This was our second time staying here and we absolutely enjoyed it. The peace and quiet was amazing for all of us to get our much needed writing done!
8.0 / 10.0
We stayed with 6 adults and 2 kids for a family vacation. The house was very comfortable for our group, and we appreciated the upstairs living area and deck for views and board games. We saw a few brown heads pop up in the canal - sea lions I think? Great star-gazing during the new moon and meteor shower, and bald eagles flew overhead a few times.
We had great clamming and oyster harvesting nearby at Belfair Park! The drive to any "tourist" area is 2+ hours in any direction, so keep that in mind if you're looking to explore the Peninsula.
It was unusually hot during our visit (90+ degrees). Consider the temps when deciding who gets which bedroom - the master bedroom was very warm with no fan to move the cooler night air, while the queen room on the other end of the house was significantly cooler.
Great communication from our Hosts, and we appreciated the stack of brochures and maps available in the house. The kids loved the game room, and I really appreciated the little things in the kitchen: plastic wrap and aluminum foil were great to have on-hand! We also picked tons of delicious blackberries on the property and down by the beach.

What a beautiful place to spend some quality time with the family. It was exactly what we were hoping for. Great house at a remote location.

Had a great stay here over the weekend. Was a good common point between Seattle and Olympic National Park. Driveway recommend awd or 4x4 but wasnt terrible in the summer. Most all windows were opened when we checked in so just keep that in mind (very cold) so it let in a good amount of flies. Otherwise perfect location and would recommend!

This is the third year in a row my friends and I have stayed at the property. Although there is no wifi or tv, we always bring a hotspot and have no issues. The view is incredible and the home is well stocked. Communication with owners is very responsive. I highly recommend.

This is our second time staying at this house and enjoyed it just as much. Location is beautiful and peaceful, kitchen is great with nice gathering space for our friend group. Lack of wifi and tv would be the only drawback I see as we love to stream music but we managed. House was very clean and loved the bbq grill. We rent a lot of vacation homes and this is one of our favorites. I highly recommend. Bring a hotspot if you don’t have wifi. Otherwise .. this is a fabulous home! We will definitely be back!!!! Kris is very responsive and communicative, something we really appreciate! Owners were quite flexible on our arrival time as well. I love that bedrooms are away from living area for those who want some quiet time.

Great location
Owners have a wonderful house with plenty of space. Celebrated my 60th birthday with another couple from college. Took advantage of owner’s recommendation to rent kayaks from Summertide Resorts that was 2 miles from house. They said we could kayak across to Union that had many restaurants. Great Mexican joint with generous margaritas. Summertide also sold beer & had a nice selection of wines in their General Store. Downsides were no internet service & bed in master squeaked when you turned. Very good instructions from owner. Would rent here again.

Good for extended family vacation
Owners were very good at communicating. We harvested oysters and cooked them within hours for our dinner. The beach is not a sandy beach, very rocky and full of oyster shells, not good for swimming. However it was one of the highlights of our stay when we saw the Orca’s come down the canal, several times. The seals were there too, starfish and clams that like to squirt you. Sunsets over the mountains were amazing. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Great location!
We loved the view and being able to walk down to the beach. It was very peaceful and quiet. Super roomy house - we enjoyed all the kids books; the front porch swing was a great place to read them!

Good location but not the cleanest
Pro: Location and wood fireplace really made this house! We were able to walk to the beach to pick oysters which the kids loved, and we stayed by the wood fireplace playing card games to unwind.
Cons: There’s only the tv in the small game room so we didn’t use it (we didn’t mind), and the bed mattresses were not the coziest. Both bathrooms didn’t look like the showers had been cleaned at all so there’s was a lot of hair from the previous renters I’m guessing which put a bad taste in our mouths. For the price though it was a good rental with the pros.

Fabulous!
We celebrated my 59th birthday in this house. We had a group of 10 for the weekend. We knew there would not be tv or WiFi so we planned for this. We were able to watch movies and cell service was great do no complaints there. This is a beautiful home and was very comfortable. We talked of returning when weather is warmer to get more use of outdoor space. The privacy was amazing and the house has such an open concept we were able to socialize even from the kitchen. Oysters were amazing and easy to gather quickly! The views from every room in the house were so outstanding and just gave a sense of peace. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pot pans and serving dishes which we very much appreciated !
We highly recommend this property. We didn’t notice missing WiFi or tv since that’s really something we utilize on our getaways.
Thanks for a great stay! We will definitely be back! This home has a cabin feel similar to the ones I grew up in while living in Montana and Minnesota so made me really feel at home.

The View! The View! The View!
Have I mentioned the view?! From the living room? From the master bedroom? From the balcony? From the upstairs shared area? From the yard? From the beach?
Great kitchen/dining/living area--open spaces!
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering about cell signal? T-Mobile had 4 bars of 4G service and so did my ATT work phone. Used my T-Mobile phone as a hotspot and even got smooth video (720p).
Great house and my interactions with the owners were smooth and easy. Please stay here!

Great New Year's Holiday
The cabin is amazing. A lot of space to gather yet stay 6 feet away. Everything was clean and sanitizer provided in each bathroom. The kitchen has all the things for cooking great meals. The BBQ grill is a quality one. We had a great stay!
I would suggest adding a hot tub, it would be perfect for rainy days.

Beautiful weekend getaway
The house was perfect for our group throwing a surprise birthday get together. Lots of space and the kitchen came equipped with everything we needed. The views are spectacular. The walk down to the beach is great, oystering was awesome (all of us previously had shell fishing licenses so make sure you have one!). Make sure you come with groceries, the small store didn’t have apple juice. A deer sat under the apple tree in the front yard all day. I would definitely stay here again!

The drive up was a challenge
Next time I book having WiFi will B a huge priority & It really needs 2B clear that the hill is not just steep but gravel with lots of deep spots - I hardly made it up in my Prius & my son in law in his Lexus - my daughter in her 4 wheel drive pulling a trailer with kayaks was not a problem but the turn around was a challenge

Enjoyable stay
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin/house near Tahuya. The house/property had everything we needed for a week's stay (no internet, but we were happy to be away from it for a while). The views are amazing and there's plenty of room for games, reading, relaxing. The beach is right down the hill and we went wandering and kayaking from there. Hosts were helpful and prompt in their replies to questions. We had a lovely week!

Peaceful and relaxing
Overall the property is beautiful and the location is great. We had signal by the windows in our cell phones, but we truly enjoyed the time off the phone and laughing with each other. We stayed occupied playing games, cooking and out door activities. The only negative thing I can say is the kitchen cookware needs to be updated, I brought my electric skillet and air fryer so i used that. We would Definitely stay again.

Great for a large group
The house is perfect for a large group. Lots of sleeping and gathering areas. The kitchen is perfect for preparing meals for everyone. Great views from all through the house. No TV or internet so bring your own fun!

Peaceful weekend in spectacular setting
House was spacious, clean and welcoming. There was nothing we lacked! Bring everything you need grocery-wise and enjoy the quiet pace of the beautiful setting. Deer greeted us upon arrival and were frequent guests in the yard. The weather cooperated and we took a long walk along North Shore Road, drinking in the beauty of the stunning Olympic mountains. (No worries if it’s inclement - it’s cozy by the woodstove!) Description of the house and directions there were accurate and check in/check out were very easy. The hosts were very responsive communicators. We hated to leave and would definitely stay again! Thank you for sharing your fabulous home!

Amazing Vacation at Quail Ridge!
Quail Ridge is an amazing place to vacation with your family! We stayed here last summer and loved everything about the home and location. The house was clean and cozy and the beds were extremely comfortable. The large grassy yard with a view was the perfect place for our kids to play while we relaxed. We took walks to the beach just down the road and were just a short drive to the state park. The owners, Dave and Kris, were very responsive when we had a question and made us feel so taken care of!
Thank you for such a lovely time at your home! We will definitely be back!

Great getaway
Great getaway weekend. We really liked the house and the location! The owners were really helpful for the check in and check out. There is no water taxi that crosses the hood canal... that would be a nice addition to the area! Great place.

Hood Canal Getaway Weekends
We had such a great time at the house! It’s such a beautiful house, very quiet, gorgeous views, and we loved that we were very close to get some oysters on the other side of the canal. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. We forgot about our phones and just enjoyed nature and each other’s company :) Highly recommend!

Spacious, quiet house
Big house with lots of space - big well-stocked kitchen, living room AND separate space upstairs, four bedrooms plus an office with a door & inflatable bed. We enjoyed hanging out in the yard with the great view, walking along the quiet road to a pretty waterfront park, and the stars at night. It's half an hour to the nearest restaurant so come prepared to do all your own cooking - which we prefer anyway. There's a place nearby where you can rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. The driveway is very steep & rough, we had to be quite careful walking down it.

Wonderful New Years Stay
We had a wonderful stay with friends and family in Tahuya to welcome in the 2019 New Year. We spent a lot of time in the cabin as well as outdoors. We took lots of walks to enjoy the peaceful and quite Hood Canal. We saw deer, bald eagles to name some of the wildlife. We loved our time and have a desire to come back again.
