We had a great time. Just be prepared if a large group laundry will take way longer then expected for check out. We had a great time sitting outside with a fire and talking! Its a beautiful home and recommend it to others! Thank you so much!

We used Scott’s house for 8 adults to attend my son’s graduation. Scott was awesome with communication from the time I booked the property. All the Xmas decorations gave it a homey feeling. The house is beautifully located right across Greek Peak Resort and through the majestic windows the view of the mountains are beautiful. We even had the opportunity to witness a thunder storm and some white clouds hanging out on the mountain. The gardens are well maintained.
We hosted a graduation party with three other families and the plan had been to sit outdoors in the spacious spaces outdoors with the firepit. And we were able to quickly change plans with the rains to hosting indoors in their bar and hangout space. The graduates enjoyed being together.
We all cherished the time together in the home. Thank you to the Johnsons.

The house was perfect for my extended family attending my niece's graduation from Cortland. The house was very comfortable and had many amenities. The owner was very communicative and a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Scott’s home over Christmas and it was just what we were looking for! Scott was so nice to work with and very flexible. Plenty of space for our family and we all loved the ping pong and pool tables. The view of the slopes was wonderful! The home is decorated so nicely for Christmas as well. Only cons were the lack of workspace lighting in the kitchen, and the cleaning/laundry process could be better. (I have never stayed in a VRBO where you had to do the laundry and vacuum/mop at the end of the stay). However, it would definitely not keep me from renting this lovely home again! Scott is a wonderful host!

This home allowed the 9 of us to spread out, and the layout is great. Early risers in the kitchen could not be heard from the bedrooms so others slept in which is especially nice when you have teens! The view from the patio, the deck, the living room, and one of the bedrooms was great. The hot tub was very clean and situated perfectly, undercover, but on the patio so you could enjoy the bonfire and views at the same time. The cleaning crew hasn't done a thorough job in a while. Some of the appliances need a good scrub down. The level of crud on the toaster oven, and other appliances was pretty thick, so we needed to clean before cooking (we cooked every day). The dishes and utensils were all clean though. One of the bathrooms had been cleaned, but the other two obviously weren't cleaned. Overall, the pros outweighed the cleanliness issue. Being walking distance from Hope Lake Lodge is great! I would definitely want to know that it had been cleaned by a better cleaning service before arrival.

We had an amazing time at this property. From walking in, reading through the rules, the suggestions for places in town, and contacting the property manager was nothing but amazing. We had an issue with our stove and popping breakers, and the manger always responded quickly and replaced the stove that night. This house is beautiful, the decorations were great, the house was so clean, it was accommodating for everyone! The views were amazing, and the morning runs with those hills were hard! Cannot recommend this property enough!

Very nice rental with great views and everyondle had a good time. The kitchen needs a bit more over-head lighting, as the under-cabinet lights didn't quite get the job done in conjunction with the minimal over-head stained glass lights. Otherwise, top marks all around.

We stayed at the property for a family summer vacation. We had 7 kids ages 2-14 and they had so much fun.
There was plenty of space for the kids and the adults. The property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of beds, kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies etc. Scott was available and in contact in case we needed anything. Overall we had a great experience.
We stayed during the summer so I’m sure it’s quite different than the winter-but I would imagine it would be a great place to stay if you wanted to ski.

This house was a nice place for us to stay while visiting the area for a baseball tournament in Cortland. The boys loved the pool table and ping pong in the basement and we had plenty of room to spread out.

This house was great. We have people from ages 5 to 40's and everyone was comfortable and were able to have space for dofferent things. The views are amazing, the deck is wonferful for hanging put, the kitchen has the things you didnt bring.
There is Christmas decor everywhere, probably because of the ski slope across the street and lots of winter renters. The rooms are comfortable and the loft was great soace for many of the kids, all different ages to sleep.
This was one of the best places we've rented over the last ten years with this group of families. Thanks!

We had a family reunion here and several of us travelled from out of state. We all slept comfortably and it was great to have different areas of the house to hang out such as ping pong and pool downstairs. We enjoyed the hot tub and grill and we had plenty of nice places to hang out with multiple ages! We also enjoyed nearby attractions. Scott was really helpful, responsive, and flexible and we would definitely stay here again!

The stay was great, just know that the bunks are doubles top and bottom not singles so count accordingly. Communication was fast and very to the point that worked well for us. I would definitely rent this home again in the future.

We came with our family to attend a wedding at the lodge. The house was in the perfect location to visit the area wineries and breweries. Some of the kids went to Watkins Glen. All in all, a perfect house. The game room is awesome!

Stunning Views!
Our family came from Oregon, Washington, and New York to spend Christmas together. We had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful with a very large kitchen outfitted with everything you could possibly need. The living area on the main floor has a vaulted ceiling with huge windows that frame Greek Peak, day and night. Only our daughter and her partner skied but we could sit comfortably inside and watch the skiers make their way down the slopes. The bunkroom/loft above the living area is semi-private and would be a fun place for kids to hang out. They could feel separated enough yet still be a part of the action. The lower level has a somewhat pub-like feel with a pool table and ping pong table and a bar with stools. It also has a nice size TV, although we didn't use it. The downstairs bedroom was nice and cozy, although it doesn't have a window. It made for a nice dark room at night!
Scott was extremely responsive to all our questions about the house, prior to our arrival. Since we were already familiar with the area, we didn't need much guidance about what to do. However, if you are unfamiliar with the area, Scott would be a good resource. There is much to do nearby. We walked to Hope Lake, skied at Greek Peak, and spent a day shopping in Syracuse. We would definitely stay in this beautiful home again!

Wonderful place to stay with family
We selected this property as a place to hold a family Thanksgiving for a family that is spread from Ohio to Massachusetts to Virginia. We all met at this wonderful central location and enjoyed a holiday together. The home is very well equipped with plenty of kitchen pots, pans and other tools. Making a full Thanksgiving dinner didn't cause a problem. The game room and bar were especially fun. We played many games of pool and ping pong! The scenery is also beautiful, with great views of Greek Peak across the way.

High Maintenance Management. Get ready to work.
If you’re looking for a care free getaway this is not it. Shortly after booking the expensive stay, expect a 4 page contract sent to you from the owner email detailing the required cleaning you’ll have to do prior to check out. This includes mopping all the floors, doing all the laundry, and vacuuming the entire house. This is on top of a built in cleaning fee. It also comes with the realization that the residence was not professionally cleaned between stays. The contract can’t be emailed back, you’ll have to send it by mail for god knows what reason. It’s a great house in a good location but the owners aren’t serious about running this as a legitimate rental. Don’t expect to relax. Roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Perfect 3 Day stay for large family
We celebrated my parents 75th wedding anniversary by staying 3 nights with lots of family members. It was the perfect setting to hang out and enjoy everyone's company. The great Fall weather was a bonus that allowed us to sit on the large deck and have campfires to at night. I would totally recommend staying here.

Fun, cozy stay with beautiful sunset view!
We recently had a most pleasant autumnal stay here with our kids and dogs. It was a fantastic location for us; plenty to do for families between the indoor water park (2 min drive) and the adventure course at Greek Peak, not to mention all of the great hiking and exploration in nearby Ithaca. Our sons loved all the fun amenities of the house, especially the jukebox and the spacious loft space they had all to themselves! Scott is an excellent host; he was easy to contact on the day of check-in, and he communicated all to us clearly and in a timely manner throughout the entire process,

Great weekend stay
The house and location was a perfect fit for our weekend in the Syracuse area. We were not too far from anything and the amenities in the house did not give us a reason to leave. The bar and game room area are next level. Scott was a pleasure to work with as well.

It was a fun weekend. The hot tub didn’t work for us which was one of the main attractions for us with the house but everything else was very nice.

Great house!
We stayed in the area to do a bachelorette party and wine tour with a group of friends. The house was great, plenty big enough for our group, and lots to do in the house itself. Just be aware that their are Christmas decorations up in July!
