About this house rental

Welcome our hidden treasure, beach holiday house. Unwind and have a relaxing stay. You'll find everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, your 'home away from home'. Walking through the doors you'll immediately feel at ease with the inviting ambiance, soft tones, cosy furniture decor. All of the beds have comfortable luxurious linen and electric blankets for those cooler winter nights.

This two-storied house features an open plan kitchen, lounge, dining area. The private fully-fenced section has outside decking over two levels. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one separate toilet, and fully contained laundry to cater to your family's needs.

This house does not contain television but has 'fiber broadband' for those who wish to stay connected to the outside world with wifi while on their stay.

There is off-street parking on either side of the house, with a single lockable garage.

Neighbourhood:
Within 50m walk you'll find a children's playground and picnic area before reaching the stunning Ocean View Beach. Just 15 minutes drive from Dunedin airport and 20 minutes Dunedin city centre. This property is well suited for anyone who is looking for a getaway on the outskirts of Dunedin.

Around the corner from our house, you will find a Fish and Chip shop. Within walking distance, just over the hill, you'll find the quaint township of Brighton. You can enjoy a coffee or breakfast from the cafe or an ice-cream from the convenience store. Brighton hosts a surf club where you can enjoy swimming in the beach in a safely patrolled area. In nearby Green Island (8 min drive), you'll find a Fresh-Choice supermarket, petrol stations, cafes, health services and various other amenities including some great Chinese takeaways.

At the end of the street is a bus stop, making it handy to get buses into Dunedin City

Swimming:
Ocean View is a stunning beach with glorious views and rocks to explore. However, it is noted to not be a safe beach to swim in. There are strong, dangerous rips. For safe swimming, it is advised to head around to 'Big Rock' at Brighton Beach to the patrolled area.

Really enjoyed the location. Was able to take long walks on the beach while still being close to Dunedin for access to its restaurants. House was large enough for multiple adults and had both washer and dryer which was convenient as this was a stop in a longer trip. We really appreciated the electronic keypad entry since we had people coming and going on different schedules. Would definitely stay hear again if I was ever in the area.

Appropriately sharing the ambience and warmth of my late mothers name Rānui, our family thoroughly enjoyed thus home. Great amenities and close proximity to everything when needed. The 2min walk to the beach and playground a bonus! Highly recommended.

Lovely family holiday home with all the comforts of home. Enjoyed the Kiwi Scrabble - now I have to go and buy a board for our own collection. Beautifully warm and comfortable. Beach is stunning for long walks, and amazing sky.

The accomadation was perfect for my family, plenty of space, perfect location in walking distance to the beach, pellet fire which made it cosy while playing games with the family. The place was well equipped for family and entertainment. The owner was quick to respond to messages when needed. I would certaintly hire the house again, perfect spot.

The house is a quaint property on the outskirts of Dunedin. The home is warm and comforting providing ample space to relax. Location is right near the beach, a vast uncrowded space ideal for long walks and the odd Sea Lion sighting. The host was very accommodating with every request. Only one disappointment was that there is no TV available which could be a problem with a family of small children. Overall a lovely stay and would certainly go back again.

The accommodation was lovely and truly comfy. Thoroughly enjoyed the walks along the nearby beach every day too. Communication with Lauren was easy and responses prompt. Would rent it again in a heartbeat!

The house is located near the beach and is a good location to view Galaxy / Southern Lights if weather permits. However, it was cloudy during our stays. The landlord responds quickly to our request. Overall, the stay in this property is satisfactory.

This property worked out well for our stay. The kids loved being close to the beach. Our only bad experience was that it was hot during our stay which meant we had to sleep with the windows open and unfortunately we were mauled by mosquitoes!

Comfortable, warm, clean, nicely furnished house. Contained everything we needed. The kids were in 7th heaven when they discovered the toys and games. Well situated, close to the beach, also close enough to Dunedin for easy day trips. Would definitely stay again!

Having visited Dunedin for the first time, Ranui on the beach was perfect for our family from Otara Sth Auckland. It wasnt too far from town because the views distracted any gas monitoring. The house itself was a holiday in itself-everything you need is all packed in this cute 2 level homely home. Having no tv at the house meant our kids played board games, spent time at the white sandy beach which is literally a 5min walk and the world is your oyster when you seize the morning from the master bedroom window. Such a lovely feeling looking foward to coming home after a days out exploring Dunedin, Invercargill etc Lauren checked on us when the recent flooding hit central Otago, thankfully we were not affected as bad as most around Brighton Rustic, cozy, homely and beachy yet family friendly (catered to a pacific island family might i add) i would so come back to Dunedin, first stop Ranui at the beach. Thank you Becker family!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ranui. The house is comfortable and roomy and set up with nearly everything you might need. 5 minutes walk to playground and beach and well positioned to capture as much sun as possible! Indoor outdoor flow is great! House was warm, even when it snowed, we loved all of the places available to lounge around and read a book!

We stayed at Ranui whilst introducing some friends from Australia to the surf rich coastline of the Dunedin area. Lauren and James were friendly and helpful throughout the booking process and we were stoked to find their house as friendly and welcoming as they were. Ranui is charming, comfortable and well equipped. It's just seconds from the beaches at Ocean View and Brighton, a short hop to Blackhead and explorers will definitely find a quiet spot to potentially surf all alone. There's loads of space to hang out your wetsuits, store boards and still take in the evening from the deck. We'll definitely come again!
