Exceptional. Great location, free car parking available.

Worth its money U have live music on weekends, band performances and live telecast of cricket matches. Accessible through transport even though it is at upper dharamkot.

Needs to have a common area for activities.

The service at Alt life is spot on, the managers are very professional and the whole property is very well built and managed, and the Cafe is simply amazing, this is the best hostel in DHARMKOT , no doubt about it.

Superb

Very friendly staff, nice location, we stayed in the cottage which was clean and well equipped. Nothing to complain.

There is life music, which is nice, but a a little too loud sometimes. However the music ends at around 10 - 10:30pm, so no problem unless you want to go to bed really early.

A really beautiful hostel!

The hostel is absolutely beautifull! The staff is very kind and friendly. They were so helpful and made us feel really welcome. The location is lovely and situated in a peaceful neighbourhood with a good selection of small shops, cafes and restaurants. The hostel had really great live music concerts on all the nights we were there, which was amazing!

Good choice to stay in Mcleodganj

Staffs are friendly. Room decoration is charming and comfy. Love environment and weather here. There are a lot of activities around the place in short and long walking distance for you to explore e.g. traking to Triund, shopping at Tibet market, yoga, meditation, sound healing. Recommended !

Very overpriced although fairly decent

Good location. Large room. Reasonably quiet most of the time. Cappucino and hot chips were good (when the power was working). Staff friendly.

Booking said heating would be provided but had to ask (beg) for a heater - for which they were going to charge us extra - and when we got one it only provided a small amount of warmth. Frequent blackouts on cold days/nights were very unpleasant (and no hot water during blackouts). Shower had no door, so was a damp mess. Exchanged broken tea kettles twice before we got one that worked properly. Booking was way overpriced for the service and facilities provided compared to neighbouring properties. Fresh towels had to be requested every few days (not automatically provided). Staff very young and friendly yet were slow to respond to most request (need more open and responsive communication to resolve issues).

Perfect location, staff and service. Missed the night life since I came here on the weekdays

The food and beverages were tasty and portion sizes were hearty.

The mattress in the dorm were uncomfortable. Also toilet supplies like towels etc were not provided.

Good stay for a solo trip

Nice quiet place but a bit far from the main area, place only for people who are looking for a quiet place and restaurants of dharamkot are also a bit far away Overall we had a good time

Their co working area is not really a working place, difficult to concentrate due to music, went in off season and it seemed like the staff holidaying during that time...service to room is slow, food is ok, no consistency, one time u will get a big mug of hot chocolate, next may be a bit tiny....but still good..could be their chef are also on holidays

The staff (Manish particularly) is a thief. The owner Nitish is nothing short of an accomplice. I forgot my fanny pack (with my purse, power Bank etc in it) after having lunch on the table, came back 30 minutes later and it was gone. There was no one in the cafe except Manish for that entire period. I asked the owner Nitish to check the cameras and share the recording for days after the incident but he did not. Finally, I just gave up on his incompetence. I would have filed an FIR if only I was not leaving Dharamkot right after that lunch. Thumbs down to alt life👎👎

Unbeatable views

One of the best hostels I've stayed at! Great location for hikes, walks, and adventure with incredible views on the property. The staff was super friendly with a great atmosphere created by the team there. Have nothing wrong to say and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Special thanks to Rakesh, Sandeep, Nanak, Manish, Ricky, Ranjeeth & Rihabh for their warm hospitality.

The vibe and location is good. Dharamkot itself is a better place to stay as compared to mcleodganj. It is one of the best stay in Dharamkot. The staff is professional and well behaved. Clean rooms.

Everything was great!

Food was delicious but options were very limited and availability was very strictly time bound which is a real problem in the mountains because there was no other option nearby. The authorities did not consider that and refused to serve any food after 10pm

Pleasant

Beautifully located. Lovely place but the people who stay in dormitories should be mindful of the fact that others are also staying with them and can try and keep the rooms clean. It's not a private room but being shared by 5 other people also.

In spite of strict no pets policy in the dormitories these people allowed some guests with their pet without taking the consent from fellow dorm members. When I asked at the reception about the same since i wasn't there in my room when the pet was allowed, the guy at the reception said," I hope the pet is not troublesome". At the common area a saw guy drinking alcohol when everywhere it was mentioned no liquor allowed. This shows unprofessionalism. They need to follow their policies strictly!!
