Traditional Taos home built by Pueblo builders for renowned Taos artist Charles Reynolds and his wife Ruth. Home is furnished with original antiques and paintings from the era. It is located on a quiet tree lined street, walking distance from Kit Carson Park, historic Taos Plaza, and many galleries and restaurants. The large, shady front porch is perfect for an outdoor meal, and the Pueblo of Taos, oldest inhabited village in North America, is less than two miles away. The world class ski resort of Taos Ski Valley is a twenty minute drive north, and the spectacular Rio Grande Gorge, with whitewater rafting, fly-fishing and hot springs, is even closer. Come immerse yourself in the real Taos, with it's amazing natural beauty and it's unique cultural influence, unlike anywhere in the USA. The larger side has two bedrooms and a day bed in the living room, and one twin in its own cubby, and one full bath. Sleeps five guests maximum. Prices listed are for the larger side of the duplex. If more space is needed please let me know. Likewise, if your group is small you may want the smaller apartment. Please take a look at VRBO #969436 to see the other side of this duplex. It has one bedroom with a queen size bed, and two twin beds. It sleeps four comfortably. For larger parties of up to nine the entire home can be rented.
Please take note, this house has a unique architecture which includes steps and low doorways in a couple of areas. There is signage to warn of this, but tall people must use caution.

Staying at this authentic, historic property was such a treat, like staying in a mini museum. We were really immersed in the Southwest vibe. The kitchen was adequately supplied and a washer and drier on site was very convenient. Great location for walking to restaurants, shops and a museum, yet on a quiet side street. If we visited Taos again, we'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful property with all the comforts of home. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. We loved that it was on a quiet street, yet it was within walking distance of the town square and many local popular restaurants. We didn’t have any pets with us but this would be a great place if you are traveling with a dog, because of the nice enclosed front and back yard. If you appreciate staying in an authentic 1950s adobe home, this property will not disappoint. We really hated to leave and will come back in the future when exploring Taos, Santa Fe and Ghost Ranch. 💙💙💙

The Southwestern feel and beautiful interior make you feel right at home. The art work and decor is perfect! The house and exterior fenced back yard are excellently maintained with beautiful flowers and vines. Loved that patio for breakfast and sitting outside at night. Location is great for walking into Taos downtown and art community.
We will be back!

This was a very clean, comfortable home near the main plaza of Taos. Three grown women stayed comfortably in the house. The kitchen was nicely equiped. Only having one bath was a bit if a challenge, but we made it work. Only suggestion would be to put power strips near the beds in the two bedrooms. The plugs have not been updated so finding one that works to have a phone nearby would be helpful. Also since there is only one bathroom it would help so hair dryers, etc. could be used in bedrooms when mutiple women are staying there and they need to get ready. Overall, lovely place.

We were so reluctant to leave this beautiful home after four days in Taos. Seldom have we felt as comfortable and at peace as we did in this meticulously furnished and curated artist home. We kept discovering and delighting in the many paintings, artifacts, and architectural details around the home.
The kitchen is well stocked, dining areas are inviting, the beds are very comfortable, the shower is a work of tile art and has impressive water pressure. We never did watch TV, but there is Netflix available.
We enjoyed a nightly glass of wine on the lovely porch, waiting for the lights to illuminate the garden. Everything is just so perfect here.
Laura is a very attentive host, making sure you have what you need. She even messaged us to point out a hummingbird nest outside the kitchen window.
We recommend this home without hesitation and would return in a heartbeat.

This is an old, well maintained traditional adobe home. Some doorways are short and some rooms have steps into them. The ambience is thick with the history of Taos. The yard had blooming lilacs and tulips. The kitchen was well equipped. It was a lovely place to stay for our 55th anniversary. The host was very helpful and stayed in close contact when we had questions. We loved it.

The quaint adobe filled with amazing art was a great place to stay while attending a watercolor workshop in Taos. It felt very cozy and it was great to feel connected to the artist Charles Reynolds, who built the home.

This property is as authentic Taos as you can get, from the architecture to the artwork. We only stayed for 3 nights, but could have easily stayed longer. It was an easy walk to restaurants and bars, an easy drive up to Taos Ski Valley, and when we were at the house, we found everything necessary to prepare meals and feel at home. Everything worked & this property is very well maintained. The fenced in front yard was perfect for the dogs to enjoy and we hope to return in the future. Laura was easy to communicate with & provided a quick response when needed.

We enjoyed our stay at the hacienda. We could comfortably walk to shops and restaurants. We were eager to see the architecture and art of the house and we were not disappointed. We loved the fireplace. Property manager responded super fast to potential issue and worked quickly to offer a solution. We will definitely return.

We loved staying here! The house has so much character and charm. Everything is as described in the listing--the only surprise was just how great it was. Our dog loved the front and back yards. If it had been less cold we would have enjoyed sitting out there too. There's a food co-op just at the end of the street and lots of other nice places on the way to the Plaza--which is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The owner was super-easy to communicate with and very responsive. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

This beautiful home is the perfect getaway during the holidays. We already knew that Taos is a beloved by many artists because of the gorgeous scenery and striking colors, but we didn’t expect to be living in an artist’s house while visiting. All the original art on the walls and the beautiful antique furniture made for a memorable stay for us. Warm, cozy, and comfortable, our home-away-from-home surpassed our expectations. A short walk from the Taos Art Museum and downtown plaza, and a mere 25 min drive from the ski slopes, this property is perfect for anyone visiting the area, no matter why. We’ll definitely be back!

House was clean and worked out great for our party of 3. Fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. Close to shops and restaurants, less than 5 min walk. Owner was easy to get in touch with and quick to respond, like when we locked ourselves out of the house. Would stay here again if we come back to Taos.

Enjoyed 5 days of shopping, wine tasting and spa treatments in Taos. House was centrally located in a quiet neighborhood. We cooked for 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts. Kitchen was sufficient but without a dishwasher, we found the need to wash silverware and glasses that clearly had not been cleaned adequately after the last guests. We would also recommend an upgrade to the mattresses in both bedrooms. We had a difficult time sleeping in either bed due to the “bow” in the bed. Otherwise, enjoyed the spaciousness of the home and its authenticity as a traditional adobe home.

It was a wonderful long weekend with family! Meeting Laura and learning about the history of the house made it that much more special! There is a lovely photo book in the house that everyone who stays there should see! Thank you very much Laura - yet another reason to return to Taos!

Home is quaint, unique and full of interesting art. It's an older home but that's what Taos is all about. The owner was absolutely excellent in filling special requests, answering questions, making recommendations and helping me with an oversight on my part. Great stay.

This duplex was spacious and had a very Taos feel. Lots of little touches to make it charming and comfortable. The front porch and yard were wonderful. Even though it is a duplex we never heard the people in the other unit.
We would stay here again.

Unique, charming and lots of character
This is a very unique property in walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is pet friendly and has a fenced in yard. The inside was much larger than I expected based on the photos. It was more than enough space for my family of four and a dog. The host was very responsive and friendly. I would recommend this home for your vacation.
