The place was not at all as described in the photos. It stated in cabin wi-fi. I took a screen shot of it. The pictures are not up to date either. Place is very outdated. When they sent the check in process I wanted to confirm the wi-fi and asked in an e-mail. I told the manager I had to check in with work and needed wi-fi access. She informed me that the cabin did NOT have wi-fi but they had a nice communal porch I could walk to? When she showed us the cabin we were informed there was also no phone access and if we walked into the woods we might be able to text? I had to drive away from the property to text the second party of my group. The cabin was dark even with the lights on. I feel the description of this property is very misleading . For the price paid it was not worth the inconveniences. After messaging her and telling her we would not be returning since I could not maintain contact with work at the cabin and the walk to the little porch was a good 5 minute hike carrying my laptop thru the woods, she said she could have offered me different accommodations if she knew my dilemma?? I feel like I made my made my dilemma clear. Lesson learned. I took over a $1600.00 loss and went elsewhere.

We simply loved the property and the Cochran. Quiet peaceful unplugged return to nature. Excellent boating , lake views sunsets , walking and dock diving for the dogs!!! Very kind, helpful, friendly owners and extremely pet friendly. A special gem!!

Only issue no cell coverage. In todays day in age we need our phones

The owner is nice but the property is run down. The beds are lumpy with broken down mattresses. When you sit on the toilet your knees hit the wall. The old linoleum floors are dirty and come up on the edges. The deck is slippery from being in a dark wet environment (no sun). They need power washing. The deck by the lake is slippery too. The property overall needs upgrading. The decks are a safety hazard.

My family usually canoe camps in the ADKs in the summer. Do to some health concerns, we needed to have access to electricity and a roof this year, and we're looking for a low-key family style cabin on or near the water. This place was just the spot. The place is secluded and though there are other cabins on the property we had privacy and our own space. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the cabin is so cozy that we were happy even when it rained for hours on end. A sweet spot.

This property is rustic and very charming. It was so refreshing to have such pleasant downtime and close enough to restaurants shopping, hiking and discovering this beautiful part of the country. We will definitely go back.

Great location on water and close to town. Place was way over priced for what is was. Rustic is fine; this was just old. Old musty furniture, kitchen cabinets smelled moldy, plates & glasses grimy. Bed hard like a rock . Electric was overloaded and scary. Seems like nothing has changed since 1972.

Our stay was wonderful. It was easy to check in and Marj was great she walked us through everything. Cabin was clean, rustic and homey feeling. Neighbors were great and access to the lake was accurate to the listing. Overall great stay and would stay here again!

Great location, loved how we were in the woods but not to far from town or tourists spots. Only downfall was no campfires but overall a great stay!

Cabin was cozy and perfect for the 3 of us. We loved the screened in porch and used it quite often. Great location for fishing. Very friendly and laid back hosts. No internet, TV or cell phone service was just what we needed! 😊 Was not expecting to clean the whole cabin when we left, but did not take long as the cabin is not large. And the cabin was not the cleanest when we got there. A small leak with the refrigerator...minor inconvenience that hopefully gets repaired quickly.

My wife and I stayed at camp lawerance for 5 days. Upon arrival Marjorie was very welcoming and quick to get us into our cabin. Despite the bad weather we had a great time . The cabin is very rustic and cozy and was a perfect size for the two of us. Spent all week fishing and taking and Enjoying the nature around us. If you love to fish this house is a perfect location. You can either go left or right to two different lakes . I caught a huge northern pike and a huge largemouth bass. And a few other smaller fish . The boat ramp at the main cabin is a great amenity you were able to get a boat in and out quickly. We will be going back and definitely recommend these cabins .

Margie was welcoming and location is beautiful and very peaceful. Boats going by are not noisy. My daughter needed internet in order to do some work and had expected to be able too get it in the cabin. But she could not connect there. They have a wi-fi porch, but she had too much to do and there were too many mosquitoes for her to work on that porch. Also we were surprised at the fairly long walk from where we could park the car to the cabin -- it was a long way to carry food, luggage, bedding, etc. The other disappointment was the bathroom -- very, very small and the shower liner had been installed without cutting a place for the fixtures. So to turn the water on and off the reach was way over my head. My 9-year-old grandson could not have taken a shower alone. We went home earlier than we'd planned because of the unavailability of internet and because of the forecast for a rainy week. Swimming is not available at that location although our neighbor did take a short dip in the water just to cool off. A positive is that the cabin had both a screened porch and a good deck. Both have tables and chairs and a good view of the water. So the outdoors can be enjoyed in comfort. New stairs and dock had been built. "Vintage" cabins are being maintained well except for the bathroom fixtures which were not installed properly.

Owners are very nice. Cabin was easy to find, clean and tidy. Rustic. Nice area. Not far from restaurants & shops. Drawbacks: cabin has limited overhead lighting so it was hard to see at night to play board games, and to cook in the morning. The beds are very hard & extremely uncomfortable.

There is a reason that no photos of the bedroom and bathroom are on the site. My friend and I shared a bed that was wedged between two walls, with a third side at the back wall. At 6'3" he did not fit! And at 5'8" I had little left as well. The toilet was so near to the facing wall we could not use it properly. There was ample privacy and quiet, and it is pleasantly rustic. But I've learned my lesson. Yes, we spent our last morning doing the cleaning and mopping. I'd have paid for a cleaning service if offered. Love the Adirondacks, but will go elsewhere to stay.

If you love the peace and quiet of the woods and the tranquility of a lake and prefer the rustic nature of a sweet little cabin then this is the get away for you!

This property is so private and the hosts so helpful! It doesn't just have the Adirondack old school feel........ it is the real deal! The cabin was stellar and they have thought of everything you might need to enjoy it. We are paddlers and this was the perfect starting point for anywhere we wanted to go. So much fun going through the locks and the lakes and rivers are perfectly marked so you know exactly where to go. We have been going to the high peaks for 30 years and this cabin was a real find for us. So book it, go, and enjoy our beautiful lakes & mountains in New York State!!
