Walk out of the Peake House front yard and take a right and you are four houses from Mac's Shack; take a left and you're a half dozen houses from the Town Pier. Peake House itself is part of a larger property that abuts Wellfleet's Commercial street on one side and Duck Creek down on the water.

We have just recently begun renting this apartment for seasonal stays.
Peake House features sunrise views from the kitchen and living area out towards Duck Creek. The house was built nearly years ago by whaler merchant Samuel Peake. This Commercial Street house is halfway between the town pier and Mac's Shack. Beautiful location with stunning views, clean apartment, attentive manager, and helpful tips provided by property owner.

Immaculate, well-appointed apartment with all the amenities and none of the clutter. Inviting space with cool, eclectic artwork. I misplaced my key the second night I was there and the on-site property manager, Steve, had to leave work to come give me a spare. He could not have been nicer or more gracious, which I greatly appreciated. Beautiful place in a beautiful town!

Comfortable space for a couple. Lovely apartment and view! Easy walk to groceries/restaurants and Mayo Beach. We drove to many different nearby swimming beaches—so many to choose from (after paying for resident parking permit). The bedroom felt rather dusty. We assumed there would be beach towels (we had to buy some) and expected higher-quality bath towels for the price, but we would definitely stay here again.

Chased out by Hurricane Lee but otherwise very good week. Good location with nice view of Duck Creek area. Probably best view of the 5 apts in main house. Mgr super-attentive. Nice layout of apt, very clean. Would definitely consider staying again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Awesome location close to town and within easy walking to the marina and public beach. Nice view and breezes from nearby Duck Creek. Easy access to and quick response from the property owner who shared helpful tips for making the most of our week on Cape Cod.

Sweet, recently renovated apartment in a vintage house, perfect for a couple or single. It's the only residence on the 2nd floor, very private. Lots of windows, a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed, nice shower. Charming artwork on the walls. There are two single futon "couches" in the living area, comfortable for lounging and could sleep two children. Window air conditioner is noisy, but we only needed it on the hot day we arrived. You can walk to everything in Wellfleet from here--including the market, if you want to stock the fridge. If you sit on the porch to read you might notice some traffic on Commercial Street, but it's quiet at night, not a problem. Really a lovely spot!

We loved our Wellfleet stay at this property! The 2nd floor space means gorgeous views of the bay while from your exquisitely decorated living room window. The hosts were helpful and lovely. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

The apartment is centrally located, but uncomfortable. The outdoor spaces are shared and were busy when we were there. The bed and couches are uncomfortable. It wasn't ready on time (90 minutes late) and insufficiently cleaned. Nice historic home, but we left early even though we love Wellfleet.

What an amazing place ! Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. The pictures do not do this place justice. Eva was so accommodating. Her sister Sarah lives on the property as well as her mother and father we talked to them all they really made our trip. You can’t beat the view from the back yard!!! We already want to go back again.

I gave the Peake House, second floor apartment five stars for a few reasons the first of which being that it perfectly met our expectations for the weekend we had planned. To explain, we are very familiar with Wellfleet and we were there for a four night weekend to attend a wedding. We wanted some space (bigger than a motel room) and a good location that we could comfortably retreat to from the multiple festivities of the wedding weekend. The apartment itself was quaint, clean and comfortable. Ample room for two people. The kitchen was well equipped. Full sized refrigerator. Nice, full size stove. Plenty of counter space with a good size dining counter (there is no dining table). The bathroom had plenty of room for our things and a good shower (no tub). The bedroom was good sized, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for us to unpack our clothes. This is not a “view” rental per se but you could see the tidal creek behind the property from the living room and kitchen windows. You have access to the property and we spent some peaceful morning time sitting in very comfortable lawn furniture looking out on Duck Creek in the properties back yard. The front porch on Commercial St. is a great spot to sit and watch folks go by. It’s an easy walk to a number of restaurants in the village as well as the Wellfleet Market, liquor store, harbor and bay beach. Sara, the proprietor, was helpful but unobtrusive. A special, unexpected treat; the apartment was full of great art, much of which was created by Sara’s mom.
This is a different Wellfleet experience from renting a cottage but the convenient location in the village was an immersive and enjoyable experience.
