The only passable thing here were:
+ the quality of bedding (Confortable mattress and bed cover).
+ the beach in front of the hotel with baby black tip reef sharks to swim with (but you have that in all other beaches too - including Long Beach).
+ Staff was nice.
The rest was horrible.
I stayed in the shared room. It was a really bad experience. The room was « cleaned » every day, but they only did a 2 min swipe in the main area. There was a 5cm thick layer of dust all around the room and next to the bed. There was some packaging and crumbs leftover from the previous person on the side of my bed.
No curtains on the beds for privacy. Only 1 electric socket to charge devices. No private light on the bed, no little tablette to hold some small items. No mosquito net (and mosquitos are really a problem in this area!). This would all be passable for a budget room, but the price was SO EXPENSIVE! More than 20€ for a bed in a 10 beds shared room! This is robbery!
The bathroom was a living nightmare! It smelled very badly like sewage. The sink was broken and pipes were blocked, so the water wouldn’t drain properly. At some point there were some larvae of insects swimming in the sink. Simply sickening! No hot water of course, but anyway the bathroom smelled so bad and was so disgusting that you wouldn’t spend more than 1min in it.
Also, the hotel is pretty far from everything. 50min walk through the jungle to get to Long Beach (where it is a bit more lively). But that depends on your preference, maybe you like to be very quiet.
I wouldn’t wish to my worst enemy to take a room there. Run away! I booked this place because I was worried there wouldn’t be any accommodation if I just walk in, but most of the accommodations are not on booking. Super easy and always available accommodations on Long Beach if you walk in. And much cheaper!

Very friendly and helpful staff, a bit more secluded from the main tourist area

I stayed in the dorm and it was clean and comfortable, there are lockers and the breakfast was nice (especially the pancakes). It’s away from all the restaurants and the main beaches so it’s on a more hidden and chilled beach/area.
There is no service and the wifi works really bad which I get it cause you are on an island but maybe not the best place to stay if you have to work.
It’s a 20-30 minutes walk from the main area so if you are traveling solo and you want to have dinner at another restaurant you have to walk in the dark jungle which for me was scary. The food there was expensive (~20rn) for noodles and the portions are small.

It being close to the beach is just amazing. Some of the staff friendly.
Somehow this place kept disappointing me. I would say it's not inherently bad, but for me totally not the right vibe:
At first had to pay extra tax besides the tourist fee, that I knew of. Therefore a bed in a basic dorm became really expensive.
I found the some of the staff annoying, being loud, trying to joke annoyingly, like they couldnt read the room.
Also please note that this place is just a resort, it has a real resort vibe, with families and children, not solely a hostel with only backpackers around.
Food from the restaurant are small portions, and there is no water dispenser. Smelly bathroom.
For solo/budget travelers: really consider the resort vibe that this place has. The other perhentian island offers basic and nice hostel/homestays as well, that are much more authentic.

Great people and location! Good food as well. The island is a lot of fun with many things to do. Just a 20 minute walk to coral beach and 25/30 to long beach. Taxi boat service was nice as well.
Bathroom was not as hygenic as we would like. The smell was not fresh. You are however in a jungle so it can’t be as perfect as we might expect.

Really great location, you can reach different parts of the islands by walk. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast!
Just one single bathroom/toilet for the dorms

The location was amazing.
The staff were super friendly.
The breakfast was good.
It would be better if they seperated the bathroom from the shower in the dormitory so if someone is showering the bathroom would be still accessible.

The chalet is located at a remote location. A very nice place if you want to relax. It was around 45 minutes to Long Beach. The walk to Long Beach from this Chalet is a bit scary tho. Not recommended if you want to party.
I stayed at the dorm. Everything was good but will be better if they add another light in the dorm.

The hotel was overall well clean and with nice taxi boat service.
Both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were not meeting our expectations. The quality of food was pretty bad.
Service was okey but could have been better..

Location was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Family room was ideal for our needs
5.0
The hotel is on a small and private beach, and it is within walking distance of other beaches around the area, i.e. Keranji/ Mira Beach, Coral Bay and Long Beach. The staff was generally friendly and they offer free snorkels and life vests.
The value of the place is low. The room is not well cleaned, the bathroom was still dirty even upon check-in. While my understanding from what I read online is that the general cleanliness standard with hotels in Perhentian Island is low, our room cost more than what similar places were asking for ( we paid more than RM400 per night). In addition, there was still renovation waste left on the side of the private beach. As with many reviews, the food offered at breakfast and the restaurant is not great. We walked over to Keranji (5 minutes on foot) where the food was better.
This place has a lot of potential if the management would look into improving the overall cleanliness of the rooms, facilities, private beach, and the quality of the food.

I really liked the breakfast options, the staff was super friendly, they came to clean the room everyday and the place is in a sort of provate beach area.
The only issue is that if you want tos tay late at Long Beach it is difficult to make your way back

Everything is good
Wi-Fi could be better quite frankly

It's nice to stay there. The workers are so kind and the bed is soft and clean.
The food is not enough to eat .
10.0
It’s almost private beach, the room views, the terrace and bed were really nice. The diving school and, the best of all, the staff.
Sometimes we had to wait for the water to work on our top room, but the staff helped successfully.
7.0
Friendly and engaging staff. Hotel ok for two or three nights. Average meal. Huge untapped potential. If you are looking for a zen and serene place on a heavenly beach, this may not be the best choice. For a base very well placed to explore the island it is a good choice. The central part of the beach is rather maintained.
Another positive side, close to the Crocodile bar and restaurant which is excellent. On the other side, Karanji Resort, fabulous, on a very beautiful and excellently maintained beach.
No filtered water but plastic bottles. Unfortunately sewage odors that prevent you from enjoying the Beach front level terraces. AC is unusable (at least in our room). Basic rooms and minimalist room cleaning. No comfort or cozy place to rest, hectic and noisy atmosphere because there is no distinction between the customer area and the hotel management area. The sides of the beach are used as waste disposal: bottles, plastics of all kinds, old broken deckchairs, old pipes, etc. This is not what we like to see in a national park.
7.0
The view from my room was wonderful. It's a beautiful spot and it's very easy to walk to the other beaches and try their snorkelling. The family are nice. They can arrange trips for you and there's a cafe.
Communication was a big problem. You need to check all arrangements thoroughly yourself. Don't rely on what they tell you, even after confirming online arrangements over the phone.
They offered to arrange my transport to the island and I said yes, please. They said it was arranged and quoted prices, but when I got there it turned out that the last boat would leave half an hour before I could get from the airport to the jetty.
Fortunately, the taxi driver they arranged was very efficient and made several phone calls, getting the last boat to wait - then he drove like a fiend. I heard that I wasn't the first person that week to have the same communication problem about transport.
It also really wasn't very clean and I'm not hugely fussy. There was just no concept of clean surfaces or cleaning those great windows, or the walls in the bathroom (which had a constant leak that kept things wet).

Great location and nice bethroom
Smelly bathroom. Old and not aligned with the rest of the hotel.
6.0
Location was good and staff were humble. They helped in transferring the luggage to the rooms.
Offered welcome drinks which was refreshing.
Arrange boat transfers and trips upon request.
A little bit over priced food items and meals. The meal quantity is also a bit less when compared with the prices.
Beachfront banglow was a little overpriced. May be because of the view, however the room amenities were just ok. No tissue at all in the room.
7.0
The beach is amazing. It feels like a privat beach.
The room wasn’t so good, specially the bathroom.
6.0
Staff are lovely, there is a restaurant available, on a nice part of the beach. Air con and electricity can be used all day.
The bathroom in the women's dorm is shared between 10 people and has an unbearable stench. Not very clean also. Dorms are overpriced because you can get a private room elsewhere for about 100rm.
