This home was just as advertised! It was spacious, with room for our family of 4 to spread out. It was a nice quiet neighborhood, and we felt safe in the area. Communication with the owners was great, they were very responsive.

It’s very staying at a home while on vacation

Our family of 8 (2 adults/2 teen/3 children/1 infant) stayed for 5 days.
We had a rough time with checking in. This was due to a new cleaning person taking longer than expected (~2 hr. delay), amd overall the property was clean, however the cleaning person forgot to dust the fans in the bedrooms, and soap/shampoo dispenser was missing in the upstairs bathroom.
Although the online description states basic spices and condiments would be in the kitchen, there was nothing. And while the home slept 8, the dishes in the kitchen need to be increased to accommodate the same.
The beds we’re comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, especially in the downstairs.
I would suggest upgrading the TVs to smart TV with a couple streaming services (i.e. - Netflix and Disney Plus)
If you have a smaller family (2 adult and 2-3 kids), this place would be great, but it’s needs some enhancements (mainly in the kitchen) to accommodate larger families.

Very pleased with the quite cul-de-sac. Very peaceful, friendly neighbors, very Americana setting. The one neighbor even had chickens roaming in the backyard and on Sunday deer were walking through the yard next door as we were leaving. We were only 7-8 minutes from family in St. Charles and west St Louis. The house was like living at home. Homey feeling and very comfortable. Just like home, a few missed crumbs on the floor. 👍 Our clan was very pleased.

Clean. Quiet. Comfortable overall. Beds were nice with lots of pillows. Well stocked. Only thing I missed was a keurig coffee maker.
Nice little suburb of st louis. With lots of other little suburbs around. Easy to get to st louis.

Have had a good experience staying the past three years with varying stays. Hosts have provided what we’ve needed and responsive.

We came to St. Louis for a speech tournament. This was a much cheaper option than a hotel. We shared it with another family. The house was clean and met our needs.

The inside could use a deep cleaning throughout the house. TV was not a smart TV, only cable. No access to stream channels.
For the price per night, the location, and size of house it was a value.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the red door house. There was plenty of room to gather together or get away from the crowd. Close enough to visit St. Charles, the Arch, Zoo lights and the Delmar Loop. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was clean. The 4 deer walking through the backyard each morning was a nice treat. I would stay here again when visiting St. Louis.

Spacious and well furnished. Location was good for what we wanted to do. Indoor garage parking a plus. Nice deck out back. Would stay here again in the future.

Great location. Was about 20 min from all the attractions we went to in St Louis.

Nice place with lots of room
Nice place to stay. A/C works great even in 100+ temps. Communication with host was great. Check in couldn't be easier. Easy drive into St Louis.

Red door getaway
The house was just what we were looking for. Perfect distance from the amphitheater which is why we booked here to attend a concert. But the main feature was definitely the fenced in back yard for our fur baby that has to go with us everywhere because she is 15 and has cancer so thank you for allowing us to bring that “family member” with us. Definitely renting again on the next trip.

Adequate at best
We walked in to an unlocked, stale smelling house. I cleaned the visibly dripping dust from the living room ceiling fan. The baseboards and other surfaces are also dusty and the ceiling vent in the downstairs bedroom is a very unappealing sight to wake up to each morning. Why were we charged a cleaning fee? The main reason we picked this location was for the dog friendly fenced in back yard. That was nice including the deck, although it was disappointing that the overgrown lawn wasn’t mowed until day 4 of our stay.
There is a discrepancy in the communication about check out. Our email “Here are the keys…,” clearly states check out at 12:00. Further into the body of this letter the check out instructions say check out is 1:00 p.m. or earlier. The property owner has 11:00 in the instructions binder. It wasn't a big deal to us, but we tried to share this with the owner out of courtesy and got no response other than it's 11. There was no direct contact information for the hosts even though they say 6 times in their binder, let us know if you need something. There was no real "welcome" or appreciation communicated by the owner. One of the owners was at the house one day and didn't bother to say "hello." Very odd. Time to toss the rusted bakeware and cookware. The main bath tile is pretty, however we puzzled over how to turn the cold water tap on and off. Speaking of cold, we woke up in the middle of the night to find the temp at 65 degrees and the house feeling like a meat locker. We hadn't touched it. Not sure the thermostat is working properly. Overall, the property has potential but can use a great bit of TLC. We read the reviews and they didn't come close to matching The Red Door that we rented.

Red Door in Spring
My husband and I loved the property. Perfect for our week visiting family in the area. Fenced yard was great for the dogs, and an entrance to the Fee Fee greenway trail was only a block and a half away for morning walks. Owners were prompt to reply to any questions. Plan to stay again next trip out!

Nice stay
We enjoyed our stay at the “Red Door”. The neighborhood is quiet and felt safe the entire time. Only issue we had which wasn’t a big deal, but the owners request you remove shoes at the door. I would recommend a bench or something near the door to sit on when putting shoes back on. The steps are there, but as a senior with replaced knees, it would be easier with something to sit on. We did most of our meals there which is very convenient. The first morning the coffee pot didn’t work, but Matt & Tammy were very responsive to replace it. Great place to enjoy family there.

Red Door Review
Property was in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Split level home so the bottom is a bit cooler than the top so bring your fuzzy socks if you get cold easily. Kitchen was small but very well stocked as far as cooking utensils and pots and pans. Large fenced in back yard would be great for a family with smaller children. Check in and out was seamless and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay, while in town to drop off our daughter at college. Neighborhood is quiet located near stores and easy access to expressways. Definitely would recommend.

Perfect for our extended stay
Well-maintained house in a well-cared-for neighborhood. Easy to get to most things in St. Louis and St. Charles. We stayed for a month to visit with families and found this place to be perfect for our needs. The neighborhood park was nearby and my boys spent a lot of time visiting the splash pad and basketball courts. The owners were very responsive and provided more than other VRBOs we have previously stayed in. We will definitely keep in mind for future stays.

Great Stay in St. Louis
The property was very clean and in an excellent location. The fenced in back yard and proximity to the Fey Fey Greenway was great for our dogs. The owners were easy to work with and we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

Perfect house for a family
We were remodeling our house in a different neighborhood in St. Louis and needed somewhere to stay for several months. With two kids and two dogs there weren’t a ton of options available to us but we are so lucky this one was! The boys rode bikes in the cul-de-sac and played baseball in the backyard. I absolutely loved the access point to the Fee Fee Greenway (you can access by crossing over the railroad tracks at the street that has the red signs… You’ll know what I’m talking about once you live there) I walked the dogs there almost every morning and it was so peaceful and well-kept and it felt very safe. You can also ride your bike from that point directly to the Creve Coeur lake. It’s about 2 1/2 miles there and 2 1/2 miles back. Really doable even with kids. The owners were very conscientious and quick to respond. I definitely recommend this property.

All was very comfortable and roomy. Neighborhood was friendly and close to what we needed.
Matt and Tammy were very accommodating and provided immediate responses to a few questions. So joyful to have a home to love on all my grandkids. Covid-19 surly limited our exploring, but the games provided allowed a lot of fun! Great for a dog too! Kids saw their first deer and beaver at Creve Coeur Lake!

Just a quick getaway
We had a few days open and decided to take a quick trip to St Charles. We loved finding the Red Door house. It was pet-friendly, in a quiet area and close to anything we wanted to do.
The house has everything we needed, including a fenced-in backyard that our dog could run around in (deer appearing nightly were an added bonus--doggy TV). We ate out most of our meals, but the kitchen is set up very well. We noticed lots of seasonings, condiments, etc in the cupboards and fridge for your use if needed.
Bathrooms include a hairdryer and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
We also loved how easy it was to get to things we wanted to do.
Matt and Tammy were great. They checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Even left treats for us AND the dog. In all, this is a great place to stay.

Spent a great four nights here. Managers communication was excellent. Key pad made check in easy. Fully equipped home ready to move in for your stay.
Very comfortable, clean and warm.

Visiting relatives in St. Louis for the holidays
The Red Door house worked out perfectly for our visit, even though we didn’t need a third bedroom on this trip. It was great having two bathrooms, two living rooms and a very functional kitchen for four adults, making it easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. The location worked well too—a nice quiet neighborhood, not much traffic, but close to shopping, restaurants & other amenities. We’ll definitely stay here again when visiting relatives in the area.
I think it would work great in the summer too. We noticed the grill & deck, but didn’t have a chance to use them this time.

Christmas Trip to St. Louis
The property is very well kept. Clean and has everything you need. Easy in and out from major highways and attractions. Nice suburban home. Quiet neighborhood. We would highly recommend this property.

Christmas early
Our six person family met up with my brother-in-law and his wife for an early Christmas. The house was warm and cozy. The owners were welcoming and left us a bakery treat. There were plush towels, comfortable beds, games, and cable TV...everything we could wish for in a home away from home. All appliances worked well. There was plenty of room to sit and visit including a large family room with TV. Our chihuahua nephdog, Loki, had a great time in the large fenced back yard (fence may not be tall enough for large breeds). Bathrooms were roomy, clean, and well ventilated. There were plenty of clean, soft blankets and pillows available. Attention was paid to every detail. Thank you Tammy and Matt for a wonderful experience!

Nice home, convenient location
We enjoyed our stay at The Red Door property. It's not too big, not too small, and well maintained. Had everything we needed, towels, linens, cookware, etc.
We were looking for a location between St. Louis (city) and St. Charles County because we had plans to make day trips in both directions. This property is in a nice neighborhood, yet just a few minutes from I-70, I-270, and I-64.

So comfortable and dog friendly
Five of us and two dogs had a very comfortable stay here. The fenced yard was great for the dogs. The house is as advertised, very comfortable. There were some very nice extras. Thank you for the gooey butter cake. Plus we had deer in the back yard every night, awesome!
