Disappointing

My stay was a bit of a disaster to be honest. Half an hour before check in, when I was almost at the accomondation I got a call from the host who told me that they didn't have the room ready because the staff was sick. The room was equipted with everything you need but the walls are verry thin so you could hear everything from the other rooms. There was one guy on my floor fighting with someone over the phone all night and I could understand every word. The bathroom and kitchen weren't really clean and in the end I was happy to leave.

all in all actually good for the price

free washing mashine and dryer! Kettle in the room (with cookies, tea and coffee), clean room, big supermarket around the corner, easy check-in with key box, cheap

dirty kitchen (especially the cabinets), other residents were very loud (you hear every step) short story about the owner: We knew that the washing machine is free, so we wanted to do our laundry in the evening. There were wet towels and a sheet in the washing machine. Thinking this was freshly washed we put the things on the table and put our laundry in the washing machine. The owner saw this a little later and completely freaked out. She yelled at us loudly and slammed all the doors with a bang. We were afraid she would hurt us!! Some residents came to us after the situation and asked what happened. When she was gone, she wrote us a rude message, to which we replied very nicely and the situation calmed down. Her laundry wasn't freshly washed so she was bothered that we put her towels on the table, we should have put them on the floor. If we had smelled the towels we would have known they weren't freshly laundered. So apparently our fault too? This behavior was absolutely not right by the owner, this could have been clarified in peace. She's the only Irish woman in three weeks who hasn't been nice to us. The accommodation is a budget hostel, you can't expect much. If the situation with the owner hadn't gone like this, we would definitely have given a better rating because the accommodation is actually good for the price!

The stair carpet appeared very worn, and the room carpet had not been vacuum cleaned before arrival, and seemed not to be done during the stay. This was the only aspect of poor cleanliness, the rest was OK.

Excellent value for money.

Excellent value for money. Brilliant communication. Although listed as a hostel, I had a double bed in a good sized bedroom. Shared bathroom with TV and internet. Decent shower. Kitchen facilities available. Obviously the area isn't the quietest as it's in the center of town but I felt very safe. You let yourself in and out so it felt private.

Very nice, easy check-in. Impatient staff.

The view was beautiful from the window, had nice self check-in. All in all fairly nice.

You have to hold down a switch for the shower, I get saving money but this seemed odd. As ridiculous as it sounds if you have arthritis, joint pain or one arm, it would be very difficult to shower. I called to ask just about parking and the owner or front desk manager starting yelling asking my name. I tried telling him I just was asking about parking but he kept yelling for my name. We got disconnected, he called me and was very cross. I tried to tell him what happened but he cut the conversation short and hung up before I had a chance to tell him my What’sapp was tied to my American number. He wanted my What’sapp for the confirmation, but I didn’t ask for it because I already had one via my email. He emailed saying “you don’t have What’sapp,” I did of course. If he had been patient and waited on the phone I could have told him it was tied to my American number not the Irish one I had for my Sim card for the month. Covid times are stressful, I figured it may be because of that and decided to leave that. I realize it must be hard managing a hostel during these times. All in all beautiful, would stay again, but I’d ask him to be patient and kind next time.

Perfect spot for a overnight stop in central Donegal

Property's location is perfect for walking in to central Letterkenny. There was plenty of space within the room and property as a whole, but it still offered good privacy. Well equipped kitchen with working utilities (including a washing machine).

No issues here.

Disgusting, waste of money!

Dirty, down steps to access via front, in heavy rain, leaves on steps, not disabled friendly. No hot water, no heating in room, 6C cold, bins full of rubbish. Owner sipping whiskey from a half bottle, very unpleasant! I only stayed one night, disgusting worst I've ever stayed at!

Clean bed and room Clean utensils

A man came in to my room at 5 in the morning. I didn’t feel I had to lock the room at night while sleeping. He came in looking for someone as if I would know. He then proceeded to come back in and sit on the other bed being weird asking personal questions. I felt very uncomfortable and thought he might sexually assault/rape me. I didn’t feel safe there from then so I quickly left the next day leaving the key behind. I didn’t bother asking for a refund as I just wanted to forget that experience. Won’t stay here ever again.
