L'emplacement, chambre propre

We rented an appartment and it was really spaceus, comfortable and clean, there is a small and useful kitchen, a terrace and space to dry towels. Everybody can borrow stuff also from downstairs common kitchen, bikes are also there for common use. The host was really friendly and super hardworking, everything she made for breakfast was superb. Location is perfect, a short walk to the public beach. Highly recommended for pleasant family holidays.

Loved our stay here! Beautiful, big and bright room. Extended our stay by an extra night as loved Casa Bizu and Bacalar so much! Staff were super friendly, yummy breakfast and great to be able to take bikes out for free. Thank you so much!

Okay kitchen
Nice breakfast
Great location to centrum and the lagoon
Free bikes
Our room didn’t had a window so it was a bit dark and claustrophobic
The rooms downstairs are right to the kitchen so it can be noisy if there are other guests

Lovely staff with a delicious breakfast. Nice room, comfy bed. Good shower!! Very close to the zocalo, walking distance, easy parking and a sweet little pool area.
My room on the first floor was not far from the street so a bit noisy.

Breakfast was delicious, and we had a great time talking with one of the staff, Maria. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice. Room was spacious. It was super easy to walk to Zocalo which was perfect for just 1 night in town. Lots of restaurants to choose from -- we went to La Trattoria Del ‘46 and the food and service were outstanding!! (And great price too!)
I had the room downstairs near the entry; there was some street noise. I think upstairs is probably better, but I didn't want to haul my suitcases up the stairs for just 1 night!

Nicely laid out property with lovely outdoor area (has been improved since photo was taken). Comfortable beds, warm water, good breakfast. Usable kitchen. Larger bedrooms have balcony access. Good location.
WiFi was very poor and nonexistent in upstairs bedrooms. Hospitality was a bit weird - earliest you could get breakfast was 9am which is very late. I wasn’t allowed to have coffee before the time I had ordered my breakfast for and had to watch other people get served coffee while I wasn’t allowed any, even though I had been up since 5am due to jet lag. We had to leave all communal areas at 9.30pm… And I couldn’t access the pool before the housekeeper was there in the morning.

Good location, friendly lady staff, pool area was not bad
The male boss charged me 150 pesos for a super small load of laundry. The nice lady said before it would have been cheap but after the fact he told her to charge me 150. Wifi didn't work if my door was closed. The overall price for the room was too high. Room was right beside the road so could ear cars drive by.

good location, spacious room, quiet area and cute terrace
woman wasn’t very welcoming and only speaks Spanish, not one word English… didn’t clean our room during our stay, bad wifi connection so we used the wifi of the city the whole time, no private parking space only in the street in front of the hotel

Situated in the heart of Bacalar you can not go wrong with this place.
Small confined pool, but you don’t really need one as the lagoon is a great place to have a swim.

Josefina took amazing care of us! Breakfast was made with love, we were supplied with bicycles to take around, and the two women put a lot of effort into helping us figure out plans and connecting us with people who could make our dreams come true. We left with our hearts full and couldn't recommend this place enough.

The location was nice, close to the centre and lagoon
The hostess prepares breakfast with fresh fruits each morning which is yummy.
Communication was very difficult. The hostess did not speak any English.
I know a bit of Spanish but then still had a hard time communicating/ understanding each other.
Also we had the first room in the Casa and this was right near the entrance and the common area, we could hear everybody coming in and out.
This in combination with the hostess always being around we felt like we had very little privacy. Also the first night somebody rang the frontdoor bell which again right outside our room, nobody opened up (also we were to scared to do anything) and the person then started banging on the door but ultimately gave up. This was not a pleasant experience! Lastly, the water pressure in the shower was non-existent. Ultimately it was an okay stay but price quality wise not worth it in my opinion.

- Great location close to the center but no lagoon
view (6 mins away by foot)
- Staff was very nice, in particular the ladies who prepared the breakfast and who generously offered extra portions.
- Nice activities suggestions and recommendations
- The upper rooms are nice, however the downstairs’ one was extremely small and had no external window.
- Shower had no pressure at all.
- Breakfast was being prepared as of early in front of our room so we felt there was a lack of intimacy.

This is a really cute & homely stay.
The people that own it and work there are really lovely.
The breakfast is great and a good location near the lake & Los rapidos, restaurants and cafes.
Very secure and safe property with a cute pool

I had a lovely time at Casa Bizu - would highly recommend for travellers to Bacalar. The staff were so friendly and the pool and cold filtered water helped for those hot days! Walking distance to the lagoon and restaurants. It was so great I ended up extending my trip, would definitely return.

- comfortable bed, but short
- close to restaurants and the lagoon (15 minute walk to the ADO terminal)
- friendly staff
- looks way better on here than in reality, room isn’t really comfortable (a little bit of a stuffy smell to be honest). the bed was quite comfortable but really short (so don’t be tall), the pool is super small and the area isn’t really made for relaxing for several hours
- TV wasn’t working properly (turning it off an on again a couple of times helped though)
- our room was right next to the reception with a window on streetlevel, which both made everything very noisy - prepare to be woken up several times a night
- breakfast isn’t much quantity wise (don’t go for the pancakes, but rather for the scrambled egg + ham)

The location was great. The room, restrooms, kitchen, dining room were all very clean and comfortable. The pool was a little dirty but I believe this is due to the trees that sorround it. The staff was EXCELLENT, Gaby, Eva, and all others were really nice, attentive, and friendly. They were undoubtedly the highlight and best part of staying at Casa Bizu.
The pool was a little unclean. But overall really good experience.

Comfortable bed, good location, nice pool and good breakfast.
The bathroom was very smelly. There were some additional costs to pay when we arrived, so double check the amount you need to pay on arrival before booking as we were surprised.
