The food was amazing, dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was immaculate.
Nothing was bad, but as it is a thatched building expect spiders, I am fine with them personally so it doesn't bother me but just as a warning to others.

Tradition unspoilt pub. Excellent food and atmosphere.

The rooms were clean, tidy and of good size. Menu was good, with a choice of specials.

More vegetarian dishes perhaps?

Great menu and even better wine list!! Service was superb from the gentleman in the bar who talked with us about the wines.
Lovely Wild Things toiletries in the bathroom and new fluffy white towels.
Somewhat chilly in our room when we arrived but we turned the heating full up, but it was still chilly in the restaurant (but was excruciatingly cold outside so…).

Breakfast and dinner were delicious
4.0
The breakfasts were excellent. Unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of other meals on this occasion, but the menu looked very appealing.
The in-bath shower access was difficult for us due to high sides. Just a shower would be better.

Large and really comfy room inside a great little pub. Excellent food for the evening, and wonderful owners. We were leaving before breakfast, and they put together a little breakfast sandwich to go.

Nothing really

Staff were very welcoming. Lunch dinner and breakfast were delicious. Our room was roomy, clean with everything we needed. The ambience at dinner was super.
There was plenty of room in the car park. Wi-Fi was free. Lovely walks near to Inn.
The Inn doesn’t have a name on the outside which was slightly confusing so I drove past initially!

Friendly and professional owners. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Peaceful rural location. Off-road parking.

The room underneath the eves was simple but the addition of large bedside lamps and huge numbers of cushions gave an air of luxury. The bathroom was clean if fairly basic. But overall, the room is good value and the views out onto the untrammeled lanes in the Dorset countryside and the hill opposite are glorious and it was incredibly quiet. Breakfast was good value
I had pre-warned them I might not be able to carry my own bag upstairs for health initially and then that I was coming with a broken wrist. Nothing had been written in the booking ledger apparently and I had to carry everything myself. However, there seemed to be only one guy on both evening and breakfast later and with a full dining room he was working really hard to keep up.
I was a bit disappointed with the food. The fish and chips appeared wonderful and the fish itself was really good. Chips were lack luster, but the batter was a disappointment. Light and crispy initially, it quickly turned to taste only of oil as it cooled and I had to abandon mine. That said, I saw other people clean their plates.
The big no was the coffee - literally undrinkable both at dinner and breakfast. A shame to leave a (literal) bad taste in the mouth.

Beautiful country pub with so much character. Our room exceeded all expectations. Thankfully we ate at the pub too and the food was phenomenal.

Pretty much everything. The fish and chips was extraordinarily good. Knocked our fish and chips at a certain Michelin star restaurant in Padstow out of the ballpark.
Nothing I can think of.delightful

The landlord, Matt, couldn’t have been more welcoming and attentive to everyone.
He bar had a good choice of drinks including cask ales.
The dinner menu was diverse and appealing, with a great specials board of options.
The room was very spacious, well decorated and really comfortable. There were excellent facilities to make tea and capsule coffee.
The bathroom was a large we room with a great shower.
Breakfast was simple, effective, very tasty and good quality. The yogurt, granola and fruit compote was lovely, as was the full English.
Value for money was excellent and we’ll now repeat the trip as a result of our stay.
Nothing. It was all positive.

A wonderful getaway far from large groups. The Brace of Pheasants is located in a wonderful corner of Dorset. Excellent food, lovely staff team.
Very little not to like. But worth knowing about that this is a pub in an old building. The bedrooms inside the building are not suitable for the infirm.

The pub is in a delightful country location
Unfortunately there had been a really cold snap and when we arrived the room was really cold. The owner switched the heating on as we walked into the room and it took a long time to heat up. We requested another heater at about 11 p.m. that night, which he willingly obliged us with. The stairway up to the room is close to the back entrance door which is sometime left open which didnt help with keeping any heat in the place. The cold is the only thing that spoilt it for us as the room was very nice and everything very clean, so despite the cold at other times this would not be an issue. The pub food was also of a high standard. Staff too were all very friendly.
