We really enjoyed our stay. This was the first time my friends had been to inner Mexico so everything was new to them. I lived there for 10 years so I knew my way around. We were close to many good restaurants and the malecon.

Great location, beautiful back yard and nice house but needs some updates. Due to it being rainy season and the house being open air, it smelt like mold in the house. Power washing the back area might have helped or maybe putting in some plug in air fresheners. Emailed property manager on VRBO website letting him know where we had to return the garage door opener due to having wrong code to gate door and didn't get a response when I asked for him to confirm he got it. I think it should be optional for quests to have maid service come in during their stay or not. It was really awkward having the maid there twice for four hours at a time during our one week stay. Pool could use some tending to but other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location! A block from the lake. The garden and patio are amazing. Great communication all the way through

This is our second time to stay in this home. It is spacious and the backyard is sooo beautiful. This location is the best. Residential feel, but just one street over to Malecon and a short walk to the main section of town. Owner was always available for any questions and Prop Mgr. always answered promptly. We keep choosing this property as it is such a special place to relax. Pool cover keeps water just the right temp. This place will forever be our Ajijic go to. You can’t go wrong here!

We understand that our stay in September was during the rainy season so the humidity was high and mosquitos were abundant. The home felt safe, the wifi was good and the location worked well for walking Ajijic. There is a small AC unit in the master bedroom which worked well but there is little airflow to the rest of the house so we had to purchase a pedestal fan and moved it around with us. There is some screening with the patio doors but no screens on the front door so no good access for a breeze. We decided to take drinks to the mirador but it was just nasty with nothing we wanted to sit on. Carpets don't really get cleaned they get swept so we took the the smaller ones outside and shook them as there was plenty residue from previous renters.
The showers were a big dissapointment. There were 3 to chose from: The master was cramped with very little water flow and it did not drain well. The tile shower offered more room and better flow until you tried to get hot water then the flow went to a dribble as the single control handle was broken. The third was in a bathtub and offered equally disappointing flow. All three shower heads were damaged.
I pulled the insulation off the pool and saw it was pretty dirty. I stuck my arm in it and the top 4 inches of water was warm and the rest was colder. I checked it 3 more times during the day with the same result - This means the water was stagnant with no circulation, we never used it for that reason.
So, no mirador, no pool, no airflow, no showers to speak of, the house is old and smells like it to the point we didn't put our clothes in the walk-in closets, not the experience we were hoping for.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. Gardens were so beautiful and outdoor lounge spaces were great for siestas. Home is very nicely appointed with interesting artwork throughout. Location was ideal as a short walking distance to everything: Malecon, Plaza, restaurants. Streets are cobblestone so be prepared with footwear. Wish we would have stayed longer. Owners were very communicative throughout and we thank them for sharing their home with us. You will not be disappointed.

We lived in Ajijic at one time and knew this area and what to expect for the most part. The house was much better than the photos suggested and was perfect for our needs. Lot's of outdoor living space which is wonderful this time of year and pretty much all year. We were able to walk to our favorite dining places or drive there easy. Would certainly stay here again. Schedule a 1/2 day to just look at the interesting collections in the house alone!

Ajijic is great... friendly people, places to walk, good drinks & food, loved being in a prime location close to plaza & lake, spacious house.

Unfortunately there are lots of cobblestone streets and sidewalk. Several people have fallen or twisted an ankle.
After you get into the walled property you get to appreciate a wonderful garden setting.
We enjoyed our stay despite it being in the high 30's and low 40's at night for about a week.
I'd recommend the villa.
FYI: A really nice challenging golf course is a 35 min drive from the villa, Atlas CC.
All my best,
Wedge

Property is as described, and it was a pleasure to stay there. Everything went smoothly. My wife and her brother, and two guests, especially enjoyed the pool. Nice and private and quiet. Casita is great. Easy walk to lots of nice things to do and see and eat. No problems. All went smoothly.

Well-maintained, artistic property with loads of Mexican charm. Easy walk to the malecon and the many fun shops and restaurants in Ajijic. The pool, gardens and fountain were a treat; we spent most of out time at the house outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Victor, the property manager, was a pleasure to work with.

What a house !!! Hacienda style house with lots of character, a beautiful garden, courtyard and outdoor covered terraces. Pool was refreshing, but the entire place just made you relax. Close to everything in old Ajijic, but still relatively quiet.

This property was very convenient to town, stores and restaurants. The kitchen had everything imaginable you could need for cooking. The house itself was very spacious and accommodating.

Not sure what to expect when we arrived, but when Victor was showing us around, the house kept going and going! Much bigger than expected, and the pictures don't do it justice. For part of the time, we had 2 friends in the Casita, and there was plenty of room. Most of our time was in outdoor living area, but the TV works well when we just needed a hit of English. Would LOVE to come back!

Close to the malecon for lake view. Walking distance to downtown and many great restaurants. Beautiful house.

Absolutely loved this house. Beautiful furnishings and lovely art work. Odd layout but very doable. We spent most of our time outside. The outside area is very comfortable with lots of seating and dining options. The built in grill was nice. The pool is heated with a solar cover and was a perfect temperature. I wish I had brought a float! The yard was very private with beautiful bougainvillea lining the fence and the tallest cypress trees (pencil pines) I’ve ever seen. The front entrance with the double entrance and pull through driveway was really nice. The location was perfect, located on a very quiet street, two blocks from the Malecon, perfect for a morning stroll.
The kitchen was very well stocked. It had a 6 burner stove with a griddle, oven, microwave, separate convection oven and a toaster oven. Blender, food processor, coffee maker, nice new dishwasher, plus lots more. A very eclectic mix of cooking utensils and sharp knives with sharpeners. Everything we needed!
The owner and manager of the house were very helpful but we really didn’t need them because of the very detailed instruction book.
I would stay here again!!

This is a charming house in an excellent location, walkable to everything. The property is beautiful with fruit trees, palms, orchids, and roses. The description of the property is accurate and the property is clean and well maintained. The owner was great to deal with. We would definitely recommend this property as the place to stay in Ajijic. Don't miss the Wednesday tianguis (farmers market). Try M & J Pizza at Donato Guerra #17. Fun atmosphere & great pizza.

Just completed a wonderful two month vacation at this spacious and delightful compound/hacienda in Ajijic. Enjoyed its great indoor-outdoor layout, wonderful use of color, amazing eclectic decor, comfortable furniture, beautiful grounds, and a great location close to all that Ajijic has to offer.
This was such a heartwarming home to be in. Especially appreciated the wonderful artifacts that were abundantly displayed throughout, adding so much to its unique Mexican flavor. For those who love to cook, you'll find the kitchen supplied with every utensil you could possibly need. However, if you'd rather not cook, like me, there are plenty of fine restaurants within walking distance.

The Home--Perfect. We felt at home the minute we walked in the door; the artwork, the furniture, the bedrooms and bathrooms all give the feel of a very welcoming place to spend a relaxing visit in Ajijic. The kitchen has any and every culinary instrument you could ever want or need for meal preparation. And, the patio and gardens are unbelievable! Once again, the furniture, the artwork, the plants and fountains are very relaxing and accommodating.
The Location--Perfect. Located on a quiet street about 1/2 block from the lake and just a couple of blocks from the center of Ajijic, we never felt the need for a car; our strolls about town became part of our daily ritual.
The Owner--Perfect. Randy was in constant communication with us from the time we expressed interest in the property, throughout our stay and even after our return. No question went unanswered, no request unmet.
In short, if you are looking for a perfect property for a visit to Ajijic, look no further, you've found it.

This home is lovely. The house is perfectly decorated in Mexican style. It is spacious with beautiful gardens and a small pool. The main house has several bedrooms and baths all well appointed with areas for privacy and entertaining. The kitchen is large and easy to work in complete with all needed appliances. Out the kitchen door (check out the mural!)is a staircase that leads to a new mirador (roof deck for you gringos) with views of Lake Chappala. The living room is very large with doors and windows opening to the well kept grounds. The outdoor space oustide the living room is U-shaped and covered to allow for ample seating and entertaining any weather. Its beautiful. There is also a small casita guest house that is very private and has access to a private entrance. Nicely furnished as well.
The house is located right in town one block from the lake allowing for close access to shops and restaurants. Try Adelitas for good food and great music. Or a walk on the malecon. The house is secluded and very safe but there is no need to worry in Ajijic.
Id give this place 10 stars............but I cant.

Most pleasant and easy time communicating with the owner. The description is very accurate. The staff are wonderful and hardworking. The property manager is delightful and very informative.
Our stay was heavenly. I have a very equipped kitchen at home and never felt I was missing anything. Even knives were sharp - but still a sharpener was there in case.
The pool is dreamy. Perfect size. The grounds are exotic. The furnishings complement the home, so you are always comfortable. Inside and outside have many options for dining and relaxing.
There is a very nice grill for outdoor cooking. We dined on fabulous steak one night and another we prepared a whole fresh fish.
The casita is private and most comfortable for one or two persons.
There are enough bathrooms with dressing areas that each person could take up one and call it their own!
The town and stores are very nearby. Remember, this is Mexico and part of the charm includes cobblestone streets, clip-clopping horses, roosters and sometimes a parade with fireworks and marching bands.
So do be careful as you stroll around. So much to see, but be sure you watch your step. The Malecon is expansive and easy walking only a couple of blocks away.
Also included in the charm: beautiful sunsets, friendly people, bustling markets, excellent restaurants, happy bars! You will be made to feel at home. The saying goes "my house is your house" in Mexico and I think the owners and the town live by that kind phrase.
We will be back!
PS. We spent a fun day with 'Abuelinda' touring through the market and meeting her friends and favorite vendors. You will learn so much about various local foods and culture. We prepared the most delicious green mole. She is so sweet and her class cost was more than reasonable. ([email protected])

This was our first time in Ajijic during the summer rainy season. After years of drought and an occasional cold winter rain here in California, we really enjoyed the weather. The house was clean and everything worked. Hector the property manager shuttled us to and from the airport. The maid Maria was nice and friendly. She doesn't speak English but it was a good time to practice my Spanish. The other couple couldn't come with us so we had plenty of room. The master bedroom is air-conditioned but the fans were enough to keep us cool. We needed a light blanket at night. It really does rain at night in Ajijic. Great displays of thunder and lightning, too. We only used our rain gear once to go out for lunch. The sun was out again when we left the restaurant. Speaking of restaurants we really enjoyed a new place called Cocinart. Great Eggs Benedict and the best Reuben sandwich I've had outside of New York. Gossips was also excellent. The other new restaurant we tried was Pasta Trenta. My wife had a pasta dish with prosciutto and apples. I had a pesto pasta dish. Both were excellent. I tried a beer called AJIJIC. It was a stout and was excellent. Made locally. It seems the craft brewers are branching out. We tried to rent a golf cart to drive around the village but there was a 10 day waiting list. Will rent in advance next time. There is a liquor store on the Carretera just north of the property. W discovered Chamucos Anejo tequila which is smooth but doesn't have any oakey after taste. Iit's not available in the United States so it was a real treat. My wife retires at the end of the year and we are looking forward to spending more time at Randi's beautiful villa in Ajijic.
