The location was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The owner was nice and checked on our stay. The breakfast was made to order and excellent.
The Inn is on a busy road and road noise was noticeable for us.

We stayed in The Duck Island Room. It was clean and comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The rest of the Inn is well decorated and cared for with a high level of attention given to detail. The grounds are beautiful and have great access to a riverside dock from which you can launch kayaks, which are provided free of charge. Highly recommended and we'll be visiting again!

Probably one of the best experiences I’ve EVER had. Meri and Hilda were so warm and accommodating. The home is marvelous, beautiful and SO cozy. My room had the softest bedding imaginable (I bought a set!) Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The surroundings were stunning! Few minutes from the beach and cafes. Definitely coming back!!

Very well decorated - almost like a museum, very clean
It was such a weird experience!! we were sent a code of how to enter the property. Music was playing and the lights were on and we had a look around a very nicely furnished lobby and large sitting room but no-one was there. We had directions to our room and little notes in frames were dotted everywhere around the house advising what could be used etc. But no-one there!! It was like being in a spooky movie. As we were travelling around the whole of New England (travelling from the UK) we had large and heavy suitcases, which because of our room allocation, meant that we struggled to get our cases up steep stairs. No-one to ask for help or a change of room. And whilst the room was well decorated (although a bit busy for our liking) it was TINY! And the bathroom even smaller! Not a room really more like a closet. We could hardly move as once in the room with our cases the only way round was to use the bed to get from one side to the other. We saw no-one else all evening. Then breakfast and at last a real person there who seemed very friendly. However breakfast is a set menu. And because it was already cooked we didn’t feel like we could ask for anything else. So juice, tea or coffee followed by fruit and yogurt followed by scrambled eggs, warm ham and avocado on toast these last 3 all on the same plate. It would have been so much nicer to help ourselves. Toast, croissants, jam, muffins were all that were required but sadly not to be.
So to the owner - please change your beautiful hotel into something much more visitor friendly. The welcome was none existent - it would have been so nice to have been greeted by a human and would have made all the difference!

clean, pretty, comfortable
wish there were more walkable areas but that has nothing to do with in itself

The room was very small. It was on the second floor and very steep stairs. The staff helped with our luggage but it was a trek u and down.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding.

location, amenities (bicycles, kayaks, backyard….), adorable room, and insanely cozy bedsheets (!!)
shower stall in our room is very small- SO small. I think that’s just the room we stayed in though.

Very relaxing environment. Great base camp!
Close to beach, free bikes, great breakfast!
Road traffic noise...but was too relaxed to care.

Loved our stay, great breakfast, fantastic paddle up the river and easy stroll to the beach and nearby restaurants.
Road was a little noisy, but if you are a light sleeper just ask to the have a room on the other side, didn’t bother us though, slept really well

The breakfasts were outstanding. I really looked forward to it. I loved the atmosphere and charm of the Inn. The owners are very pleasant and the chef was very professional and polite.

Breakfast was delicious (though the portions were perhaps a little too much), Meri was a delight to chat with, the grounds of the Inn are lovely, and the location was very convenient for us.
My one suggestion would be added lighting in the bathroom (we were in the Duck room). The one light fixture which is in the shower just does not do an adequate job illuminating the space.

Good location and very nice breakfast. Nice looking interior and the breakfast area was very pretty. They provided bikes and kayaks for use of the guests. The back of property has a boat dock on a wide stream.
We were in a dog friendly room (without a dog) and it was separate from the main house with an outside entrance. We would have preferred to be in the main house but maybe it was not available when we booked.
