About this house rental

This absolutely beautiful, fully-restored beach cottage is located in the heart of Mission Beach only steps from the ocean. This is a very nice, super comfortable, three-bedroom, one-bath, private beach cottage just a 30-second walk to the beach.

There is plenty of parking here - hard to find in Mission Beach. We can fit 3 cars or 1-2 SUVs.

The living area has a gorgeous full kitchen that flows into the dining area and living room. The living area has a fabulous, original brick fireplace, TV, DVD, stereo, and high-speed internet. The French doors open up to a private patio with a brand new, piped-in gas barbecue, outdoor dining area and patio furniture.

There is a king in the master, a double and twin in the second bedroom, and a trundle bed in the third bedroom. There is a 3-foot breezeway of double French doors to access the private, third bedroom.

There are 4 flat screen TVs: a 32' and 42' in each of the bedrooms & a 52' in the living room.

There is a real difference between a house like this and a condo with common walls -- no footsteps above you in the middle of the night or voices coming through the walls. And yes, there really is a difference with double-paned windows and French doors.

This beach cottage is priced very well for anything comparable this close to the beach. And there are small stores and restaurants within walking distance in this very desirable area of Mission Beach. This is the small town SoCal beach life you have seen depicted for years on TV and at the movies. Come and give us a try!

The house is located in a great location. It's literally steps from the beach and boardwalk. Windows on all sides of the house really helped with the breeze at night. Parking was more than adequate. Check in was a breeze and information was provided 1-2 days in advance on how to check in. The host answered all of my questions within 2 hours of sending an email and even helped us locate a umbrella and chair rental company for our family. It was such a good experience that we plan to book this VRBO rental again in the near future. One thing to point out is that this house is directly located next to the main road in Mission Beach and some motorcycles and cars can be a little noisy at times throughout the night. This is completely outside the host's control. It woke us up a handful of times (since we aren't used to being so close to a road at home), but this minor inconvenience didn't take away from our overall impression on how lovely the property is. Our family is looking forward to staying in this property again in the future!

The house was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Kitchen had upscale cabinetry, and bathroom shower was very nice. We could walk everywhere and the beach and bay were just steps away. The neighbors were nice too. The owner was very responsive to concerns, and his handyman was prompt and friendly.

Perfect location for staying at the beach. The cottage was perfect size for us. Our teenager loved the room in the in the converted garage. Our daughter had fun in the bunk bed room, making a fort. The cottage was clean & well stocked with everything you’d need. Nice having the ability to do laundry on-site. Dave was really good with communication!! We unfortunately could stay long enough to use all the great beach things that were there to use. ** Literally like a 3 minute walk to the beach!!**

My family had a great time using this house. The location is perfect! We had everything we needed, we were steps from the beach, and we got to watch a marathon run right by the front door. The neighbors were very friendly!

This vacation was absolutely amazing and truly lived up to everything. The owner said, I’ll give this a 10 out of 10 and recommend to anybody staying with their family. The area is very nice. Everybody is super friendly and there is lots of things to do within a short walking distance. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in our so, very thankful.

Cute house, very small with a tiny front yard and no backyard. You're exposed on 3 sides, the master bedroom and 2nd bedroom are directly on the sidewalkand you do hear the traffic at night. The 3rd bedroom is a garage conversion. All that being said, I would rent it again. You walk out the front door and the beach is 200ft away. The bay is maybe 300ft the opposite direction. We are a family of 6 and we were comfortable. I loved having a driveway. It fit our Suburban with ease.

We loved our stay at Mission Beach. This house was perfect for my family and had everything we needed. Our favorite part was it was just steps away to the sand and waves. We will definitely recommend and stay here again.

The pics in the ad seemed to imply that the house was closer to the beach. It is actually on the main road. The walk to the beach is just a few mins. The house is fine. The third bedroom is a shed/ garage. The only problem with that is having to go into the house to use the bathroom at night. That wouldn’t be an issue except the keys to the doors were very difficult to use. It often took multiple tries to open the doors. The fan in the bathroom was very dirty. When I contacted the owner about these issues he sent out a handyman. This person cleaned the fan vent cover. He tried to fix the door locks by spraying them with WD 40. This just left an oily residue on the keys which got on our hands whenever we used them. The day before we left I walked to the front door (this door had been easier to open than the one closest to the 3rd bedroom). As I walked up to the door I tripped on a loose board in the step. I fell and injured my leg. I sent an email to the owner regarding what happened. I included pics of the board that could be completely lifted off of the base, and a picture of the large bruise on my leg. I did not hear back from him.

Location was awesome! I went to San Diego as my sons date to the Marine Ball. My son loved the house and location and said he would not mind living in that home. The only complaint I have is that I did not feel that it was very clean. There were bulbs hanging out of the fans in the garage room, fire alarm was hanging down out of the ceiling, the silverware trey was not very clean and the freezer could have used a while down. Other than that my experience there was great! I would for sure recommend staying here!

The beach house was as advertised. We arrived to a clean house ready for us to settle in. I would say that the biggest perk was the proximity of the beach! Literally a 30 second walk. Staying with a family of 5 made this feature a hit! We loved staying here. Thank you David! We loved our stay!

Our stay at David’s property was fantastic! Super close to the beach and short walking distance to tons of great spot for food and fun! The beach chairs and boogie boards that’s e had access to with David’s house made our numerous trips to the beach that much more fun!!

The house was great, and in an incredible location. Lot's of great attractions nearby. We had a vehicle, but ended up walking everywhere. The rooms were great, kitchen was great, beds were comfortable, and everything was clean, in good order and worked well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you.

This location cannot be beat if you want to explore San Diego - from Mission Beach to Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Coronado and the San Diego Zoo. David, the property manager, is terrific. The place is convenient, clean and the check-in process is easy.

My husband, daughter, two grandchildren and I stayed at this place. Loved the location close to the beach. Having a kitchen is very convenient because we cooked all of our meals there. Most of the supplies were sufficient for living. We did need aluminum foil and it was not supplied as well as more Tupperware would’ve been nice to store leftovers in. I would’ve liked more toilet paper. If you’re going to stay here, bring some. Washer and dryer were very convenient although the dryer had some issues with the lint trap. Beds were comfy with plenty of room. The master was very warm so, we had to leave the windows open and sleep with the fan on. Sand toys could use updating. We brought our own beach chairs and boogie boards, although they had these items at the house. Property manager was great and we will stay here again.

Simply awesome little spot with a huge driveway. On the skinny part of mission so the bay and ocean are SO close! Super clean! Unbelievably comfortable beds and bedding. I couldn’t be more grateful for such a wonderful place. Close to all the good stuff! Ice cream Shops, seafood, tacos, bars, etc… Do yourself a favor and book it now. We are very happy we did!

The Home had all the amentities that we needed, the place was clean, all appliances worked, nice patio was equiped with BBQ and ample parking.Manager responded immediately I gave them 5 stars. Will be staying for two weeks next year

We had a lovely time staying in this beach house because everything is in walking distance. Like some others have mentioned, it is located next to a busy street so it can get loud on the weekends. Make sure to bring a white noise machine if you're a light sleeper! Besides that, the amenities were great. The shower has nice water pressure and it gets hot fast! The washer and dryer were also very convenient. Overall I would recommend this place if you want to be close to Mission Beach activities!

We really enjoyed our time here. We decided to go to the beach this year for New Years Eve, instead of going to the mountains. This was the perfect location... close to the beach (1/2 block), walking distance from so many shops and restaurants, and very clean and cozy. Our only drawbacks were loud traffic on the main street ( no one's fault, just couldnt sleep with windows open) and lack of seating options. (No eating area other than the counter or couch). No deal breaker, though! It is a great little getaway and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Thank you!

Sooooooo close to the beach! We parked in the oversized parking spot and didn’t use the car again! We walked to the beach, grocery store, restaurants and Belmont park. The beds are comfy. The 3rd bedroom is completely separate from the house- whoever stays in there gets the extra key to come into the main house to use the bathroom at night which is a bit odd but worked out fine for us. They have awesome sand toys and boogie boards and a hose right outside the door to rinse off the sand before you go inside. There’s no table to eat at inside but there is a little counter space and an outdoor table. We had an awesome time
