About this house rental

Our thatched apartment is very cozy and equipped with everything you need for self-catering. It is a detached house over 214 years old, which is not particularly large, but with its charm more than makes up for this fact. In addition to gas central heating and an additional gas stove with wood fire optics (€ 3.50 per unit - calculated using a gas meter), this cottage has its own router with fast and reliable internet, satellite TV, kitchen corner, shower / toilet, sofa, double bed, Table & chairs, outdoor veranda and private parking space. If you don't feel like cooking, you can order breakfast in our small restaurant, which only has 16 seats, for € 6, - and a 3-course menu for € 9, - to € 12, - per person. From your cottage you have a view of Lough Allua, a fish-rich 10km long lake that you can explore with our boats and canoes. We also rent bicycles, single and double seater canoes and offer riding lessons and rides on our two horses Beamish and Feilim, 2 relaxed "Irish Cobs".

Nice and clean and everything was provided for self-catering. Greg and Ziggy were very friendly and did not interfere with you in any way. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the bed was so comfy 😋. My Rating: 10/10 Eugene

Although not fishermen, we found the area ideal for exploring and reaching tourist spots. Every bend had a magnificent view. A must to visit is Garinish Island. We had a warm welcome and delicious evening meal, caught by Greg. The cottage was tiny but cosy and had everything we needed. Thoroughly recommend this location and hosts

The location is perfect to have a quiet stay and enjoy some walks. The host, Greg, is available and propose several services. At our arrival our house was extremely humid and cold and if you want to use the heating you have to pay for it. Toilet paper is also at your charges.

I absolutely loved the place. It was a true Ireland countryside experience and a great location for exploring surroundings. My dog was warmly welcomed and we had great walks nearby. Owners were super friendly and i felt at home. Got great local tips and all the other visitors were very friendly too.

This resort is a bit isolated, but if you're going here that's probably what you're looking for. You can come here and eat 3 delicious hand made meals a day at this gorgeous property. Greg and Sigi are friendly and personable and have literally everything you would need right here on site. Be prepared to come with some extra cash as heat and towels cost extra, but they are honestly so affordable. If you have a car, there is a lot to do, but even with no car you can catch a taxi from Macroom, and there is tons of beautiful country to walk through and also adorable horses to ride and the option to rent bikes. A great time, definitely worth making a trip out of.

I stayed for 4 nights with my son, and it was so tranquil. The location is ideal for those who are looking for a relaxing break but want to be close to tourist destinations. We went to Cork City one day and Killarney the next and then spent a day just chilling and doing nothing but watching TV and movies. Greg and his wife are the perfect hosts and lovely to talk to, we had a lovely fried breakfast most days which set us up perfectly, and sitting in the conservatory having breakfast, looking out at the beautiful view and listening to the birds was heaven. I will definitely be going back.

Wunderschön in der Natur gelegen mit Blick über Tal und Hügel. Sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die auch sehr viel anbieten wie (natürlich) Angeln, Kanu fahren, Reiten, Radfahren. Der Ort hat seinen ganz besonderen Zauber und wer die Natur und die Natürlichkeit schätzt ist hier genau richtig.

The cottage is located in a quiet area, perfect for relaxation, our little boy loved the surrounding area where he could see horses and other farm animals. As soon as we arriveed there was somebody to show us around. Overall an wonderful experience.
