Fantastic Hosts

Can't think of anything we really liked, although the library upstairs felt homely.
The continental breakfast was very poor the least choice we have ever encountered, the cooked food again poor quite tasteless only had 1/4 of a tomato with a full English and sausage sandwich only managed to be warm. Had to keep asking for condiments etc. Cabins come with cobwebs and spiders, the outside areas unkept lots of weeds and overgrown plants/trees

The location was a perfect little hideaway for a weekend get away! Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious! The staff were friendly and approachable! There was a wide range of food in the evening! The cabin was lovely and had a cosy feeling to it! The extra special surprise was the guinea pigs roaming free! It was a home away from home!
4.0
We used the cabins to visit friends in the area, liked the idea of sleeping in those as so quiet

Great location and super hosts

Self contained cosy cabins - warm even in the snow! Lovely facilities and a very friendly pub just next door! We loved it!
A lovely remote location too … great if you like walking, hiking, geocaching or running as surrounded by well maintained footpaths and beautiful countryside! Also only a few miles from Dorchester and Weymouth.
Nothing! The hosts worked really hard to make us feel welcome and we’ll definitely be back!

The owners / hosts were very friendly. Will especially worked really hard and cooked us lovely breakfasts each morning. The decking was very slippery and they were both concerned we didn't slip, I suggested maybe putting some rubber mats down and when we came back from our day out there were mats which really helped. I would recommend staying here as the hosts were fairly new at this and I expect in a short time the place will be even better.
We stayed for 7nights and our room was not cleaned throughout our stay. The bathroom especially needed a clean and the bins emptying. Having said that the lady owner had hurt her arm and was in a sling for the last few days of our stay and Will did ask us the day before we were leaving if we needed anything for our room and apologised for not asking sooner. I felt bad to complain as he had been coping on his own.

We enjoyed our stay at the rivers Arms. It was handy for sightseeing we wanted to do locally. The staff were very friendly the room was great. Breakfast was good and available until 10am so no having to get up too early. We would be happy to stay here again.
4.5
Really friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. The cabins were good value and easily accessible.
The food and drink were extremely value for money and we were genuinely impressed with both the staff and the service provided. Would we come again - 100%!!
4.5
Location as expected, very quiet and tranquil, some lovely views from area. Hosts are extremely helpful and welcoming. Will and Lil are amazing people. It was a pleasure staying there.
3.5
The location was peaceful, good for relaxing, the hosts really friendly.
There was not much near by, but a good venue to go and explore from.
Weymouth was worth a day out
The baby guinea pigs were a bonus!
The WiFi didn't extend to the chalet and poor phone signal, but to be honest we just made use of the connection in the main restaurant.
So not really a negative

the cabin was comfortable the shower was lovely the views of countryside not that i had a view i
had a big tree stuck in front of me kettle and fan in room
the gentleman was lovely but his wife not so ,,quite rude dont book here if you are a smoker u have to walk down a hill to the pub to smoke its a good 30-45 min to get to any coast there is no atmosphere at this place the pub is very quiet and boring £5,50 a pint of larger had no WiFi all weekend so couldn't do my work even thou it states WiFi no fridge in room so people forced to buy cold drinks from bar no shop around if you have mobility problems the hill up and down to top cabins quite steep

Love it was out the way of the big towns but only a short drive to everything local.
Nothing!

it was just right for me and my little boy!

The hosts were lovely but haven’t been in hospitality long, they would benefit from a little training. The cabins were lovely and peaceful no tv and the bar closed at 10pm so a good nights sleep.
The drive way is very steep to park by the cabins, didn’t like the pew seating when we went for breakfast and evening meals, quite uncomfortable.

Lovely, helpful staff. Very nice breakfast
No tv in room and couldn’t hang up clothes as no wardrobes

It was a lovely relaxing break. Location was peaceful and tranquil. The cabin was small but ideal for 2 nights with a nice en suite and balcony. Staff very friendly. Enjoyable to have meals on the outside terrace in the evenings.
Nothing not to like.

The breakfast was good, nicely cooked , plentiful and well presented.
The wi fi only worked for me on the balcony, but that was not a problem.

We did not like anything, apart from that the young couple were pleasant and understanding. We did not stay at this accommodation.
We could not stay, the distance from the dining area was too far, too steep, and the track surface unsafe. I am a very active 82 year old, my wife active 78, and this was just not practicable.

The food was brilliant
The staff were friendly
The big factor for me was no TV in the room

lovely cosy building with great chalet accommodation.
restaurant area a little uncomfortable on hard benches. I am pregnant so it wasn’t easy sitting there for very long.

the village is quite remote

The pub was very friendly, including staff and other customers. Food was good standard.
Family run business with all staff pulling together through difficult times for hospitality business.
The rooms were a bit basic, although reasonably priced.

The room, breakfast, and overall atmosphere was phenomenal. It’s worth staying a few nights
as a get away.
The only thing we didn’t like was that we only booked it for one night. We look forward to staying again in the future!
