Charming cottage in quiet setting close to the lake in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. 2 bedrooms; both with a queen size bed. High quality linens provided. Full bathroom with tiled shower with glass doors. Hairdryer in bathroom. Comfortable living room with cozy gas stove for the winter months. Wireless internet. Newly refinished hardwood floors. New stainless steel appliances in fully-stocked kitchen. Backyard patio has gas barbecue and 4 outdoor chairs with tables. Beautifully landscaped property. Garage available for parking. One block to lake. Non smoking. Due to the damage to property and the cottage we no longer allow pets on this property; apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
There is an additional fee for a third or fourth guest of $25/night/person (adult or child).

The property is centrally located and close to all amenities. The hosts were great and came by to say hello. Very clean property waist down. There were lots of cobwebs and dirt higher up - like in the lights and ceiling fans. Some had been there for an extended period of time. We woke up twice to see spiders climbing down from the lights onto our sons' bed close to his face area. Other than that, the rooms were good. The washroom is a little small but very modern and perfect water pressure - not like a hotel where they limit the water pressure. We didn't use any of the appliances or plates and such but they had it all there if we wanted them. Parking was also very spacious. Didn't get to use the backyard but it was nice from what we saw. Of note, the A/Cs generate this weird smell. We let it run during the day when we were out but took it off at night because the smell was very pungent. Overall, would we stay there again - I checked with my wife and son and they said yes.

The cottage is well appointed—has all you need—and the location is great. It is on a quiet street, very near the water and several parks and a very short walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. The back yard is peaceful with the pleasure of birds of many kinds coming and going, singing and chattering. The location also accommodates driving to many vineyards, orchards, historic sites and Niagara Falls, avoiding the glitzy tourist areas. Recommendation: 👍👍👍👍👍

A beautiful cottage just steps from the Lake. We enjoyed the water and a short ten minute walk into Historic Niagara on the Lake. The Cottage was exactly as described, and very clean. The owner also did a great job communicating with us, and also stopped in to check on us and make sure everything was ok!

We walked almost everywhere we went for the week due to the great location. Ate breakfast on the back porch each morning, enjoying the flowers, birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. Everything was perfect except a smell in the back bedroom from the A/C.

This property was perfect for our 3 day visit. About 4 blocks from the center of NOTL (5 minute walk) but also on a quiet street very close to Lake Ontario and Queen's Royal Park. It was also walking distance to Fort George. We walked everywhere. It was very clean and cozy. It would be too small for any group larger than 4 people but was perfect for just the two of us. We mostly took advantage of the fantastic restaurants in town but it seemed to have whatever you would need in the kitchen. The owner is local and responsive. We would definitely stay in the Hawsepiper Cottage when we return to the area.

My partner and I have rented this charming cottage repeatedly in the past several years. Whenever we plan to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake, the first thing we do is check to see if Peter’s place is available! It is beautifully appointed, spotless, and with an artfully landscaped backyard. We also love that it’s within walking distance of the Golf Club and the town’s centre. Peter and Debra are lovely hosts and we could not recommend their cottage more highly!

A very clean and cozy cottage. The owners were great to work with... So kind with some great suggestions for places to eat etc. The house was very clean and within walking distance of the shops and theater in NOTL and a short beautiful walk to the lake. It was really, really hot and humid while we were here, but the two window AC units and ceiling fans kept the house very cool. A great place to stay!

Niagara-on-the-Lake town and region exceeded our expectations as an attractive and interesting area to visit. The cottage was a great place to stay and was easy walking distance to the town and the lake. A day visit to Niagara Falls was only a short drive away. We also used it as a base to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Martin house and Graycliff house and other sights in Buffalo. Overall the cottage is small, but it met our needs. The lounge was good to relax in and bed was comfortable. It's well-equipped with good internet and a TV with streaming options and a kitchen that was fine for food preparation. In the town, Hendrik's supermarket had a good range of provisions and Balzac's Coffee was very good. While a couple of glasses of local wine at Cork's Wine Bar were underwhelming, however we had a great tasting (and purchases) at Reif Estate Winery. We would recommend Hawsepiper Cottage as a ideal accommodation in Niagara-on-the-Lake and a base for wider exploration.

We were in town for our son's wedding. This location is our favourite quiet, little street in Niagara. The cottage was super clean and very comfortable. It was beautifully decorated and has a lovely patio and backyard. Everything you need was provided. We are very happy and would love to come again.

The location was spot on, we brought our bikes from Ohio, having the garage was wonderful, we were able to unload them to let them dry off. It’s a very safe neighborhood. The landscaping was beautiful! A little sitting spot in the backyard was great. We rode our bikes to breakfast, and fished at the lake in the morning. Will definitley be back 😊

We had a lovely time mere steps away from Niagara on The Lake downtown. Very walkable. Quiet and quaint accomodations with enough room easily for the four of us. Back yard was so pretty and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at the cottage....We could walk to just about everything....lunch, dinner....and only a short 30 minute ride to Niagara Falls! We loved this cute little town. Very qauint and quiet! Would definetly recommmend this place to anyone who wants to see Niagara Falls, but wants some peaceful quiet time!

We had a wonderful stay in this charming little cottage for our Eclipse Trip (April 8, 2024) The cottage is cozy with an updated bathroom. We appreciated having Netflix and everything to make coffee and tea. The location is perfect. Close to the lakefront, the Niagara River Trail, and to Queen Street with restaurants, shops, etc.

We stay in the Niagara area several times a year. This was by far one of our favourite spots to stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. It was a bit cold so we didn’t walk into town, however in the nicer weather it’s just a few minutes walk. The owners came by one day and shoveled and salted the walk and driveway. We will definitely be back.

We had a great weekend stay at this cute cottage. It is a short walk to the lake and also to the main street where there are fantastic restaurants and shops. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the hosts were very responsive. Highly recommend!

“Watch step” does not fully describe the vault an older person needs to achieve to get into the house! My husband fell with suitcases in hand causing three open wounds in his leg. I’m surprised it passed inspection for a rental property. Yes it was clean and comfortable.
