We had a great stay at the cottage! My husband and daughter kept telling me what an awesome job I did picking it out LOL! It was quiet, the perfect size for our family, and the perfect place for us to relax after long days of competitive dance and/or sightseeing. Only wish we had more time there. Earl Grey was a wonderful host as well 😻! Thanks for having us and if we’re ever that way in the future, we would not hesitate to stay again.

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at the cottage for three nights. It was perfect for our family. The check in and checkout process were easy with good communication from the host. The property is so peaceful, beautiful, and quiet. The house was exceptionally clean and all of the linens and bedding smelled wonderful and were very comfortable. The back patio and yard are very secluded and private. We enjoyed having our coffee on the screened in porch every morning. The house truly felt like a home away from home. We have family in the area so we will definitely be re-booking the next time we are in Summerville! Also, we fell in love with Earl Grey!

Best one so far! Very cute, old southern and clean. Communication if I had any questions was great. Only thing, parking wasn't great. I have a truck, so it was hard to fit but they didn't have cars like now a days when they built the house lol

This property is nestled on a quiet lane next to a historic home. It was the perfect setting to relax in; a peaceful environment after a busy day exploring the area. It provided all of the things we needed as a family to feel comfortable. The property manager was very helpful with questions. The host was a wonderful guide when she provided a tour of the historic home and gardens.

We had a fantastic time at The Bungalow, it was very comfortable, private and within fabulous gardens. Linda was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable creating a relaxing atmosphere, contributing so much to our fabulous holiday.
Summerville is not only a lovely town itself but within an easy 30 minute drive to most local attractions including Charleston. We would have no hesitation in returning, we had such a lovely time there.

We had a great stay at the Bungalow! The place was clean, comfortable and quiet! Earl Gray the cat gave us a tour of the beautiful gardens. Check in was easy and communication was great! The Bungalow was better than staying in a hotel. We had an easy walk to downtown Summerville.

The host was very responsive, answering any questions we had. When the AC wasn't working initially, they had a service tech come out quickly while we were out to dinner and got it resolved before we returned.
The living spaces, kitchen, and bedrooms made it a much more comfortable stay than a standard hotel room.
The gardens were nice surrounding the area, and the girls enjoyed the playground across the street.

Peaceful
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful home with absolutely beautiful gardens. I enjoyed quiet mornings on the screened in porch. We were not far from Charleston, beaches, restaurants, and plantations. So much to do and see all within a short drive. Enjoyed daily visits from Earl Grey!! We would definitely stay here again.

From the moment we arrived we fell in love. The kids didnt want to leave "our new house." They absolutely love being escorted to the door upon arrival frm Earl Gray. Such a beautiful house and overall property. Linda was always grest with communication and even stayed up to text us welcome home when we go back. Wonderful, quiet, and peaceful vacation. We plan to go back again. Highly recommend!

Perfect trip
My husband and I were in Summerville in hopes of relocating there after retirement. Staying in the bungalow for an extended time gave us the time and space to do so. Peter and Linda are very gracious hosts and allow you your privacy. I loved the screened porch. They have everything that you need. We arrived late due to an airline change. Owners left the lights on, had a welcoming note, plus coffee and breakfast bread for the morning.
We may need to visit again in the fall and would definitely love to stay in the bungalow again.

The bungalow is a great place!
We stayed at the bungalow from the 12th of June to the 19th. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and relaxed! Linda is an amazing owner! The only problem we had (which i'm actually blaming vrbo for) was that we thought both bedrooms had queen beds but its turned out that the second bedroom had 2 twin/single beds. Vrbo had it listed as master bedroom queen and bedroom 1 as a queen and twin/single which was not the case. Linda promptly remedied the situation and apologized for the confusion! Thanks again Linda! Side note: if you are into history and historic homes ask to take a tour of the main house. You won't be disappointed! We definitely will keep the Linwood estate and they Bungalow in our book of places to stay again!

Excellent Stay!
This was a perfect place for our get away. The property and amenities were excellent and beautiful. The pictures were spot on, if anything they did not do it justice. The location was perfect. You could walk to town, a beautiful little town, for plenty of restaurant choices and even Axe throwing. Day trips were Charleston, 30 minutes away and Savannah, about an hour away. Plenty of golf courses to chose from. I could go on, but will not. I am looking at returning with three other couples to share the experience. Excellent Excellent Stay

Southern Charm
From the minute we walked into the bungalow we were struck by its southern charm. Peter and Linda are wonderful hosts who had a fresh flower arrangement, a small bag of fresh ground local coffee and homemade fruit bread on the kitchen island to greet us. The bungalow was tastefully furnished and the gardens on the estate were beautiful. We felt at home walking the grounds nightly. The bungalow is just a short distance from town and we enjoyed walking to the square daily. We had a lovely week exploring Summerville and Charleston.

What a wonderful stay in the Bungalow on the grounds of The Linwood Inn. Upon arriving we found a welcoming calligraphy written note from the Innkeeper Linda. Everything you might need and then some is supplied in the bungalow, all the way down to a first aid kit! We thoroughly enjoyed the screened in porch for breakfast and lunch. The pictures online were exactly the way everything looked. What it didn’t reflect was the charm of the bungalow with Linda’s touches of decor gave us the feeling of going back in time. The Inn’s cat “Earl Grey” was a pleasant surprise with his daily rounds on the grounds. You can feel the love that Linda and her Husband have put into the gardens and property. This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. Downtown Summerville had cute shops and we enjoyed several visits there and ate a lot of our meal local. We would highly recommend you to book this property. It’s just a short 30 minute drive to Charleston.

Family Visit
Linda was a great host and the property was absolutely beautiful! We fell in love with the resident cat “Earl Gray”. Close to shops, which we walked to daily, but hidden away which gave the feel of seclusion. Will definitely be back ❤️❤️

Relaxation at Linwood
The Linwood cottage was awesome and pretty much had everything you needed. The gardens and grounds are maintained and fun to explore. Linda was super gracious host. We spent time at the saltwater pool several days during our visit. From the property, you're super close to the cute Summerville historic downtown area. You can also access big box stores, groceries, and restaurants less than 10 to 15 minutes away. You're also only 30 minutes from Charleston!! We so enjoyed our relaxing stay and look forward to coming back to Linwood in the future.

Beautiful Bungalow and Gardens
The Bungalow at Linwood Estate offers a perfect mix of comfort and charm. We especially enjoyed the lush and well maintained gardening around the unit and throughout the property and spent a lot of time enjoying the privacy and beauty of the screened-in porch in the back. It was so appealing that even our teenage boys joined us for long stretches out there playing games, eating and just talking; with YouTube/XBox/Netflix competing for their attention, that is notable. The location in Summerville is incredibly convenient with every conceivable restaurant chain and major retailer within 4 to 20 minutes. (We hit Dunkin Donuts, Chick-Fil-A, and Target several times—all about 5 minutes or less from the unit.) The owner was very attentive and friendly and gave us great advice about places to visit. One such suggestion was Kiawah Beach. About an hour away, it was a beautiful drive to a very nice public beach with great amenities including a new boardwalk to beach, snack & beach supply shop, clean restrooms and changing area and a semi-shaded parking lot. I was really happy with the find before we arrived and our week-long stay fully met and exceeded my expectations. We will definitely return to The Bungalow at Linwood Estate in Summerville, South Carolina!

We loved staying at this pretty little cottage in the midst of a beautiful garden. Summerville was a great surprise; we came for Charleston and touring and we’re thrilled with just being in Summerville. I definitely recommend a stay here.

Fabulous house in a great area for exploring and learning about the history of South Carolina. Couldn't have asked for more from Linda. Would certainly stay there again if in in the area. Thank you.

Both modern and historic!
We absolutely love this property! Set back and away from the busy areas of Summerville, it is lovely and quiet on the outside - including the pool area. Inside it is charming and quaint but with all of the modern amenities for which you could hope - updated bathrooms, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and great air conditioning for Summerville heat! Close to every kind of shopping and a short drive to historic Charleston, we would definitely stay with Linda again!

Outstanding in every way
We had a wonderful trip to Summerville, and it was made possible by staying at the Bungalow at Linwood. It was the ideal setting from a busy day of touring. One couldn't ask for a more gracious host than Linda Shelbourne. The Bungalow is a well balanced mix of traditional decor and modern furnishings. It is a quiet oasis away from the bustle of a growing Summerville. We had full access to all the grounds on the estate, including the pool.

Perfect get-away place or launch pad for adventure!
My mom and I came to South Carolina from the northwest to experience southern hospitality. Linwood was exactly what we were hoping for. We were welcomed before we even arrived, and once we got to the Bungalow we were greeted with fresh made bread and a personal note. We had complete privacy, but knew that anything we needed was only a text away.
The amenities at The Bungalow were just right. All we needed was right there. Everything was clean and comfortable. We were able to get a tour of Linwood Estate learning its history and a bit about the current owners. Our week when we stayed in or went out exploring Summerville, and Charleston was just perfect. We would love to come back to stay again and continue exploring.

The Perfect Southern Getaway
We absolutely loved our time staying in Summerville at the Linwood Inn's self-catering Bungalow. Summerville is the type of town that one imagines whenever reading a story based in the old-time South. This historic estate is a true masterpiece in classic gardening. Glad we didn't know how beautiful the estate was before we went because it was a wonderful surprise. What an excellent alternative to the city atmosphere of Charleston and the low country's flat landscape. Cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay. The Bungalow has everything you possibly need for the perfect stay.. The grounds are well protected with the adorable Earl-Grey, the resident estate cat. For those looking for a retreat from the modern world but with all its amenities, the Linwood is definitely the best choice.
