About this house rental
A rare find, "Lost Tides" is a fabulous, five bedroom oceanfront Victorian home nestled into 2 private acres with 470 ft. of shorefront.
Take in the stunning views of the Penobscot Bay from nearly every room while experiencing all the charm of a bygone era. Relax on the screened in porch with a glass of lemonade or a cocktail--free of bugs but full of fresh ocean air!--or take a stroll around the grounds and the original carriage house. Luxuriate in our seaside spa--no better place on the planet (but keep in mind that it is not available in winter months). Play horseshoes or cornhole as the tide comes in just a couple dozen feet away. If you're a runner, cruise down Shore Road, under a leafy cathedral, all the way to Route 1. Swim right off your own beach, search for sea glass, or just sit and enjoy the magnificent sunsets for which Maine is famous.
Tastefully updated, this home has the charm of a Grand Dame, but with all the modern amenities, including a new kitchen and 4.5 updated bathrooms. There is a dining room table for 12 in the formal dining room as well as a gorgeous farm table that seats 12 in the summer dining room overlooking the sea. The house offers a foosball table, a ping pong table, and a guest suite that is private and separate from the other four bedrooms. Perfect for family reunions, events, or those who need healthy space. There is also a large entertainment room with a big screen TV, modern and comfortable queen sized Murphy bed, and it's own bathroom and kitchenette! There are 3 original fireplaces and a quaint wooden staircase down to the beach. This gracious and magical waterside home is just a short walk to historic Bayside Village, a hidden spot that has no commercial development--not a stop light, stop sign, billboard, or store to be found! It is truly unique and feels like a trip back in time. There is a lovely old pier, where kids (and some brave adults) jump into the sparkling Penobscot Bay, plus a beautiful green park complete with an old-school playground. The charming and wonderful Northport Golf Club is a ten-minute WALK from the house or a two minute drive. Just grab your clubs and go!
Lost Tides is also a perfect place for weddings, with a large, flat lawn that can accommodate a tent. Get married under the tall oak and pine trees, looking out over the still water--an experience that will set the tone for your special day. Event fee required and can be discussed.
We've been coming to Bayside for three decades and will give you our best recommendations for restaurants, bars, hikes, shopping, and things to experience that are off the beaten tourist track. Belfast, a unique and authentic fishing town, is three miles away, with everything you could ever need--and some things you never even knew you wanted! The splendor of Acadia National Park is a 75 minute drive away, and Camden, a historic and charming tourist town, is 20 minutes to the south.

Lovely family house on the water, surrounded by chestnut and other trees. Outside seats and a fire pit for s'more.
Plenty of room inside. Perfect for our family of 9, ranging in age, 68yrs to 83 years old. Big kitchen, plenty of seating and a assortment of rooms.

There were nine of us, plenty of room to spread out. All the adult couples had king size beds and there were plenty of bathrooms. The house was well stocked allowing us to have a great breakfast before heading out for the day. We had some phenomenal evening meals, relaxed, played games and enjoyed each others company. Great place to stay … the views and sea glass excursions could not be beat. Our grandson even tried his hand at fishing, but no luck. We enjoyed Acadia, Boothbay, Camden, Belfast and Bar Harbor. Would love to come back … and maybe someday we will.

This is one of the most beautiful properties I have ever had the privilege of staying at. The home has everything you could want for an enjoyable family stay. A great kitchen. Comfortable bedrooms. A wonderful playroom with TV and game table. Ping-pong and foosball. A fire pit. And a short walk to some steps down to the beach. Just 15 minutes to Belfast, which is a wonderful seaside community with great restaurants and shops. There’s a nine hole golf course literally right around the corner from the property.

We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend while in the area for my daughter’s college graduation. The house and property was exactly as represented in the online description. It’s a really peaceful place with great energy.
The host was great. Communication was good and she responded quickly when we had a question. The property would be a great place for a large family get together. Tons of space!
We would definitely rent here again.

Rarely do you find places that are better in person than in the pictures. This is one of those places. This isn't some vacation rental business. This is a real lived-in and loved home with everything you need. Except one thing and maybe I just couldn't find them - where are the lobster crackers?! This is the only miss I can think of (arguably a considerable one for a Maine home!)

Our host was super responsive both before and during the stay. Her recommendations were the best. The house was huge and had everything we needed.

This was the perfect place for our family gathering. The location was great, close to Belfast, and a view of Penobscot Bay from every window! Great communication from Suzanne and the house is well stocked. We had a fabulous stay and would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Where to begin! First of all, Ethan and Suzanne were incredibly helpful with resources and ideas throughout my planning. It was a pleasure to work with them. All of the questions we had while we were there were answered and worked out quickly.
This property is exactly what I was looking for when I took into account the priority of my family not needing to go anywhere and just have a lovely spot to visit. We still ventured out, however. 2 of the most beautiful towns for scenery, eating, shopping and browsing art are just north and just south of this house. And plenty to see, eat and enjoy immediately around the corner with great breakfast spots, general stores and lobster rolls galore. It sounds like the area would be crowded and touristy, but it really is not. It’s just a perfect location, in my opinion, and quintessential Maine.
Back to the Bayside House, Tall Oaks… So much space in this house. We hosted 22 people for a Lobster dinner birthday party. 8 people comfortably stayed in the house, but there was plenty of room for 4 more. Plenty of bathrooms and lovely spaces, such as the porch, the vast yard, and the beach to get away for personal space. Loads of game equipment to keep younger ones busy. Beach is rocky, but holds so many treasures to observe and collect.
Only a few older family members were unable to use the stairs down to the beach, but viewing the ocean from the kitchen (and many other rooms in the house) made everyone quite happy. We hope to return! :)

This stay was a first timing taking my family away on this scale by myself and I couldn’t have been more pleased! There was enough to keep 12 people busy and relaxed at the same time. Plenty of space to prep meals and just enjoy being together. Atmosphere was comfortable without being fussy. I even had time and places to paint around the property! I hated to leave. Can’t wait to go again. Thank you, Suzanne. Mil Gracias!

Great property!! The family loved our time there! We would definitely come back!!!

Overall very pleased with house, location, cleanliness and “equipment”. Only negative is lack of Kerrigan coffee maker.
Two negatives are no one’s fault - the pollen count was very high so several of the group struggled with that. And the stairs/walk down to beach was a bit much for the older group members.
Otherwise the place met our needs nicely and we had a very good time.

This is a fabulous sprawling house with a breathtaking view from almost everywhere in the house! There are games for everyone (ping pong, horseshoes, corn hole, darts and more) and room for many. We were originally a party of 10, but ended up being 6 and there was PLENTY of room even if all 10 of us had come. We had meals for 10 at the house as my family lives nearby, and the kitchen was spacious and well-appointed. The bedrooms are beautiful, the beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms. Beyond the house itself, the location is wonderful. LOTS of birds, 180 degree views of the Bay, beautiful walks on the beach, and it's right near the fabulous The Hoot restaurant. Belfast is just a little bit further away. We loved this house and hope to visit again soon!

Our family leveraged this beautiful home to hub a wonderful gathering for Thanksgiving. We loved the character of this lovely old home with just the right amount of modern amenities. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking a big meal for 20. The game room provided a fabulous spot to relax and engage with family. The beds were so comfortable and cozy. The views and location are gorgeous. Suzanne and her husband were wonderfully accommodating and responsive hosts. We thank them for sharing their lovely home. We’d highly recommend this home.

Our group of 10 women thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Lost Tides. The house is beautifully situated in a private setting right on the water in Northport near Bayside. This central location is great for hiking, golfing, shopping and access to restaurants in both Belfast and Camden. The house is well appointed, clean and comfortable with lots of space to gather inside and out. We especially loved the hot tub and outdoor gathering spots. While October isn’t beach weather in Maine having access to the beach right from the house was great for walking and rock collecting and would be a real
plus in the summer months. Suzanne and Ethan were very responsive and easy to communicate with. I’d highly recommend Lost Tides!

Suzzanne and her husband were very nice at getting back to us with questions and concerns. We’ were able to check in early which also was very kind of them. The negatives were… A couple of bathrooms had quite a bit of mold in the showers. Not very inviting so we did clean those. The floor throw rugs appeared stained and dirty. Would be nice to have more towels so you don’t have to do laundry everyday. We had a group of 10 women and unfortunately the furniture set up could not seat us all in any one room. The house is big enough to fit more furniture in a room to hold the people it sleeps. Only one tv in the entire house was hard for 10 people also. No tv in the bedrooms. Would be nice for at least one more tv in that size house. Beautiful outside right on the bay.

Wonderful house. A small issue with central heating. Way too hot at times.

We had an amazing time. The view was priceless. Several had questions about photos in the home. Suzanne was great on giving us the back stories. This is a must stay!!!

Immediately responsive hosts, fantastic property layout with plenty of space for gathering: cooking, enjoying the meal, relaxing by the fire, playing darts, or sitting in the hot tub. The home is cozy and filled with interesting art and books. Location on the bay is great for kayaking and proximity to Belfast and Camden ideal. We'd love to return!

We LOVED Lost Tides! Plenty of room to spread out & enjoy private time as well as family time! perfect for bird watching, kayaking & paddle boarding, beach combing and nature watching! We loved every single thing, from the views, to the beach, to the lawns and the apple trees! So much to do… and we were so comfortable- the only sad part was saying “good-bye” to Lost Tides, but we will definitely be back!

Lovely spot nestled in the oaks overlooking Penobscot Bay. The home features all the amenities and we partook in area activities, kayaking, swimming, drive to Acadia.

Our week long stay at Lost Tides was truly memorable. The house, while exactly as pictured, was even more amazing in person! It was large, inviting, and filled with interesting art and “character”. The water views were beautiful, especially waking up to look out the bedroom window to witness the sunrise over the water, then snuggle back in bed. There were games and lots of spaces for all of our family members to stay entertained or do their own thing. The beach below was rocky - welcome to Maine!- but we loved searching for sea glass. We had paddle boards delivered one day to take advantage of our waterfront location.
We’d never been to Bayside, and that area had great food options and friendly people. Suzanne was friendly and great at communicating as well.
This was truly a special house that made our family time extra special! Thank you!

I’d highly recommend this property for anyone who is planning a trip and in our case a family vacation, that required lots of back and forth until we found Suzanne and Ethan’s listing. Just can’t say enough good things about the property and how truly wonderful Suzanne was with communication and all the little extras that came with the booking. Anyone who is looking to stay somewhere that requires a 4+ bedroom house with all the “fixin’s” would be wise to book Lost Tides!

Suzanne's house was absolutely beautiful and had so much to do. We visited Acadia National Park, kayaked on the bay, and built a beautiful fire at night. We all had wished we could stay for another night to enjoy the beautiful space. Suzanne was a great host and very communicative.

Our family has loved visiting Maine for many years and this vacation was no exception. Fantastic way to start the New Year!
The things we loved about this HOME-
Incredible expansive views, roomy but comfortable, historic, private, quiet, peaceful, relaxing, charming antiques, well-stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, lovely family room with fireplace, dining table big enough for the whole family to share meals, fun yard, and beach to explore.
The things we loved about this AREA-
Visiting the towns of Belfast & Camden,
the Belfast Co-op for groceries, the United Farmers Market of Maine in Belfast, walking in the adorable Bayside Historic District in Northport, and Young’s Lobster Pound in Belfast
The HIKING we loved- Moose Point State Park, McLellan-Poor Reserve, Belfast Rail Trail, and Acadia National Park
SUZANNE was extremely accommodating & easy to communicate with. The informational welcome letter was very helpful & appreciated. Also, we are always grateful to find a home this nice that allows pets.
This is a true “home away from home”!
Thank You!

We had a family reunion here. House is extraordinarily well equipped. Owner was very responsive to any request or question.
Photos are accurate. Loved our visit.

Lost Tides is a beautiful ocean front property with room sufficient to easily accommodate the ten of us very comfortably. The Bayside community is very attractive with numerous cute Victorian cottages. Suzanne provided lots of helpful information about the area, including shopping, dining and interesting places to visit. We watched movies on Netflix in the media room, played ping pong, completed several puzzles and cooked meals in and ate out. Franny’s in Camden has fabulous food. All in all, Lost Tides was a great place to have our cousins’ reunion.

Thanks to Suzanne and Ethan for sharing their amazing home! The property is breathtaking! We loved every minute of our stay - highly recommend it.

First off, Suzanne could not have been a more reliable and welcoming host. Any question we ever had she answered promptly and was very helpful with anything else we ever needed.
As for “Lost Tides” itself, this is the quintessential dream summer vacation home for a large group. The sunrise/sunset views overlooking the Penobscot bay were special. The house is a classic and in great shape with plenty of large social living areas, new large open kitchen, and plenty of rooms for sleeping/privacy. There’s ample parking if you have multiple cars ping pong, foosball, darts, a horse shoe pit- you name it- for activities. One recommendation if you get to stay here-get Kayaks for the week! My only regret from our stay is that we had to leave!

Top notch experience in this spacious home ideal for large families requiring various “zones” to accommodate early risers; night owls; tv watchers ; water front folks and more. 6x 50+ adults, and 5 x 17-21 teen/young adults= MANY different needs all meshed perfectly in “LostTides”. We rented kayaks & paddle boards (be prepared to carry down steep stairs to beach), went to Acadia one day; teens/young adults enjoyed rambling around Camden; built a bonfire in fire pit; used the spa almost daily. The queen Murphy bed really is fantastic quality, on par with all of the excellent beds. Kitchen is quite well equipped - we cooked big meals and also grilled. Brand new ping pong table got lots of use. Homeowner was highly responsive, quick to answer questions. There’s an excellent restaurant (with limited hours) minutes away. A delight, “The Hoot”; two excellent ice cream spots five miles away in Belfast; inventive (but greasy and spendy) donut shop also minutes away. Lobster Pound also short drive. Overall a terrific stay we’d be lucky to repeat.

This house is a fantastic staging point for a large family gathering and mid-coast Maine trip. The hosts were very warm and responsive. And, they seemed committed to us having a great time - even reaching out during some rainy days with some ideas for things to do. We had 8 adults and 5 kids in just the main house and everyone was comfortable.

I was looking for a place where our family of three households could spend quality time together for the first time in over a year and one that was loaded with character and charm. Lost Tides was the perfect find! I believe my first contact with Suzanne upon check in was WOW!!! The previous rave reviews have summed it up nicely. I would add the lovely master bedroom suite has a cozy energetic feel, the kitchen table with the amazing view lends itself to all six adults and one toddler hanging out for our daytime meals and the grounds are awesome for yard games, bonfires and beach combing. Suzanne is a gracious host and genuinely cares that you have an enjoyable stay. Four nights were not enough in this beautiful home! We all wanted to stay longer to experience more of this unique home and surrounding area and voted to return to this treasure next year!
Thank you for trusting us with your fabulous home, Suzanne!

The home has everything that is needed for a family get away. It has beautiful views and waking up to the sound of waves is amazing.

This was an amazing experience. This house was so great to accommodate a lot of different family members that came in. The outside area is huge and great for the kids to run around. We loved going there in fall because of all the leaves changing yet you can still take advantage of all the attractions bayside has to offer. Do not miss the chance to take advantage of this superb house and how it is so functional to handle multiple people without ever feeling crowded.

It's hard to find a place that will accommodate my family (6 kids, 2 parents, plus a few extra cousins), and it's impossible to find an amazing place, right on the water, with killer sunsets, fully ruined kitchen, and well maintained, but this house did it and more! Plenty of bedrooms and a great space for the whole family to get together for game night, movie night, etc. Good restaurants & New England shopping nearby. This is the perfect Maine beach house!
