimate sun and fun anytime. The pool can be heated upon request for an additional $45 / night for year round enjoyment!
The first floor spacious Primary Bedroom Suite offers all the comforts and features that one would hope for. A king bed is surrounded by two sitting areas and a large flat-screen television. The en suite primary bathroom showcases a spa like décor with double vanities, free standing soaking tub, oversized custom shower and a walk-in closet.
Upstairs spotlights another living space surrounded by a porch overlooking the pool, a coffee/beverage station and four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms to allow for perfect privacy for your entire group. Our family had a wonderful experience staying in this beautiful home. The house was perfect. Was immaculately clean and well cared for. Everything we needed was easily accessible and available - VERY well curated. The pool area was delightful and the interior was very spacious. Pictures do not really do it justice as to how large the home was. It was also just a short walk to a quiet section of beach. Very highly recommend for families or groups.

This home was very well thought out. Plenty of room for everyone and very beautifully decorated. Perfect location in proximity to the beach for the summer. We had the pool heated which was fun for the kids since it was chilly out and they couldn’t play at the beach. Management was very quick to respond when we needed anything. This home was one of our favorite rentals we have stayed at.

The house is absolutely stunning and has everything you could ever need during your stay. We made dinner multiple nights and found the kitchen was very well stocked. The house was immaculate and had so many thoughtful touches! We LOVED the ice machine :) The outdoor space was probably our favorite part as we spent many hours in the pool and on the covered patio. This is a comfortable, "like new" home with all the space and amenities I was looking for 4 couples and 6 young grandchildren. At the top of the list was the pool and the outdoor bathroom, the large, well-equipped kitchen and 3 separate living areas (2 down and 1 upstairs). Every bedroom had its own bathroom and the 6-person bunk room was a major hit with the kids. Other great features include 2 laundry rooms, a bar and a luxurious master suite. Best of all, the beach is an easy 5-minute walk away. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us!

Wading Inn was perfect house for my family to enjoy Thanksgiving week. Three BR suites on second floor with bunk room perfectly suited two married sons, one single son and four grandchildren. My wife and enjoyed the master suite on the first floor. The open floorplan on main level kept us together at all times. Weather was a bit too cool for the little ones on the beach. The heated pool more than adequately replaced the beach. You provided everything we needed for our week, even down to the apple corer for children snacks. Thsi property is recommended to all interested.

Stayed here for a friends weekend and everything was great! The kitchen/dining/living area was perfect for group gathering and hanging. The pool and outdoor porch were a private oasis while being in the middle of a charming neighborhood a block from the beach. Garage stocked with pool toys, umbrellas and beach chairs for use. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and each room has its own bathroom. The house is as nice as the pictures look, which isn’t always the case with rentals. Everything was smooth and I would definitely return to this property!

Myself, my 3 children and their spouses plus 7 grandkids checked into Wading Inn and were thrilled.
We had a fabulous time during our stay. We hated to leave. We hung out around the pool, enjoyed coffee in the mornings in the screened in porch, played cards at the dining table in the evening and walked the beach at night to view the stars over the ocean. The consensus was, it was “ the best vacation ever “. What a gorgeous home!!

WEDDING WEEK!
The Enchanted Cottage was our home base for our son's wedding week. His in laws own a home down the street so the proximity worked nicely. We never used the house to the full capacity but it was so nice to have all of the space. The house was very clean and had everything necessary to cook. Also enjoyed having plenty of parking. We'll definitely return!

I can't say enough great things about this property. Great organization throughout, especially in the kitchen. Kitchen was amazing! The decor decor was lovely! We spent most of our time in the pool or at the beach which was a block away. The management team was quick to respond with any question. Hope to return again soon!

Fantastic property that exceeded expectations
Would highly recommend staying here and am planning on making a return trip next year for certain. The house is spacious enough for everyone to spread out and was immaculate in terms of cleanliness and decor. Getting to watch some college football on the screened in porch was absolutely perfect and communications with property management was easy.

Beautiful house! Was exactly as described. The freezer was a bit slow to work. Really didn’t freeze until 3rd day there. The pool company made a mistake on the 4th day and messed up the pool so we were not able to use it for 24 hours, but other than that it was wonderful! We would rent again!

Spectacular on Saint Simons !
This beautiful rental home was nothing short of perfect in every way! First of all, cudos to Adam and Beth- the property managers. Very nice and so great to work with. We had no problems with the rental at all. This is a new, immaculate, well thought out house in a quiet and upscale neighborhood which was great for running, strolling and biking in dappled sun and shade. The beach is a close walk away, works for even young children and is un-crowded and expansive. The pool, which we paid extra to have heated ( this was well worth it for April) had plenty of sun and also some shade for the babies. The step down shallow section was amazing. The house itself had every imaginable convenience and the cooks kitchen was beyond anything we have ever rented! TVs galore, expansive bathrooms, comfortable beds, better than staying at The Cloisters! All in all a wonderful and memorable week for our family.

Amazing House!
Wow! This is a beautifully decorated beach home, with high quality materials, very comfortable and plenty of room for our family of 10. There are lots of great spots to sit & relax, read, play games, and spend time together as a family; but also plenty of space & privacy to spread out if you want to. The house is in a great location on the island. The only thing that could make it better is an ocean view (although, it is just a quick walk to the beach). Our four teenage daughters loved the bunk room!
Saint Simons Island is lovely, very laid back & relaxing, beautiful beach, great restaurants (we especially enjoyed Sal's Pizzeria, Delaney's Bistro for fine dining, Porch for southern food, and the local seafood market if you want to cook in the outstanding kitchen), great shops, and we really enjoyed renting bikes to ride on the paths around the island (highly recommend it). Renting the house was a very easy process as well. We would definitely stay here again. Our family has stayed in several VRBO homes, and this was one of our favorites. It is a true home away from home! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pool heater was not working. We specifically looked for a home with a heated pool, since we were traveling in December & knew the temperatures would be cooler, so this was disappointing (especially for the 4 teenage girls). The pool area is lovely and it would have been nice to enjoy. At the very least, update the website so that it is not misleading to renters, if it is not going to be checked and taken care of before renters arrive. Also, the fireplace was not working, which would have been nice on cool nights/mornings, and the guy who stopped by didn't seem to know why. And finally, upon arrival one of the beds seemed to have some sand in the sheets, which was unsettling. Otherwise the house seemed very clean, so maybe it was just missed.

This house is beyond gorgeous & they have thought of everything to make it a magical time. Beautiful rooms and lots of open living space. This is the perfect house to share with family or friends. Walkable to the best beach on St. Simons Island and close to restaurants and shopping. It’s the perfect place for a getaway!!! The owners have gone above and beyond to make it the perfect rental. Beautiful property & great location.
This house is gorgeous. The rooms are generous size and there are lots of separate areas for a large crowd to disperse so you're not on top of each other. Although the screened porch was the most popular gathering spot for us as was the nicely-sized pool. The owners have stocked this house well (and labeled everything). Nice furnishings, artwork and finishes. Very luxurious and relaxing. Ample parking with a 3 car garage (although one of the stalls will only fit a golf cart or a compact car). Quick walk to the beach.
Some things to consider:
* While the fridge is huge, you quickly run out of space when you're stocking it to feed a group of 10. There is a beverage fridge in the upstairs lounge area for overflow. But a wine chiller/bev fridge in the bar area off the kitchen would have been nice. As would an ice maker.
* The automatic pool vacuum is on a timer that runs from 9-11 am. Not convenient for those who like to swim laps in the AM or take a dip early in the day.
* The outdoor shower doesn't have a drain so the sand from the beach just collects on the patio - and eventually finds its way into the pool.
* The water pressure in the master bathroom shower will rip your skin off. Proceed with caution!
* The pool itself is mostly shaded and only receives a small bit of direct sun. So the water temperature was in the low 80's, which was a bit too chilly for our group. The pool does have a heater but it isn't turned on during the summer. We asked that it be turned on to warm the pool by just a few degrees and that cost $255 for the week.
* The 3-burner gas grill is a BEAST. This thing can cook a side of beef in under 5 minutes. Be careful not to lose an eyebrow.
Overall, this was a great vacation choice and we'd definitely consider staying here again.
