About this house rental
Our lovely home, Three Bears IN THE VALLEY, is located in the mountains of beautiful Canaan Valley at the Windwood Fly-In Resort. Surrounded by spectacular views of the Timberline and Canaan Valley ski areas, cascading mountains, and beautiful Mother Nature, our extraordinary home and its surroundings will take your breath away and alleviate your stress.
Unique to this mountain-top community, the 3000 x 40 foot airstrip, partly visible from our home, can accommodate most small planes and helicopters and is a great attraction to many flight enthusiasts.
Three Bears offers a convenient and open floor plan with beautiful Brazilian cherry floors throughout the main areas. A fully equipped, modern kitchen, spacious dining area, cozy living space with fireplace, and a comfortable TV area will make this a family-friendly retreat you will long to return too. The spacious kitchen has stainless steel appliances, genuine linoleum flooring, granite countertops, and a large breakfast bar perfect for entertaining. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large four-plank, country-style farm table with bench seating, large enough to accommodate six people comfortably. A gas log fireplace and cozy living area with spectacular views await your tired body after a spectacular day enjoying the great outdoors. A fully equipped entertainment area with a flat screen TV, cable, and DVD player awaits you on those days you want to just be inside and relax.
Also on the first floor you will find the “Spoke & Crank” room, a quaint bedroom decorated in all things cycling (a passion of ours), perfect for the cycling aficionado! The queen-size Sleep Number bed is a special treat for those achy bones, and there’s plenty of closet space for your luggage, making this first-floor room a real escape. A full-size bathroom with a tub/shower is also located on the first floor next to the bedroom. The laundry area, located next to the main entrance, will provide you easy clean-up options for the duration of your stay.
The second floor of our home is comprised of two spacious bedrooms (fully carpeted) and a charming full size bath. The “Whispering Water” room, the large master bedroom, is situated on the front of the home and allows for spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and ski areas. Accommodations in this room are fabulous, including a king size Sleep Number bed, spacious sitting area for reading or relaxing, and a flat screen TV. The “Great Black Bear” room, and second bedroom on this floor, is really a treat for the kids or additional guests, with two twin-sized beds and a futon sofa for relaxing. A large closet stocked with board games and other fun things will keep the family busy if being inside is where you want to be.
The side deck area has a relaxing private hot tub (four people) with views of the mountains and a nice sitting area for that relaxing morning or evening break. The front deck has a picnic table that seats up to eight for those pleasant outside dinners in front of the mountains.
Our home is comfortable, cozy, inviting, and very nicely decorated with heirlooms of local interest and historical significance. The original artwork is all done by local WV artists and our family. We ask that you enjoy and appreciate these items, and if any piece is of special interest, please contact Mountaintop Realty, and we will be happy to provide information on where you can purchase it or have it made.
Thank you for choosing Three Bears IN THE VALLEY, and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. We look forward to your stay!

Awesome property, view and amenities.

Loved the hot tub!
Thank you for letting me stay! I called to ask for hot tub assistance and the person on the phone was helpful

Love the property, and will probably explore some other properties next year, just to see the variety. However, Cirrus Drive is now our standard-bearer for what a Canaan Valley property should be. Everybody is great at Mountaintop (especially Frank).

My wife and I loved the sleep number beds! We don’t have one at home, so it was great to sleep on one.
Was a relaxing getaway in a beautiful cabin. Easy rental process. Becky kept us informed on everything up until the day of arrival.

Overall I enjoyed my stay but I was very disappointed about not being able to use the hot tub for most of my stay. Everyone I interacted with were very pleasant.

Property was superb.. we were in paradise. Very helpful

The first floor bed was not very comfortable. Did not work with team members,

The home was even nicer than I was expecting based on the photos. Very clean and spacious. The hot tub was definitely a favorite. I felt well informed throughout the booking process. Only thing that was a little difficult was figuring out how to pay the pet deposit.
4.8
The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture was very comfortable and well maintained. The team was wonderful. Upon arrival to the rental I called because I could not get cable. They sent someone to the house immediately. Two days later we lost the key to the rental. They were very kind and understanding and gave us another one with no questions asked. (We found the misplaced key that evening in the driveway).

The place was great: comfortable, easy to access, well-decorated, had all the amenities we desired, and was quite clean. Staff were clear, efficient, friendly, and communicative.

We LOVED staying at this property. We were not necessarily looking for seclusion or “roughing it”. We live in WV. This was not our first trip to the area. The hot tub was great in January. The house was in a great location. Very close to ski resorts and not too far from Davis/Thomas. He house’s amenities all worked without any problems. It was large enough for my family of 6. We loved the sunrise from the master bedroom. The bear themed room was definitely a favorite. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was very CLEAN!! The rugs in the mud room were perfect for snow/ski. We look forward to returning to this property. The online process was easy. The no contact check in/out was easy, too.

We loved the house itself and the hot tub. We came back for a second stay because we love it so much. It is a blessing to sit in the hot tub, looking at sunset, the moon or the stars after a day cross-country skiing at nearby White Grass. The house has easy winter access (compared to some houses on steep hills in the Timberline). A big plus: the Wi-Fi is reasonably fast (for the countryside) and (most importantly) reliable! It did not go out during our two stays. I caught up on work here every evening. Easy to access WiFi as well (no issues). Named after the owner, her husband, and her daughter, the “Three Bears” is a tastefully decorated home with a lot of thoughtful touches. It was very clean and well maintained. We were here for Christmas in December 2020 and there was a beautiful Christmas tree by the fireplace; each bed had a plush bear. This time, in January, there was no tree but the giant teddy bear in the living room remains. From decorative plates to paintings, this place is decked out in the theme of black bears. Great insulation (important in winter months!). House is well stocked in terms of toilet papers, kitchen paper towels, and bath and face towels. The downstairs bedroom has a closet with hangers which come handy. The kitchen is well stocked. We cooked every meal here during our week-long stay and during our previous stay as well. Do bring (olive) oil for cooking. The highlights are the wooden panels throughout, the A-frame ceiling, and the big windows in the second floor main bedroom with an amazing view of the runway (this is a fly-in resort) and Timberline mountains in the distance. They’ve got Sleep Number beds, and every corner of the house shows love and the owners’ passions: old snow shoes, old cross-country skis, lamps made from parts of bicycles, books on bicycling and hiking, and more.

We really enjoyed the hot tub, the fun decor, the great towels, and the awesome sunrise views from the master bedroom. Very helpful and efficient.

We had a great stay at Three Bears. The house is well stocked with all of the essentials, clean and well cared for. The hot tub was a big plus. We would return for another stay.

27 Cirrus. Beautiful home. Great appointments, modern, quiet. Decorating wonderful. Had a person in wheelchair so accessibility was a challenge. All online.

As stated, great property. The issue with the water was an inconvenience but couldn't be helped. Our only real complaint was lack of access to trash dumpster. Others must have had a similar problem because there was trash bags on the ground around the dumpster. We ended up bringing trash back with us! Thank goodness for a pick up truck! Very efficient and pleasant

Awesome! We loved it No complaints! Very easy to deal with and quick to respond. Something to note, the email system Airbnb uses (the one that is supposed to hide your actual email address) had trouble getting through to you guys. I just messaged directly and got it taken care, so it didn't bother me. I just wanted to point out in case you are having trouble communicating with other guests, their messages may not get through that way

Beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, fantastic hot tub

Clean, tastefully decorated, good beds/linens, nice hot tub. Really friendly, working late so got my key personally upon arrival, pleasant surprise. The bogo coupon included for canaan was great, would be even better if you gave a few extras :)

Excellent accommodations. Unit furnishings are much nicer than others we've rented in past. Home is well maintained and the décor is great!

Had an excellent time, nice and quiet everything was more than we expected. Very helpful and pleasant, why would anyone stay at the lodge when you can have your own place for about the same money.

Loved it. Great property Friendly

Our second time staying at three bears. My wife likes it better than any other properties we have stayed at, and we have enjoyed all the properties. We always have a great time in the Canaan Valley and Mt. Top and Becky Ray is a big part of that. Becky Ray is great, your entire team is always very helpful.

Perfect place. Very good

The house has much higher quality (finishes, furniture, fixtures) than most rental properties in the area. The staff are so accommodating and made several changes to our booking without fuss.

The house was beautiful, no complaints. Easy to work with Becky.

Three Bears is an updated, attractive and clean property. The views from the master bedroom are excellent. After a long day of skiing, there is nothing better than relaxing in the hot tub! Very friendly staff with excellent customer service!

We had a great visit Efficient, friendly and helpful

We loved it! It was a great weekend and we hope the home is available when we return to ski! Communication from Becky prior to arriving was efficient and helpful. I don't know if it was Becky working the desk when I dropped off the key at check out, but she was very friendly and warm!
