About this house rental
This lovely home is furnished with the intrinsic beauty of water color - from the greys of the Atlantic visible from our front yard, to the shimmering blue sparkles from the backyard pool by day, or dazzling LED colors at night. Décor in each room is subtle and relaxing, with grays, greens, and blues throughout. The signature touch inside the house is the growing collection of watercolor paintings by artists including Alan Casey, and others. Most of the art was painted on the island by artists who loved Saint Simons Island, and the collection continues to grow.

This house has a great location. We have stayed in homes directly on the beach that have had a longer walk to the water. It is literally around the corner to the beach. The house is quaint but with plenty of room. We loved the old school charm and renovations.

Enjoyed the location and of course the pool. Parking a little tight but that is not the fault of the owner, as the home was not built to be a vrbo back in the day. They did make parking spots off of Ocean Blvd so that helps.

Get location. Cute house with some updates here and there but a little rickety. A little pricey for what you get. Master bedroom bed too loud to sleep on comfortably. The extra cost to heat the pool was pricy and pool wasn’t heated, but just one single day (check in being on Wednesday and check out on Sunday). Overall okay cute place close to town.

The location is perfect, it’s 1 block to the beach, and you can walk to a lot of restaurants (Crab Trap, Fiddler’s, Barrier Brewing, etc, or in the opposite direction down to the village). We walked to dinner every night, and to the lighthouse in the morning.
The house has a storage shed in the back with a wagon and a few beach chairs which was extremely accommodating and made the walk to the beach very easy. The house also had a few baby and kid essentials, including a little baby lounge chair and a washer and dryer. We really enjoyed the backyard, it was great for kids after a day at the beach; we would pack up and go back to the house to swim for a couple of hours before dinner. There’s also an outdoor table that we used for meals. The pool has plenty of shade. Overall, the house had everything we needed, plenty of space, and we really enjoyed our stay.
My recommendations for packing would be to include hand soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, beach towels and toilet paper. Although most of these items are provided, we had a big group so we needed extra quantities of these items.
5 out of 5 stars!! We will definitely book this house again in the future!!

The week away was just what we needed. Our favorite part of the house was the pool- so nice to have that as we came back from the beach every day. The space was perfect for the five of us and we were pleased with the short walking distance to the beach.

My family and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful beach house. It had so much charm and was in the perfect location to walk to beach and the village. We loved the pool and the outdoor area was perfect for grilling and just gathering around the tv. The proximity to the beach allowed for multiple trips a day for shell hunting.

Kitchen was well stocked, property is larger than photos display. This is a darling home.

The house was not as nice as the photos online. It also had a very distinct moldy smell.

Great house. Very comfy. Pool is great after day at beach. Easy 100 yard walk to beach.

The location close to the beach was awesome. The pool was great, especially for the kids! The issues were pictures were not accurate to what the inside really was like! Bathroom situation was not good for 3 families, not enough bath towels for 10 people and kitchen could have been much better equipped for cooking.

Was not what I was expecting it was a much older house! But everything worked fine! I thought it was pricy for the age of the house! We did have a wonderful vacation

Beach Glimpses
Overall our stay was pleasant. We did have a problem with TV reception which we were told had been occurring prior that was not addressed when we talked to manager on Thursday. Also we lost hot water on Saturday not finding out till after we returned from Ga Fla game so were not able to take showers Saturday night or Sunday morning. This was embarrassing to me since I acquired the rental for fiends and family.

Love this beach cottage :)
Well maintained and just a short walk to the beach. Plenty of space for our family. Having a pool is a bonus! This was our second year to stay at Watercolor.

Rustic Perfection
We had such a great stay! The proximity to beach access was fantastic, and being able to walk to many shops/restaurants. We really appreciated that it was pet friendly, as our dog had the time of his life at the beach and the private pool! The mattress in the master bedroom was the best mattress we had experienced on vacation! Having a tv outside and an outdoor shower with warm water were great perks. Loved the lights in the pool at night and having the pool heated made it perfect. Also, next time we don’t even need to bring beach chairs because the ones in the shed were great! The house isn’t “fancy” but it’s cozy & rustic, has all the necessities, this is all about location!

This place is a well loved beach cottage. She shows her age but in a funky and fun way. The location is great and the second story balcony provide lovely views of the ocean and sunset over the trees. The master if large and the attached bath quite nice. The pool (we requested heated) was very warm so that we could use it, even in the days in the 60's! Plus, a nice man came by to check on the pool. Plenty of deck chairs for lower and upper. The USB hubs placed around the cottage were very helpful. We had a major issue at check in (HVAC heat was locked out by the owner). I called and left several messages with the property manager (even on the emergency line) but no one called until the morning. We spent the first night in a very cold (57*) cottage. The fireplace does not function so we had no heat source until 9 am the next day. The place needs some more daily use items. No bath mats, only one kitchen towel and no wash clothes, hangers (6 in entire house), no garage bins other than the one in the kitchen. The management company did provide bath mats and two garbage cans upon request. The house was definitely sunny which was lovely. However, the drapes are so see through that they don't block any light (sun will wake you up) or provide privacy in the evening. I would also suggest a night stand next to both sides of the queen upstairs as well as a curtain to replace the missing closet door in the twin bed room. The kitchen cabinet doors should also be out back on.

Cottage close to Beach
We had a really good time and had all the amenities we could hope for. Beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped, location was one house row away from the beach, and close proximity to the small town and long long beach walks.

New Year in St Simon
My siblings plus spouses look for a vacation spot each year. This was a great place to visit and the house was perfect. The house is steps from a beautiful beach, has an excellent pool (we had it heated and it was really nice!!) and plenty of room. As a group of adults it was nice to find a house with well stocked full baths. the kitchen had the basics with some extras. The location was .6 mile to the pier. We used a golf cart, but it was an easy walk or bike ride. I would highly recommend this property to a family or group.

Thanksgiving at the beach!
Older house but very cute and clean. Great master bedroom and great location! We did have an issue with the air conditioning; however, someone came to repair it on Thanksgiving afternoon. I was impressed. We couldn’t locate any dish towels or pot holders but we improvised. I assume it was a “housekeeping” issue. I would definitely stay there again; it slept 8 comfortably Thank You for sharing your lovely home.

Convenient and nice!
The beach house was as described with all of the advertised amenities: the private pool, across the street from the beach, pet friendly, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. We could tell the property was freshly cleaned as the bathrooms still smelled of bleach when we checked in. We definitely enjoyed the patio area where we had our breakfast outside, and the pool had some much needed shade in the early morning and afternoon from a tree in the back yard. Pool was clean and well-maintained and was enjoyed by everyone in the family.

Great Family Stay
We had a great time staying at Watercolors. The location was great for the beach! The pool was wonderful and had a lot of shade during the day which was great for the kids.

Nice stay, but lots of little things need addressed
We enjoyed our stay, but feel there were several things not up to par. No instructions for fireplace, heater or lock, no hooks in baths, no bath mats, shower head in downstairs bath needs cleaned, bedroom doors are not really doors and don't work - knob broke first time I tried to close, the pool was full of leaves when we arrived, lawn furniture filthy and the shed in the back is also full of leaves and whatever?, house and all needs a good pressure washing (including gutter that is growing things), all bedrooms should have lamps, the freezer does not open well and rack does not slide well, need more kitchen towels and washclothsths, string of lights over table outside needs several bulbs, dining room lamp flickers off and on, beach chairs not in the best shape.

St simons
Beautiful older beach house in the perfect location one row back. Super short walk to the beach just across the street and around one driveway and around a quarter mile to town makes everything walkable which is what we did once we parked at the property we walked everywhere. Backyard/pool area was wonderful and in warmer weather would have been a great place to swim and sun but was a great place for afternoon drinks in the chillier December weather. Only drawback is a small kitchen/cooking space so if you are bringing folks who like to cook together and hang in the kitchen it is a tight space. Other than that perfect for us. One small issue but the property manager was super responsive and got right on it.

Close to easy beach access and a pool!
Comfortable rental and a great location! Very short walk to beach with easy access. One of our party has mobility issues but getting on the beach was no problem. Beautiful, clean pool. Property is well equipped and property manager was responsive and most helpful with a few minor issues and the property owner followed up. Close proximity to the village and pier area. Relaxing & Enjoyable!

Family Vacation 2019
My family loved our vacation on Saint Simon’s Island. Watercolor’s location was very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The house had a great beach cottage look and was large enough for my family. The pool was a good size for all ages. I highly recommend Watercolor!

Loved Watercolor!
We will definitely return to Watercolor soon! From the location a few steps from the beach to the convenience of having a private pool at the back door, this cottage was a great place to relax and unwind. We loved the charm of this house built in the 1930s, and appreciated the modern conveniences you have added.
This is the kind of place where one could easily retreat and write a book, or bring the family and friends to make a bunch of beachy moments. (We rode bicycles until the dark finally forced us home, chased crabs on the beach, ate our meals by the pool – fun stuff.)
The customer service was prompt and personal. You made us feel like guests in your home and you wanted us to have a good time.
SSI was such an inviting setting. It has become our “happy place” and holds many sweet memories for us. We will be back to Watercolor often.

Charming, comfortable beach home in great location
We found Watercolor to be even better than we expected. Our top priorities for a beach rental include proximity to the beach, comfortable beds, cleanliness, and good air conditioning. Watercolor had all of those things, and was also extremely charming, beautifully decorated, and close to the village. The house is definitely historic, but everything is up to date, so it's the perfect mix. We were all easily able to ride our bikes to restaurants and down to the pier and Neptune Park. Our 7 year old enjoyed riding over to Moo Cow Ice Cream (which we did multiple times). The beach access was right near the house, and the beach was not crowded at all. The kids loved the pool and the bunk beds! The owners are so pleasant and easy to work with. We are looking forward to returning to Watercolor again!
