Beautiful OCEANFRONT FOUR BEDROOM house is perfect location to host memories for a lifetime. Nestled on a premium stretch of beach dotted with private homes, this three story gem has fantastic views from both upper and lower decks.

Perfect location for an EXTENDED WINTER VACATION, Contact us for special rates for rentals for 2 or more weeks.

Bottom floor has double enclosed garage and entry. First floor has open living and kitchen area with wall of windows looking out on sparkling waters. First floor access to the kitchen and living area is a feature MANY oceanfront homes don't offer. You don't realize how nice it is until you don't have to walk up three flights of stairs every time you go from the beach to the living area. The upper floor has 4 bedrooms, 3 of which are oceanfront. Bedroom doors open to expansive deck that has 180 degree view of Atlantic. Free Wi-Fi throughout..

For infants, a pack-and-play, and a high chair are available to use. Bed linen and towels are not provided. Rental options on the island are available.

See the sunrise from your pillow. Watch for the pods of dolphin that run in the early morning and late afternoon. Fresh seafood can be purchased on a daily basis from the local fishermen who bring their hauls in and sell them at the market 3 miles away. Walk for miles in either direction on the beach. Look for prehistoric sharks' teeth and shells. The sound is just a walk away and provides amazing sunset panoramas.

The towns of Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington( international airport) are less than an hour away.

The only drawback to this house is that you'll never want to leave.

This was our 3rd stay at Escape Hatch and we have truly enjoyed each visit! Paul is a great host and his vacation home is absolutely wonderful! We love the layout of the house - it is very spacious and comfortable. Having the living area on the first floor is definitely a plus and the views of the ocean from both the living area and the upstairs bedrooms are amazing! We enjoy using both decks and being only steps from the beach is simply fantastic (especially with toddlers)! Our family beach trips to Escape Hatch has become one of our favorite weeks of the year and we are very grateful to the Graupners for making it available!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Escape Hatch. We go for the effects of the surf & star gazing, so the fact that the neighbor's security light to the east shines too luch on Escape Hatches back deck put a damper on that but we enjoy the house and the area.

Absolutely love the location of this property. Paul is a great host and I'm constant contact during the impending storm. He have is all the information and checked on us frequently. Luckily we were barely impacted and had another wonderful family vacation.

The location was fantastic! 1 flight of stairs to the beach. We have never been this close! We loved the spacious area by the sliding door. Plenty of space to beach bags and belongings. Kitchen had everything you needed ie containers silverware cups dishes etc. The layout is great having a bathroom on the main level and the laundry room! We enjoyed sitting on the decks and hearing the ocean! Plan on staying again!

What a treat to have an entire house! Kitchen and living space on first floor makes all the difference. Loved having 3 of the 4 bedrooms ocean facing! Leaning towards booking this one again.

The beach and the access to the beach cant be beat. But the house could definitely use updating, the freezer leaked water every time we opened it, the kitchen pans we very used and hard to cook in. It is a beautiful house with amazing host, just needs a little tlc.

Our family group had a wonderful time at Escape Hatch. The layout makes excellent use of all space and it is quite comfortable. Being right on the beach is so much fun! We appreciate all the beach and kitchen equipment available for guests. Some is getting past its prime, but there’s plenty to choose from. We will definitely return if we can!

Our family spent 4 nights and 3 days at Escape Hatch. We found the property to be just as described. The home was clean and the kitchen was well appointed with every gadget a cook could imagine. The beach is literally steps away and there are plenty of toys and chairs to take to the beach. My only complaints are minor but can affect one’s stay - there were 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 bathrooms. We thankfully brought extra. 3 trash bags were provided - we bought and left a box for the next renters. All in all, we found this property to be comfortable. Surf City is a delightful vacation spot and Escape Hatch was a lovely home.

When we got to the property we liked how far it was from the center of Surf City. 2.5 miles give or take. Perfect to ride our bikes that we brought. Had a little mix up on the key box , that was taken care of quickly with a phone call. The house is a great size as we were having family down . It could have been a little more tidy, but that wasn't a big deal. Can't beat the view. The large windows made it easy to enjoy the ocean view of the sun rise in the morning. Of course so did the decks. Plenty of dishes , glasses and pans. Lots of knifes. Bring a knife sharpener if you have one. Grand kids had a great time on the beach. We all did. What I personally liked was the two garages since we brought our bikes. We parked in one and the other for the bikes . Worked out great .

We just finished another great stay at Escape Hatch! We had 3 adults and 3 kids, with plenty of space for everyone. The bunk bed room is perfect for kids and the other 3 bedrooms each have a great view of the beach and ocean. Check-in and check-out were easy and Paul is very responsive. Instructions/details provided ahead of time are easy to understand and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware. Even with the chillier weather, we enjoyed walking along the beach and drinking hot chocolate on the deck. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Great location, beach was very nice. Had some broken glass on the floors in the living room, that was missed by the cleaners. Kitchen pans could use an update, as previous renters didn’t wash them very good. Overall, we had a great time. Recommended.

We agree with all the previous positive reviews - this is a wonderful vacation home! It is very comfortable and the ocean views are unparalleled throughout the house. We love the layout of such a spacious living area being on the main floor with the bedrooms upstairs and we particularly enjoyed both decks overlooking the water. Of course, the fact that you are literally steps from the sand is such an amazing feature and makes it so much easier to enjoy all the beach has to offer (especially w/toddlers!) Our hosts, Paul & Sharon, are very accessible and responsive to any questions sent their way. We are very grateful to them for sharing their vacation home and giving others the opportunity to enjoy such a beautiful stretch of coastline! Overall, we had a wonderful week and are already planning another stay!

We stayed as a family with little kids and grandparents. It was such a pleasant property, and the location is convenient! They have everything you need for the beach and a few essentials for traveling with a baby such as a high chair. We will definitely be interested in staying here again!

Our multi-generational family group had a marvelous time at Escapehatch. Walking up the stairs into the house from the garage for the first time we were wowed by the beautiful ocean view that greeted us. The house is comfortably furnished, including the beds, and amply supplied with utensils, cooking equipment, dishes, and appliances. There’s a great assortment of beach gear, including lots of sand toys and a collection of really nice kites. We had some windy days and enjoyed the variety! The great highchair and Pack n Play were much appreciated. Our hosts, Paul and Sharon, replied promptly to questions ahead of time, and we were well informed on arrival and departure procedures. Escapehatch feels like a place that has provided a great deal of pleasure and relaxation for both owners and guests. We would be delighted to return.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is spacious yet cozy and the location on the beach is top notch! We were able to watch the sunrise, see dolphins almost every day, and walking down right to the sand was so convenient. Both decks/balconies were in good condition and the top deck offers some really pretty views during sunset. There was plenty of room for our family of four and our two kids enjoyed the bunkbeds. The bedrooms are pretty spacious and having the closets available was helpful. It seems minor but having the closet open so that we could store our suitcases helped to keep the rooms from feeling crowded. There are a few areas that show age, like the bathroom, but overall the house was clean and well kept. The owner was very communicative and quick to respond, which was very helpful. They made us aware of a couple of repairs that were ongoing and it was thankfully nothing that severely impacted our stay but the transparency was appreciated. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, dishes, and silverware. It would be helpful to have a few dishcloths available and remember to pack any spices! Often times you see a small accumulation of spices and such from other renters but the cupboards were pretty bare here. No biggie since you’re not far from several stores. There are plenty of games, dvds, and books and an array of beach items and toys. We’re glad we found this gem and have already booked another stay!

We loved the house. Great open space on the main level, good sized bedrooms, well-appointed kitchen. House is in a perfect location, close to restaurants but far enough away from the busier areas. Nothing can beat the views and accessibility to the beach. It was amazing to walk down from the back porch right into the sand. Garage had plenty of beach stuff to use. Excellent communication from the property manager. Answered questions quickly. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely return.

Fabulous location! Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Despite cold weather outside home was cozy and comfortable. And the view from the full wall of windows perfect. Watched birds and dolphins all day. Steps to sand. What more can you ask for?

This property was perfect for our family gathering. The house is beautifully decorated and well kept. The furniture was comfortable and the floor plan made it possible for us to either gather or find personal space. The kitchen was well equipped. The surrounding area was quiet and the beach was pristine. We watched the dolphins and even sighted a whale! Lots of memories made. It truly felt like home!
