Our stay in mid-June was relaxing. We especially enjoyed the view of a pastoral hillside across the lake.
The cottage itself is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is compact, well stocked and efficient. The owners say in their description that they enjoy entertaining - the cottage seems well suited to that purpose, especially the stocked bar. We don't drink and were shocked to find free liquor there. All of the dining room chairs are so high that your feet don't touch the ground. We didn't find them comfortable for sitting or computer use. Same for the chairs around the table on the deck. The lighting is not very good for reading, but the couch and recliner are quite comfortable.
Sleeping was good. Very quiet. A firm mattress, but sheets were too small. Quiet air conditioning. Good temperature, once we learned how to adjust the thermostats.
Little boat traffic, as school was still in session. Fishing was not good even though June 15 was the opening day for bass. On one day, I kayaked for over an hour and only saw one other boat.
There is good shade for lounging by the lake in the morning, but little in the afternoon when it is hot. The patio chairs and ottomans are very comfortable but not the chairs by the lake. The geese like the shore, so goose poop was an issue. The dock is excellent and there were several kiddie kayaks and paddle boards. There was a canoe, but no canoe paddles.
In summary, a tidy, relaxing cottage despite minor inconveniences.

This property is in a beautiful location right on the lake. The house comes fully equipped with basically anything you'd need, a real home from home!

Nestled in a quiet location on the lake but still near all there is to do by the finger lakes. Great accommodation

Despite the rainy weather, we enjoyed a long weekend at this great property. The heated kitchen floor was a bonus! It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Great location. We visited 8 of the 11 Finger Lakes! We would definitely come back.

We stayed in early November and had a wonderful experience at the cottage. The beds were sooo comfortable. Enjoyed coffee down by the lake and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere throughout the day. The home was immaculate and offered every amenity we needed. Highly recommend this rental!

We had a great time at Duckingham Cottage! The area was so nice and it was nice to be on a smaller lake. The house was clean and updated and fit our needs perfectly! We had an issue where we had to call maintenance since we got locked out but they came within 20 minutes and got it fixed! Great communication and very helpful throughout the trip. Hope to stay here again in the future!

Everything was exactly as advertised. Freshness and cleanliness with beautiful views of the lake. My friends and I spent 12+ hours fishing on the lake. Coming back to a clean and updated cottage to grill & enjoy company sealed our love for this place. Property manager kept up consistent communication in case we needed anything but everything was already provided.

Our family enjoyed your home on the lake. Some of went to wineries, others over to Watkins Glen race course to catch the vintage races and others just relaxed in the backyard and used your paddleboards and kayaks in the lake.
I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a long weekend in the Fingerlakes area. The home is very clean, comfortable and has a great deck/patio area overlooking the lake.

Wonderful relaxing stay
The cottage was everything and more than we expected. Beautiful location on the lake with several options of outdoor seating to enjoy the lake front. Thankfully the A/C kept us comfortable while indoors. I have to admit there were a couple "downsides": 1) Geese & ducks tended to really like the two neighboring properties along with Duckingham Cottage, possibly the reason for the cottage name. Anyways, watch for poops by the water and on the dock. 2) Since the stay was so enjoyable, leaving was very melancholy. I can imagine this would be a great rental at any time of year. Would love a return visit in the future.

Great vacation spot espec for those with young children/grandchildren or several adults
Clean cottage with nice updates. Adequate kitchen well stocked. Really appreciated use of kayak, canoe, and young grandchildren ages 4 and 15 mos loved paddle boat with their parents. 4 yr old sang the Disney Moana songs as she held her ‘oar ‘in the water while in the canoe 😊Lake calm with occas gusty spells nothing dramatic. Didnt swim here but went to small ‘beach’ area Hammondport- about 10-15 min drive-stone bottom but grandChildren loved it - just need water shoes.Fishing off the dock and spots around the lake. Made fire in the firepit- seating for 10 down by the firepit! New deck table /chairs and new seating area furniture on patio. Plenty of linens provided which was appreciated. Additional party space was great- lots of games for all ages. Lawn for girls to run on. Easy access to wineries, craft breweries and restaurants. New restaurant /bar/music 5 min walk. Multple birds singing all the time-lovely-also saw Heron, Osprey, ducks, geese and even turtles sunning in channel connecting Waneta with Lamoka lakes.
Joleen was really easy to work with, very responsive- answered all of our questions. We had a great week. Thank you to Joleen and her crew!

Thanksgiving Trip
We stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday. House was clean and comfortable. It was cold and a bit snowy, but we started a fire in the wood stove, and the house was very cozy. the kitchen had everything we needed to make a full thanksgiving dinner. The bar area was great. There were a lot of games, and we enjoyed them almost every night. We enjoy the outdoors, and there were several hiking locations we visited on our trip. There are also a number of wineries to visit very close to the house. A very relaxing Holiday weekend, thank you for sharing it with us.

Amazing View
The cottage was clean and well equipped. The decor was very cute and not overdone. The weather was too cold during our stay to use all the water toys, but they looked like they were well maintained. The location is perfectly situated between Wakins Glen and Hammondsport. Our only complaint would be the bed and bedding on the master bed. Too hard for our taste, however, other people might find the hardness nice. The bedding was clean but needs to be updated. The sheets were too short on the sides and the comforter was too thin and too short on the sides. Also, a padded mattress cover would be a nice addition. Other than that small issue, we really enjoyed our stay at the cottage.

Overall Great Cottage
We loved Duckingham Cottage - the game room, the view, the kitchen had everything we needed, the canoe, the location, etc. The only complaint (which is kind of a big one) is that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable.

Perfect!
This cottage is so wonderfully decorated. It had tons of fun stuff for our 3 kids to do. It was fun trying out some new family games in the evening when the weather was cool. I was worried that the kitchen looked small, but that too worked out wonderfully. They have EVERYTHING you would need!

Great place
Great week with my family. Owner was more than accommodating. We had an event canceled in 2020 due to COVID. It was rescheduled during our trip unbeknownst to me when we booked. Even though she was certainly not obligated, I was refunded for the last day. Thinking about going again in the fall to check out the foliage

Great stay despite weeds and grass at shoreline and dock.
Awesome property, very quiet location, clean and well stocked. Place to dock our two boat’s however very grassy and weeding at dock it was a struggle getting the boats out, and absolutely no swimming or wading can be done from shoreline or dock. Otherwise it is a great location and stay.

This cottage is one of the best on this lake! We stayed here for a quiet bachelorette party and it was everything we could have asked for! It is so comfortable and welcoming. At Home on the Lake
My wife and I were seeking a waterfront getaway for her birthday. This one couldn't have been more perfect: beautiful setting on the lake; the house was spotless when we arrived, and it is very well equipped -- everything you need for cooking and enjoying for a few days. We brought our own canoes, but the provided canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are of good quality. There's lots of seating/relaxing options inside and out. The lake is gorgeous, and paddlers can co-exist easily with motorboaters, as this end of the lake borders a no-wake zone. Bird life is fascinating, fishing is fun. This is a serene place to center, to be comfortable, and to chill out. We'd love to return.

Cozy, quiet and clean!
We have frequented the Finger Lakes Region many times and this was the best and our favorite cottage. The location is close to Keuka and Seneca but yet far enough away from it all. The cottage was very well stocked and it felt like we were staying at a friend's place. Beautiful views and wonderful accommodations. We will be staying at Duckingham Cottage again.

My 2 friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage. The home was very clean and well stocked with kitchen and other necessities. We especially enjoyed the outside area and fire pit. The location was perfect for us as first time visitors to the Finger Lakes area - easy travel to many great wineries on Seneca and Keuka Lakes, and Watkins Glen. The kitchen is a bit small, as the photos of the property show, so group cooking was difficult. Other than this small detail, the property fully meet our expectations and needs.

Duckingham Cottage Stay on Finger Lakes
The cabin couldn’t have provided a better view of the lake and fall foliage from the living area and back deck. What a beautiful view to see all day! Cute little cabin that provided all we needed and then some. Had paddle boat, paddle boards, canoe, kayak, fire pit, fishing rods for outside lake enjoyment and provided lots of inside games for entertainment as well. A little gem to be enjoyed!

New to The Area
Wonderful home right on a small quaint little lake. The only minor disappointment was that that you had to go out in the lake to swim, to much lake weed by the shore. The accommodations and amenities were top notch!
