We were greeted by friendly and helpful Angela! She booked us an Uber from the ferry. Plus helped us with bus routes. Absolutely fantastic communication through WhatsApp. The apartment has an amazing view and everything we needed!!! Two minor flaws were the lack of mirror in primary room as well as kitchen lights. Pro and con about the place is the many steps up and down to old town. We would recommend this place if you need a place away from hustle and bustle of old town but close enough to it. Thank you for having a comfortable place.

We stayed at the apartment for a week. It was in a beautiful location, within walking distance of the old town and new town. Wonderful view from the large balcony. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. The check in and check out process was smooth. All in all, the best apartment we've stayed in. It was a wonderful base to explore Dubrovnik and the nearby islands and towns. Would definitively recommend, and would stay here again!!

This is a great apartment for a stay in Dubrovnik. Plenty of room for a family of four and very clean and tidy. Everything you could need in the kitchen and plenty of hot water for the bathroom which had a lovely, powerful shower. It's a nice walk down to the Old Town. Lots of steps, some very steep so be prepared. Like other reviewers, we never walked back up to the apartment due to Ubers being in abundance and very cheap. (5 euro). The view from the balcony is breath-taking and the large outdoor terrace is an absolute must in the hot weather. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment.

We travel quite a bit and this is the best place we stayed in by far - well appointed / decorated, has all the essentials you need, the property manager and her staff are incredibly responsive and helpful and the view of Dubrovnik is breath-taking. Great stay. Kept us fit walking down to the old town but Ubers were only 6 euro back. Accommodation was clean and had everything required.

This place was just as advertised. Checkin was a breeze and communication with the owner was easy. The view from the terrace was exceptional but came with many steps to go up and down to Old Town area. We opted for Uber and it was always quick and easy. I would definitely book this apartment for another stay.

The high point: it’s high up. I counted 420 stairs + walking up from old town. This makes the balcony view excellent. Great sunsets can be enjoyed here. Some comfy chairs and side tables on a clean balcony would make the view exceptional. Theres plenty of hot water, but the shower is tiny and the doors need work. Appreciated the water in the refrigerator , but milk as a welcome gift? I’ve stayed in several apartments…wine generally seems de rigeur. A notebook with suggestions, for instance, about what to see, where to eat, the best way to walk to the old city, a guide to the TV channels, maybe even info on local transportation would have been helpful. Dubrovnik is a charming little city. With a little more attention to detail this would be a perfect place to stay.

We had a lovely 3-day stay in this comfortable 2-br apartment. George, a property manager, met us on arrival, and generously shared info about the area. The wrap-around porch with stunning views over the coast was the best part. And we loved the 10-minute walk down the beautiful stairs into the old city. Coming back via stairs was fine, too. The apartment had everything we needed, and was a good location to explore from.

We enjoyed our stay at this rental with stunning views overlooking Dubrovnik & the sea! An extra camp-cot bed was provided for us which was appreciated. It was nice to have a bakery, small grocery store, & places to swim within walking distance. We also hiked up & down Mt Srd from the rental. We loved exploring Dubrovnik & hope to be back someday!

We just returned back from our trip to Croatia and stayed at this apartment for 3 weeks. As noted by other reviewers, the view from the big balcony is amazing. It definitely requires some work out to get up to the hill, but completely worth it. Worth noting, that the place is close to old town of Dubrovnik, about 15 mins walk down many steps and crossing the road vie undergrownd crosswalk. We used Uber to get back most of the times. The apartment can fit really well a family of 4 (2 kids and 2 adults) for a long stay and maybe a bigger company for a couple of nights. The apartment has everything you need. Parking is also available and we had no issues parking a normal size car at the designated parking spot. We would recommend this place to anyone. Looking forward to returning back to Croatia already :)

Property was exactly as described and as it appears in the photographs and was spacious and well equipped, perfect for our family of 4. It was roughly a 15-20min casual walk into the old walled town of Dubrovnik, although this involves a significant number of stairs down on the route, but thankfully this is easy on the way down and a taxi back up was pretty cheap so we usually took that option. There was also an off-street reserved parking space at the property for our hire car which felt very safe. What the property listing doesn't do justice to was the warm and friendly welcome we received on arrival from our host who gave us some great tips on places to visit, eat and drink and where local amenities were, as well as providing us with a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge and some fresh fruit, all of which was a really nice touch and very much appreciated. Communication was great throughout and both check-in and check-out were really easy and well organised. I'd have no reservations in recommending this property to anyone looking to stay in Dubrovnik. Many thanks to Gordana and her husband for such a wonderful stay in their property.

We had such a lovely stay! And that view to wake up to each day is just breathtaking!! Gordana was very prompt at responding to any enquiry! With a 5 month old baby the 500 steps to the Old Town were a challenge at times but with a baby sling and pram in hand it is more than do-able! We will definitely consider staying here again!

Just returned after 10 day stay in Merbau. Lovely property in a small complex with fabulous sea views. Great location to visit Dubrovnik and its surrounding area. There are quite a lot of steps to negotiate to old town but we enjoyed the walk. We would recommend without hesitation.

We travelled to Dubrovnik for 3 nights and chose this apartment as our base. We were a relatively large group (my husband, myself, our 2 children, - 2 and 1 years old - and my two parents). It was a comfortable stay, although I would say that I would not dare to go there with a larger group - but it served our purposes very well. They have a camp bed (trundle bed) and a baby cot. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment, and although we didn't really cook, it would have been no problem to do so. There is a good sized balcony, with wonderful views out to what I believe is the Lapad area and the Adriatic sea. But to get high views, you have to go high up, and it is approximately 500 steps (depending on which way you go) down to the old town. Despite this we very much enjoyed the walk down to the town everyday. Even our kids managed it without (much) complaint - a miracle! We were not so bold, however, to do the walk back up in the evenings, after long days exploring. A taxi back is not terribly expensive, about 10 Euro give or take, and well worth the investment. Our host Gordana was amazing. Although we never personally met her, she was always quick to reply to my emails and answer all my questions. Her staff, from the drivers she organized to pick us up and return us to the airport, to the gentlemen who met us at the apartment to explain everything to us, were all friendly and informative. Thanks again, would definitely recommend this place for a short stay in Dubrovnik. :)

We had a lovely stay in this very nicely finished apartment, with all of the warmth and hominess you need to relax and sleep well, but with a very large patio to enjoy STUNNING views of Dubrovnik and the ocean all day long!!! We would DEFINITELY stay here again and enjoyed every minute we spent there!

The apartment was lovely and immaculate. We very much appreciated the care given by the manager on site and the contact beforehand. The sunsets were magnificent off the terrace and made it difficult to be anywhere else during that time! We appreciated the quiet distance from the bustling old town. Lots of steps but found it easy to take the bus back up on days we didn't want to walk. The only negative is crossing a very busy street from the bus stop although a cab would be able to deliver you to the apartment door. I highly recommend it as a place to stay in Dubrovnik. We would definitely rent it again.

Our whole family loved this apartment. It was very homely and we loved the personal touches - tea bags, washing tablets, water and milk etc. Everything in the apartment was of excellent quality and it was cool even thought the temperature outside was 40 degrees. The view is amazing but that is because the apartment is high up. There are lots of steps so you need to be fit to stay here or use taxis. I would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay here again if we return to Dubrovnik.

As a family of four, (two teenagers) we have stayed in many "online" booking apartments. I would give this a two thumbs up for location and because the online pictures were accurate. We stayed just for two nights and I'm not sure if it would have been big enough for a week's stay for four people. It's a short 10min bus ride to and from Dubrovnik and the bus stop is 1min away. (make sure you get an explanation on the bus routes both to and from. We took the wrong bus out of Dubrovnik and it took an hour to get back) Gordana and Zeljko were easily reachable and always returned emails and texts which gave us a peace of mind. We stayed here towards the end of June and the AC was adequate in the main area but i'm not sure how it would be in the bedrooms if we were there in August. They did provide a fan but it wasn't strong enough in my opinion. But then again, we are from the USA and are guilty of liking it cold. The WiFi was fine as well as the overall cleanliness. One note to all landlords though is to clean the coffee pots and electric water pots. They are typically overlooked and require cleaning and it was the case here as well. We stayed here as the start to our 2 week Croatia trip and ended back in Dubrovnik 2 weeks later. At the end of our trip we stayed in the heart of Old Town which was also very nice. Again, we were here before the heat and main tourist season. I'm told that the festivals go on all night long in Old Town starting end of July so perhaps it would have been too noisy. Make sure you take the cable car up for dinner or just drinks. It was well worth it! Bottom line... I would stay here again.

My friend and I stayed here in September. We found the apartment to be very spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable with quality linen. We loved sitting on the balcony taking in the wonderful views, and always took our breakfast in the covered area of the terrace. However, if you want to have a great view, you have to climb up and down almost 400 stairs to the Old Town. There is a bus close by but we chose to keep fit by using the steps, although we always got a taxi back in the evening. Correspondence with Gordana was always prompt, polite, informative and extremely helpful. Zeljko, who manages the property, lives downstairs and was an absolute delight to deal with! If returning to Dubrovnik in the near future (which I would love to do) I would definitely stay at this apartment, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my family and friends.

This fantastically appointed apartment is a charming and picturesque 15 minute walk down to the Old City of Dubrovnik. The apartment is exceptionally spacious and wonderfully maintained. It features a large dining room, living area with television, excellent wifi even on the balcony, two large bedrooms, 2 clean and modern bathrooms (one with an excellent shower) a sofa bed and an extra cot. We were only 4 but it could easily have slept 7. There are also all the mod cons of fridge, stove, dishwasher and laundry. The best part about the apartment is the absolutely HUGE balcony with stunning views of the Adriatic. There is a dining set on the balcony, & we ate all our meals outside, enjoying a beautiful breeze. I spent hours on the terrace watching ships sail in and out of the harbour, and the sunsets were breathtaking. The management of the property is fantastic and very quick to respond to emails/calls & thoroughly honest in all their dealings. Zeljko, who manages the property and lives right downstairs, is wonderfully helpful with any tourism/directions/apartment and questions and Gordana and Sean, as the property owners, are delightful. The walk back up from the Old City requires you to climb a lot of stairs--which was great for us because we needed the exercise and it really allowed us to glimpse the whole city from all these different, truly lovely viewpoints--and we also interacted much more with local residents as we climbed. It may be strenuous for the elderly or disabled, but you can catch a taxi right to the top from just outside Pile Gate for $15-$20. We never took a taxi because we found the climb exhilarating (and this way we could eat a lot more!) Many of the stairs are wide and flat, and there are periodic breaks, so it's easily manageable. There are 2 markets, a pizza place, a bus stop, car rental and tourism office about 7 minutes down the stairs. The upstairs neighbours have an adorable kitten named Skaretz whom you must meet! Some have complained about construction noise, but we found it absolutely minimal and never at a time when we wanted to sit outside. All the main construction is done, and it should be noted that all around the city there are small projects, so a little noise is unavoidable no matter where you stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and loved the people, the city and this gorgeous apartment most of all!
